Thank you!! What a wonderful tutorial- I'll be using fleece on the inside, but would have never thought to use plastic shower caps as an exterior. Genius!
Thank you so much for this pattern. The diaper goes together so quickly. I figure the first is a practice, and these are actually fun to make! Thanks again
Thank you for this and all of the Baby Alive patterns. Your tutorials and FREE(!) patterns are wonderful and much appreciated. I like that you include ideas for low- or no- cost materials to make these with. My grandgirl is going to be so happy with these. 🤗
Lelesdesigns thanks again!! I love making your products and have made 2 shirts, a diaper bag and plan on making 4 diapers!! I wouldn’t be able to enjoy sewing with out you!!❤️❤️❤️
Thank You so much Jillian. I am happy to hear you were able to enjoying sewing these outfit out and its nice to hear you made quite a few things. Happy Stitching
You are so welcome! Maybe one day. Hopefully you have a dollar store and you can find the supplies there. Thanks for your kind comment. Happy to hear you are having a wonderful time creating these pattern.
Thanks for the tutorial! not sure if I'll be able to do it on my mini sewing machine but it's worth a try going to try to make a few for my little sisters dolls :D
Thank You so much! I love that you are willing to take on this challenge for your sister. I have a feeling you are going to be able to make these diapers love to hear how it went. If you have any question Don't hesitate.
On the pink polka dot, you used a clear shower curtain. so the design we see is actually the fabric you used underneath? asking because we have fabric my daughter wants to use and we want to see it on the outside.
yes I used a clear shower curtain and I believe I listed the shower curtain I used toward the end of the video but sorry its been a while and yes I did use a polka dot fabric that you are seeing though the clear shower curtain. Have fun stitching it out.
One more question: How close to the outer edge should the 1/4" elastic be when you are sewing it? Hope you understand my question. As for elastic, I just stretched it as tight as I could from mark to mark -- is this correct? Thank you.
I bought a shower liner but the care instructions say 'wipe clean with a damp cloth'. Do you recommend I use this? Im wondering how it'll do in the wash.
it should be ok. You probably don't want to use hot water. If its really thin and you are uncertain you can cut a piece and throw it in the wash to see how well it holds up.
I only have the 12 and 16" doll. I did not know there is a 14" Baby alive doll. you can print out the pattern and test them on your doll to see if they will fit. Make sure to allow seam allowance.
Lelesdesigns Thank you for your reply! I'll try the patterns. The baby alive we have doesn't have hair, it's more like the drawing of a hair on the head. It comes with bandaids and a cup to give medicine.
Would it work to sew it so that the plastic layer is on the inside once you turn the diaper inside out? so it would still be waterproof but cotton closest to the doll and also on the outside? Does that make sense or would that logistically not work. I am not a sewer so I don't know, but I was thinking of asking my step mom to make a few for my daughters doll. Thanks!
What I would suggest is just leave the elastic on the Roll and start it at one dot mark sew it down when you get to the next dot mark , back stitch, cut your elastic. This way you don’t waste any elastic.
Good idea but... what about people who can't find elastic? I worked at wallmart during covid, and I know for A fact that elastic is hard to come buy since everyone wants to make there own masks....😷
Thank You! with Covid and everyone making mask it was difficult getting elastic but in last 6-7 months the stores have stocked it as well as amazon. In fact my walmart overstocked on elastic and I was able to get some on clearance. If you still have a problem finding it you can recycle some old clothing.
Hi there, is there any chance you would see some Baby Alive reusable diapers to me? I am not a sewer but love your idea and am against purchasing (wasteful) disposable diapers for a doll!
Do you have any pattern for a 12 inch Baby Alive Boy doll? I also have a 14 inch Baby Alive Girl doll and was wondering how could I adjust your patterns to fit the 14 inch Baby Alive Girl doll? Do you have any patterns for shoes for Baby Alive Dolls listed above?
I do not have any patterns for the boys but I do have leggins that might works. Here are my playlist of all the baby alive items I have. czcams.com/play/PLMsM56LHs7UQsPSs-tPIec8rl18B2GO0O.html I do not have shoes. I am not sure on the adjustment for 14". you might enlarge the pattern by printing at 105%- 110% but not sure if that will work

what modifications would be made if you wanted fabric on the outside and still wanted the plastic layer ( I purchased P U L for baby diapers) and plain inner side with the "soaker" on the inside of all of it?

Super cute Diapers ever. May we can do for our Minnie also but need to have one hole for her tale :-)
Thank You so much. That would be cute on the Minnie. She might not like it though.

I sewed the elastic a ¼ from the edge of the material. Yes on the stretch from mark to mark

12 or 16 inches. My daughter’s baby alive is 14 inches. I don’t get it. I really liked the video though

Lelesdesigns Hello! I did 12 inches and it worked! Thank you very much! :-)
Your welcome! So happy to hear that it worked.
Great tutorial but I need to pay someone to do this for me. I have absolutely no patience to do this myself 😂😂😂
You can do it!

I am not sure. What you can do is layer your material as you stated and test it by pouring water on top
@@Lelesdesigns thank you!

Can I use iron on clear vinyl
Like the stuff on htv? if so you can if you use parcement paper ontop. otherwise you cannot use an iron on clear vinyl
