That lady literally gets to do arts and crafts all day
I was going to say, where can I get this job? Just send me the stuff, I'll put it in the tubs and send them back. 😁
Yes I don't understand why my daughter who has amazing artistic talent doesn't take her art seriously. Who says you can't make a living out of it. Who cares what people say start your own business. If I had talent to her extent I wouldn't waste it.
Honestly seems easy and doesn't require talent. But to each their own.
I mean, I wouldn't call it art. But she is using glue, so I guess you can call it crafts.
yes, working her fingers to the bones as her arthritis gets worse and worse over the years till it developes into carpal tunnel and then that gets worse and eventually her hands are locked up and she cant even wipe herself
Even now, at age 60+, I can still remember countless hours fascinated by the ever-changing images in my Kaleidoscopes as a young'un. I had a couple of them in different sizes, and they were among my favorite toys for years.
Probably the only toys I didn't disassemble.
I actually know the kaleidoscope artists featured here! They’re names are Judith Paul and Tom Durden. So check what they have made their work is all so beautiful :)
How
How many times did they get cut, trying to separate mirrors?
Well, it is cheaper than LSD.
Not this one I bet. And if its good acid and pure. You will never forget the twelve hours on the other side. Im too old now I dont think my heart could take it. But LSD smokes a kaliedascope. hands down.
Acid is pretty cheap though lol
Actually lsd is cheaper $5 a tab
I don’t think so. I used to make these and you have to use first surface mirrors which are super expensive. If you notice, this guy used first surface mirrors as well as the mirror was on both the inside and outside of the glass. I used to sell mine for $100 each. I’m not well versed in the price of LSD, but I don’t believe it costs that much.
@Nisa R Since you have some experience, you can now try some LSD and let us know how they compare in price and effectiveness.
Probably not all kaleidoscopes are handmade. It looks like quite complex process.

I made kaleidoscope in class 8th for Arts and Craft exibition. But didn't knew it was this precise task.
In Mexico some years ago in primary school we were taught to make kaleidoscopes. We used pieces of coloured glasses that run freely inside the item. It might not being as elaborated as the ones in the video, yet it is awesome. Cheers.
The kaleidoscope was originally known to the ancient Greeks, but was not rediscovered until 1816 by the Scottish physicist David Brewster and a patent was applied for in 1817.

In 80-90's we kids used to have this .those days it was like an iphone .I hope today these craftsman are getting enough bussines to survive
czcams.com/video/JhEbYyd3tgs/video.html
I used to play with these when I was a kid too, but I was born in 2002
Did they teach you how to punctuate in the 80’s?

That's "How WalMart Kaleidoscopes are made"
Jajajajajajjajjajjajjajja un clásico entre los episodios de este programa...
How It's Made just shows how boutique things are made, not how most things are actually made. That would be a very depressing show.
I got to work with Luc and Sallie Durette for a bit and the process was remarkably similar. The models I assisted with had wood cases for the mirror system housing instead of cardboard. These kinds of kaleidoscopes are quite lovely and last a long time!
Watching these makes me feel like im at home from school sick again during lunchtime
Legend says that this is Huggbees when he isn't high and drunk

Thanks CZcams, for your completely random, yet interesting and informative video.
I've always wanted to see them with cooler stuff inside
like what?
This is fascinating. I have always loved them. Now I know how its made!
😊
This video sent me right back to my childhood. Thank you so much. ❤️🎁😘
I got one kalideoscope from my uncle which had a very convex lens at the end instead of being limited by any packed items as shown here. You can imagine the variety. Eventually, I disassembled it. Keeping it would have been so great.
Before watching: “who cares about a kids toy!”
After watching: “Damn I need one! Hey Alexa, order me two koliadascopes!”
When I was a kid, had a kaleidoscope that had several disks that you could open up & put different objects in them. Wish I still had it.
My sister used to make this when we were little. Awesome they were.
Imagine someone finding this 10,000 in the future and wondering why on earth we as humans had needed that in our culture and lives.
I’m pretty sure that when it is that far into the future, everything we have and do will be viewed that way. Fidget spinners, rock and roll, rap, short shorts, CZcams, and maybe even cell phones will be crazy old concepts like stereoscopes and aqueducts are to us.
What a dream job it must be to make kaleidoscopes
Damint. Now I've got Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds stuck in my head.

I remember playing wiv these as a kid
Me too!
Amazing!
Awesome!
Amazing! I love the detail and craftsmanship of it. Where do I find mirror sheets with adhesive backings like the one in the video?
Fascinating
The voice of the narrator is great for falling asleep
Wow, I didn’t know it was such a manual task to make them!
9th. And I didn't know it was just 3 mirrors that gave the illusion. Neat!

I guess you still don't, as it's only two mirrors and a piece of black felt.

Loved this ❤❤❤
im not sure how this ended up in my recommended, but i wont doubt the algorithm this time.

I remember being in a park playground and looking through one for the first time and holy shit lmao
Amazing.
Did they bring back Brooks Moore?? I hope this sticks.
i never knew i needed this as a job but i need it as a job
I MEAN IMAGINE THE CREATIONS HIGH PEOPLE WOULD MAKE
I'd love to subscribe to a channel that shows the interior scenes of different kaleidoscopes in motion. Mesmerizing, kind of like lava lamp videos.

@@deankrause Thank you! Exactly what I had in mind, I appreciate your help.
i remember when you did videos with can human like go through a damn shitta tons glue i loved it-
I'm actually more curious on how they came up with its name kaleidoscope
I assume it comes from greek, where 'kalos' means 'beautiful' and 'scope' is glass, like in telescope and microscope etc.
But I don't speak Greek and I haven't researched the definition, so take it with a grain of salt.
Astonishing
Thank you
Does that air bubble in the cell bother anyone else?
I always thought the inner angles were 60 degrees apart
No human has seen a kaleidoscope without wanting to look through it.
These ones are neat, but I also preferred the colored glass/plastic versions over the ones with objects
0:53 imagine the years of bad luck from how many mirrors he’s damaged /j
So coool!
By inhaling all that glue fumes, you'll get an even better special effect experience! 😳
Wow!
this genuinely interests me. I mean, I knew it was something to do with mirrors.
I can just imagine the amount of times that person would have cut his fingers doing the job of cutting mirrors.
On acid using one of these is beyond amazing 🧙♂️
have they always had mineral oil in? they don't look as pretty as the ones i remember as a kid which simply contained sparkly bits or tiny sequins. much more dazzling and pretty, and they made a nice, satisfying noise too.
Wowwwwwwwww......... 🤩

I had one of these kaleidoscopes as a kid. It was given to me. But I kinda broke it cuz I thought it was a malfunctioning telescope ☺

I had a 60 mirror one
I didn't know that I needed to know...
I like to play with these stuff before.
Episode idea: How it’s made episode-How it’s made?
I never got to use a real one. Only one I looked through was 97 cent walmart toy in the 80's Though it was pretty cool though.
Wow
I had no idea that the how it's made company made its own kaleidoscopes
I would think using gloves to prevent fingerprints would be good...
so you're saying that if I break open a kaleidoscope i will most likely find cool looking knick knacks? brb then
