Best live performance of 2022 IMHO. Chambers said in a press statement. “I’ve been mostly influenced in my life by writers who bravely put fearless emotion into lyrics and no one does that better than Eminem.”
She took a piece of art and made a brand new piece of art out of it. I havent been so moved by a musical performance in a long time. This was breathtaking.
You can understand why we wanted you to hear this. Kasey is a legend is Australia, youngest ever woman to be inducted into the ARIA hall of fame ARIA = Australian Recording industry Association.
Em's writing is on full display here, you cannot do something like this if it's not well writen, and the way she keeps a similar cadence while singing it is *chefs kiss*.

As a teenager I would Always hassle him for the same song every time I was Lucky enough to be present for a sing along/"jam" session with him being the main performer. I am now in my late 60's and have enjoyed his career and then to the extension of the Deadringer band, that was made up, basically, of his wife and their 2 children and the beginnings of Kasey's career! Great stuff!! Proud Aussie!

I am an Aussie metalhead and got dragged kicking and screaming to a Kasey gig way back in 2004... never have I headbanged more at a gig than at that performance at the Coogee RSL! And they pigeon hole her as Country... that gig was as far from Country as I could ever have imagined, yes there was some country-like elements but there was also blues, R n B, hard rock elements just as much. Kasey is a freak of a talent, so proud she is a skip.
@@manna6618I used to be into rock and the rocky side of pop with a bit of the quirky side of pop but in the early 2000’s when I didn’t find much of the top 40 I liked anymore I went across to Australian country for a bit.....not kerneghan type country but live Becky cole (live she really rocked, records seemed a bit toned down) and a few others. It was about the time Jim Haynes put out his comedy albums with the likes of when Cheryl went feral and a few others like Luke o Shea with medicine wheel did a few funny ones that drew me into the rest of their work. The live music scene was still awesome back around then and really rocked and was properly live. I moved away from easy access to gigs and lost touch a bit and some artists I followed went a bit more country than rock so I lost touch with new music.
I'm Australian and I didn't know Kasey had covered this. She is so talented, so unique... and she sung it from the soul like she'd written it herself. Thanks from bringing it to my attention Cliff.

I have known Kasey and Bill my whole life! She is absolutely incredible as a person and a musician. She used to encourage me with stories from her high school music class, the one she famously failed ahahaha. Still love seeing her to this day.

I saw this song performed by her live at the Gippsland Country Festival in country Victoria 2022 and to say the video doesn’t do it justice, is an UNDERSTATEMENT!! It was absolutely mind blowing and the crowd was so taken back that you could hear a pin drop!!
Kasey has been my idol since I was a child. Her voice and acouple of her songs have been quite controversial over the years people either absolutely love her or they absolutely hate her, there isn’t any middle ground.
She is an incredible Aussie country artist and especially story teller. She is the idol that her fans should meet because she is just an incredibly humble, sweet, beautiful human being all the time. She is ALWAYS so humbled and grateful for the support of her loyal fans and ALWAYS surprised that people know ALL the lyrics to her song especially those from years ago.

That was awesome! I was expecting this to be funny, but it sounds so pure and emotional, as if the lyrics were written for this version. I already liked the lyrics, but this is given me a new found respect and appreciation for them. And her passionate performance was mind-blowing.

I had chills down my spine when I first heard it when someone donated to you for watching it ,when you were live the other day. I have been watching/listening to her songs since then.Such an amazing rendition of this song,not many people can make a rap song their own like she did . even Eminem approved it,she got it up on Spotify(that says enough)

I'm an Aussie and l wasn't really into her music as lm not a country music fan, but she loves Eminem and so did this. There are a couple of songs like the Captain n this l just love.
It is channels like yours that this version is getting so much more international react. There are so many Australian artists and bands that the rest of the world have never heard before, but are now slowly being recognized for their songs. Kasey is in a realm of her own, creating her own music; and on top of that, covering Top 20 songs from around the world. Kasey has faced her own trials and tribulations throughout her life and career, and the emotion of her performance resonates throughout the song.

It's like she stumbled across the lyrics, having never heard the song, and thought, "These are good lyrics. I could write a song to these." and so she did.
