Horrorcore at it's finest. Em destroys every 'genre' he tackles. I love shit like brotha lynch hung and shit like that but this just kills.
Em's one requirement for the video was to be in a bathtub of "blood". It was so cold and this part of the sanitarium was closed. They couldn't keep the water warm. Per the Paul Pod with Em.

In an interview, Em explained the insperation for this track. During his addiction he would lose large amounts of his short term memory. He talked about how he did an appearance on a tv show and would see it later that day and have no recollection of ever doing it.
I love all versions of Eminem but this 1 just hit different x always loved this album and especially this track x Eminem here is just yum (don't judge me) x

Relapse was a classic album. It was amazing and extremely creative. This is only something Eminem could write, and get the point across and sell the horror idea and make it believable. No other rapper could sell this, could really pull this off. I love this horror album. Em, marshall, B. Rabbit, rap god, whatever name you want to give him his name is goat there is nobody that writes like him, that has the insane ability to really make you believe. When record execs says this person has star potential or they have something that makes them stick out they were talking about people like Em. He has a presence like no one else. How je structures verses, his lyrics, punchlines nobody does it like him. He is a once in a lifetime talent and there is no one close. He can do everything and anything required to be the best rapper. Hes a perfect rapper, hes the perfect artist. His creativity takes him out of the box and to a place none of these other fools can get to. There will never be anybody this good. Its just facts.

Your totally right, the first verse is a metaphor for battle rapping, killing someone in front of an audience. The whole thing makes much more sense. And the song is acknowledging how serial killers and horror movies influenced his music just as much as Tupac.

👏One of my fav songs by Em - IT'S SOOOOO UNDERRATED - the rhyming schemes are off the scale! His lyrical ability is insane🔥& it got more advanced whilst in rehab - that in itself illustrates Em's GOAT status. I think Relapse is one of his best albums & I'll never understand why ppl don't appreciate it more. As ever, Marshall is ahead of his time.🐐

I loved Ems interview which I think was with Anderson Cooper on CNN of all places. He was talking about how he gets mad when people say nothing rhymes with orange. And he was telling how nothing will rhyme with it exactly but if you bend the word a little lots of things do. And ofc he gives an example: "I put my orange door hinge in storage and porridge with geoorge ( pronounced it like Jorrige )

@@majinya6199 no but there's still connections if you watch both music videos I think in 3am he escapes the hospital which is why it shows him leaving the front doors and showing him in the forest constantly but then in framed it reference back to when he killed all the people in the hospital while also talking about his new killings (it's like a double meaning song) same forest same hospital and I think even same clothing he's wearing in those music videos there's a lot of squeals in his newer albums like bad guy is a squeal to stan I think or evil twin I can't remember which one

So many tracks people forget about.
i was always really confused about people disliking Relapse because it reminded me of Slim Shady, it felt like.. how you would say.. Eminem lost against his alter ego Shady and so Shady went on a spree which resulted in Relapse. but also at the time Relapse came out i was fully invested in my horrorcore phase and i was estatic that i had a familiar voice to listen to in the genre lol
that said, 3am is my least favourite song on Relapse lol
My Darling is probably my favourite song on the whole album because it really captures the struggle of Em vs Shady and all his inner demons and him coming to terms with the choices he made. Which then become more noticeable in MTBMB
Em gave us MTBMB side A and B within a year of each other. 2 FULL albums Kamikaze a couple years before that. He has put out more music than most artists do on average.
He will keep dropping new stuff. And you never know maybe there will be bars from the Fury v. Ngannou fight on the next track

The "creepy" part of him walking fast paced across the hall after the nurse, I think, has to be a nod to The Exorcist 2 scene that takes like 3 minutes to play out. That scene still freaks me out.

As excited as you get on those multis if you've never heard the song Hellbound by Eminem, J Black and Masta Ace it's a must listen. Eminem's verse on there has some of the most disgusting multisyllable rhyme schemes. the rest of it is good too but Ems verse is just like holy shit

Well if you think about it, he is the evil part of bad meets evil right? He is saying evil rise as in... Shady... Rise!
First, it's not "Evil Rise" at the end my guy. Listen closely and you can hear the "t" at the end of the word "thoughts". Therefore, he is saying "Evil Thoughts" which is a play on Jason Vorhees's inner dialogue whispering "kill...die...". Secondly, the instrument in Bagpipes from Baghdad is literally a bagpipe lol. 😂

I really like the track "Amen" by Passport Gift featuring Royce and Westside Gunn! "100,000 Machine Guns" is a very good track aswell, but take a look in his music really. he's an underrated artist.
