Tbf chances are those plastics are not even in the top 5 most harmful substances in these.
Eating it won't kill you, just letting y'all know. It'll go right through the digestive system and out, you'll only absorb the sugars not the plastic or rubber; nor is it toxic! You're supposed to chew not swallow anyways.
Another heads up: There are still companies who make gum the old fashion way with natural ingredients and no rubber/plastic
rubber is natural stupid.....and the natural counterparts of gum is still rubber,resin or latex.
Retired RN: no it doesn't always go out! Sometimes it collects into a big ball in the intestines, obstructs the bowel, and has to be surgically removed. Yes it can be life threatening.

If you swallow 1 or 2 pieces, it won't get stuck, it granulates in your gut and goes straight through you. It's only dangerous if you ate a large amount at once

@@sugarbear0502 probably not the best for the body. But fortunately the human body is an incredible machine! It detected the gum as having zero nutrients, and as a foreign object. Long story short, the body rejected the gum and shit it out.

True, but do remember that rubber is a product of tree resin, which is also where natural gum comes from, so even old fashioned gum made the original way is a sort of rubber.

It's not uncommon to use cellulose-derivatives, which could be called synthetic, but are chemically a plastic polymer, but it's a polymer based on cellulose and is as such not digested if swallowed. It's unstable in solution, and will break down from heat. So traces in your body will just disintegrate into glucose chains and dietary fiber strands.

Dubble Bubble is not the best for blowing bubbles. That honour goes to Hubba Bubba and Bubble Tape.
And the fruit-flavoured Dubble Bubble shown here is just a recent-ish knockoff of Bazooka bubble gum. The REAL Dubble Bubble is the flat pieces in the original 1928 wintergreen flavour, now referred to as "spice". My parents grew up with it, and so did I.
