good info...very useful the vice was neat...will have to make one of those for myself
Great vise idea Iam gonna do that !!
A lot of that stuff looks similar to gun engraving tools. I never gave wire inlay much thought. It always looked too hard. But now I might give it a try.
Joe, I built those 3 small chisels out of X-acto blades/handles and they work great, except the collet becomes loose after a few stabs. How do you keep the collet tight?
Joe, What is your source for the flat silver wire? Where do you buy it? I'm having trouble finding the size you are working with. I love the bowling ball vice! Thanks
muzzleloader builder's supply has what you need. google them and do a search for "wire" on their site.
I'm still a bit confused about the chisels being used, what shape are they? Are you carving out a channel for the wire?
Hello. What kind of hammer are you using and where can I get one?
what size vise is mounted to it
what for vise is that and what brand
Joe purchases his silver wire at T.B. Hagstoz & Son, Inc., 7099 Sanson ST, Philadelphia, PA 19106 , 1-800-922-1006
