My great grandpa, bought a 1466 brand new in 74’ for $23.500 and a couple weeks later he found out he had the biggest two wheel drive tractor in our area, that summer he brought it to the tractor pull and he pulled the most weight with it out of any other tractor there. Incredible story I heard about him and the 1466. Right now that 1466 has been winterized for the past 20 years since he’s past and it’s just sitting in the shed with the fuel and coolant drained so nothing cracks or blows out from the cold. Me and my dad want to get it running once again for the 20 year anniversary of great gpas passing once we finish up restoring his 806… that’s another massive story.

It’s great that there are museums and videos like this that help to preserve and share these machines for us all to see.

I have seen photos of this tractor from 1974 and the center hubs of the rear wheels have 12 holes in them the way all 66 series tractors did then.
This tractor has 6 hole center hubs in the rear wheels the way 86 series tractors did. I am curious about whether they were changed for some reason
or is it possible there were more than one of these built. I have commented this on other videos and can't get any response, It's may seem trivial but
I would like to know. My Dad was an IH dealer during this time and I remember the poster hanging in his dealership with a picture about this tractor.
If anyone knows about this I would like to here about it.
