  • Courtney Clenney’s defense attorneys, Sabrina Puglisi and Frank Prieto, said the latest computer crimes charges are “clearly prosecutorial overreaching” and violate attorney-client privileges in the OnlyFans Model Murder case. Clenney's parents were arrested for allegedly accessing victim Christian Obumseli's laptop without permission.

    Also Christian didn’t abandon the laptop at Courtney’s home - he died there….it still belongs to the family.

      you have no idea if Courtney purchased the laptop. she was very obviously the breadwinner, his name wasn't even on the lease. not enough information has come out. even if Courtney didn't purchase the laptop, crime scene investigation was done - the family did not come to retrieve property in the months following. the argument can be made the laptop was abandoned since months passed & no one made a claim to that belonging.

      @@jennys2543 That’s ridiculous. There’s no indication that he did not buy it. And even if she bought it, gifting it to him makes it his. And even if they had some weird arrangement where he was merely borrowing it, the data within it is HIS and therefore part of the estate. The fact that they were attempting to access data that didn’t belong to them is a crime. They could just as easily replaced the physical C-drive and had a fresh laptop on their hands. They could have had a tech just reformat it even. They chose to access data that didn’t belong to them. Lock them all up.

      @jenny that’s speculation on your part first of all. Secondly even if someone buys something for you as a gift, it’s no longer theirs because they GIFTED it to you. No takesy backsies after your murder them. The laptop did not belong to the Clenney t, it belonged to the Obumseli family as legal claimants to his property. They had to huddle around and crack the password so they could plunder it…it was not theirs.

      clearly you are not a lawyer like myself. its all speculation, that is my point entirely. no one has any idea if the laptop was stolen, abandoned or purchased by Courtney herself. you have no idea what the receipt of that computer looks like. and most importantly, a basic lesson in American criminal justice - she is accused of murder, has not been convicted.@@basicallyno1722

      So, unless the father and other on that group chat are represented by this attorneys in this specific case (parents are not charge in anything regarding Cristian) there's no privilege.
      So the woman attorney was "this is questionable how do prosecution even have that messages" I'm guessing from tracking father- daughter communication...
      Also lawyers do lawyering, so here they avoiding using word victim regarding Cristian because their case is that he wasn't a victim in all of this, that he was abusive etc. So that's on purpose.
      And I vaguely emember them saying they have a video in response to the showed one but they can't just release it. Now they saying "we don't have a video"... Again, lawyers will be lawyering and sometimes it means just creating a noise...

    • @GeminiJamW
      @GeminiJamW Před 3 měsíci

      That’s not what she is saying though. She is asking how those messages came to be uncovered. If the communications were between the parents and their attorney with Courtney’s lawyer CCed then I think it is privileged. If it’s between the parents and Courtney’s lawyer then likely not. Regardless, one would have had to have read the communications in order to establish that client-attorney privilege doesn’t exist which is not how it works.

    • @praytogodus
      @praytogodus Před 3 měsíci +3

      It makes total sense to question the motive behind giving someone a pin if there's no intention of access-this does raise eyebrows. When the prosecutor hinted at the safety concerns of Mr. Clenney's release, it suggests there might be underlying issues or past incidents that could jeopardize the family's security. The inquiry about police being called to the family's home in Texas specifically concerning Courtney implies a history or pattern of behavior that could be relevant to the case.
