1934 Ford 5-Window Coupe Tour

  • In this video I will attempt to show every detail.....both good and bad......of my 1934 Ford coupe. I've owned it for a couple years and made many improvements. The best feature is the original Henry Ford steel body (fenders are fiberglass). It's a totally reliable cruiser, intended for daily driving rather than being trailered to car shows. Check it out and see what you think, but be sure to watch the whole video before commenting or asking questions. Thanks for viewing.
    Be sure to see the added info at the end of the video, plus the following: The hood sides were painted separately from the car and are a very slightly different shade of black.....only visible under certain lighting conditions. They are in great shape, but the metal has a few small waves (see video).

    A great looking and very clean '34 coupe. It's a statement of 'looking good and running great thanks'.

    Sweet ride Doug. Instantly reminded me of ZZ Top. Put a lightning bolt on it lol. That's an 8-inch rear, not a 9 inch. The 9-inch housings have a hump for the ring gear.

    It could use a nice paint job. It's been chopped too much to bring it back to original, but at least some of the body is still there. Not too many escape the wrath of the sawzall blade.

  • @wendyandgeoffpattison2610

    That's a really nice '34 UD. What transmission do you have under there Doug? You're taking a risk showing your number plate.

    • @uncledougshotrodgarage6049
      @uncledougshotrodgarage6049  Před rokem

      TH-350. I've never understood why the number plate exposure would matter. I drive around with it showing all the time......the number plate, I mean ;)

  • @Slugg-O
    @Slugg-O Před 2 lety

    Beautiful car. I admire the engineering it too to shoehorn a V8 under the hood with AC\PS and also love the look of a nicely chopped top. I'd probably never be able to fold up enough to enjoy one but I still like them.
    Any guess at to the gear ratio? Sounded like 3.42 -3.73'ish from the way it was shifting. If so then that 350 will be plenty zippy. Thank you and stay well hydrated. This Texas heat is horrendous.

    • @uncledougshotrodgarage6049
      @uncledougshotrodgarage6049  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks so much, Randy. There is a surprising amount of headroom.....I can wear a hat and not touch the headliner. The gears are more highway than drag race.....probably around 3.23:1 or so. It rolls along at 75 effortlessly. The heat has been ungodly......108 for 3 days in a row !!
