Yeah. Hell I have like 50 clamps. that ain't going on a peg board. I rather have all my tools than a pretty garage. heck, I'm building a 30 x 30 shop to keep my tools. After I build my shop I'll go back and make the garage look pretty like this.
In Ireland many older homes have two living rooms. The ‘Good Room’ where everything is set out perfect and you’re never allowed in unless there are visitors. We pretend this is how we normally live. And then there’s the smaller living room where you watch TV, chill and be normal. I feel this is the ‘Good Garage’!

I’d love something like that. My dad always had a sort of shallow trench kind of thing, running along the whole length of his work bench, closer to the back wall, than the front, so he could put things like very small screws or springs etc., either in the trench or behind it, so they wouldn’t roll off. Alot of haters in the comments..Nothing wrong with being organized. I put foam in all my boxes and cut out the outline of each individual tool. It might seem a little extra to people, but it is so helpful to know exactly where what you're looking for is, and to know if something is missing when a job is done. There is a weird thought process people have, that unless your tools are covered in grease and thrown all over the place in a disorganized mess, you don't use your tools..

Everything you showed I believe I would do to be organized on where my stuff are. Yet spray cans I wouldnt put lumped in the cabinet. I would try to find a get a pull out drawer for them so I can pick 1 up based on the color of its top. I cant be bothered to dig through a cabinet to find what I am looking for. A single pick up and drop back in a pull out cabinet seems far better in my opinion

The fact that all your tools are new (in my opinion) means you haven't done anything before. I have tools that are like best friends, that have been with me for 10+ years and they would be hanging front and center. Also my stretch of countertop would not be capped by that sliding cabinet, that would be at the opposite end so long pieces of wood and metal could be easily loaded and worked on without any obstruction.

Our 3 car garage was a catch all when we moved in. A year later when we finally cleaned it out, painted, organized, and build shelves, i felt like i had super powers lol. Meanwhile, my garage is an assortment of power tools strewn about in case they're needed and my most coveted tool sits in its own drawer: the mighty spud adjustable wrench. I've pryed body panels apart in junk yards with it to get better access to new door hinges that I needed, freed a radiator clutch using it and a hammer, busted a window at a salvage yard to crawl in through a stuck door to get some trim pieces, used it to hold an engine hoist together while I started in the new bolt, freed up frame bolts, etc. You name it, I've taken a spud wrench to it and we're on a first name basis.

Everything neat and tidy and I bet he has fixed more things owning and operating a farm than 5 people combined. He was always working. I remember cutting wood with him all the time. He got that way because he was tired of losing tools he needed. By having everything in its place it makes for repairs and maintenance wayy quicker

I've pryed body panels apart in junk yards with it to get better access to new door hinges that I needed, freed a radiator clutch using it and a hammer, busted a window at a salvage yard to crawl in through a stuck door to get some trim pieces, used it to hold an engine hoist together while I started in the new bolt, freed up frame bolts, etc. You name it, I've taken a spud wrench to it and we're on a first name basis.

why does everyone think in order for something to be of use it has to be messy and chaotic. My grandpa had a very well put together garage. Everything neat and tidy and I bet he has fixed more things owning and operating a farm than 5 people combined. He was always working. I remember cutting wood with him all the time. He got that way because he was tired of losing tools he needed. By having everything in its place it makes for repairs and maintenance wayy quicker

These specific units are part of a modular garage storage system from Pinnacle Hardware. Only available in Australia and New Zealand though. There are a lot of similar products available from other big box hardware stores like Lowe's and Home Depot though!
