    For $450 you would think the fan would be nearly silent!

    Lighting really has come a long way and hopefully continues to improve. Your bathroom example really sells this. Now I just wish LED manufactures could back their claims on lamp durations. They always say something like a 10 year life.....but most die after a year or two. At least the junk I but from Amazon does.

    This is pretty cool. It’s technology taken from the photography industry and transferred over to construction. Nice crossover application.

    There is a fair bit to like about this light, employing the cooling fans to inflate the diffuser is clever. It's seems that a large diffuser does spread the light very even. A sustainable continuous 20k lumens is a LOT of light that requires a high draw of power if to be powered by DC battery. So its understandable its AC powered. The fan noise is a downside, but hooked up to a big 12A pack you have fairly serious portable lighting.

    Nice, once led bulbs got cheap, I got a few of those cheap clamp lights with the aluminum reflectors that have been around forever and 60 watt equivalent LEDs. A couple of the longest lamp cord extension cords and without the reflectors they light up a good area each, a string of them can spread out pretty good between the extension cord and their own cords. You can get the clamps bulk from HD but each with a bulb is about 20 bucks so you can scale your spread and cover a decent area for pretty cheap. I do wireless sites, lots of night work and that system while slightly janky looking keeps the area lit pretty well. leave the reflectors behind and they pack pretty compact. A small yellow/black storage bin covers all my area light needs.
    I can also recommend the husky led 7500 lumen LED string lights, and the Husky 10,000-Lumen Area Utility LED Work Light. Though they (especially the utility light) aren't as configurable or scalable for the situation. Plus you have that super bright single light source which can be annoying when you look in it's direction.

    I still love my old WobbleLight, although I freely admit lots of folks won't need a 40,000-lumen metal halide worklamp...

    I'd need interested in seeing some smaller (and QUIETER) alternatives to this terrific backyard/capmsite area light.

    It's beautiful, but nowadays you can easily buy 20,000 lumen of waterproof daylight spectrum 110V LED lamp for $50 -- you just don't get the balloon and maybe you have to supply your own tripod. I can't spend eight to ten times that much just because of the cool form factor.

    Doc, who makes the small diffuser bag you covered briefly at the beginning?

    Hello again, Doc
    Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Question for you, 1) Does the light give off heat? And 2) Is it hard to look in close quarters?

      @lastbesttool  Před 19 dny

      Little to no heat is given off. The leds run cool and the fan makes a difference too. It can get too bright in close quarters but if the brightness is turned down, it’s easier in the eyes than traditional shop lights since you cannot get blasted by a direct beam.
