This video really makes you appreciate corrosive bile as zerg. Those force fields were so powerful vs zerg
True it was such a pain sometimes, especially with soul trains and even lategame sentry-colossi pushes
It's also sad that the Force Fields, which used to be one of the most iconic SC2 spells and trademark of legendary Protoss like MC and Parting, now is largely irrelevant in PvZ due to corrosive biles. A bit of over-correction I think.
A few things to note about this era. Right before these finals hell bats were nerfed. If you go back and watch Innovation face Roro in the Ro8 he comes back with almost no scv's due to how strong the hell bat was (overpowered would be more appropriate). The nerf came right before the finals which drastically changed the meta game right before the biggest SC2 final. 2nd thing to note about innovation was that he did the same build almost every single game. He was called a machine for a reason. This fact is why Soulkey was able to pull off the all-ins. The same all-in that Roro did in the Ro8 interestingly.
clearly you could see how tilted innovation was in game 7 when he scanned, saw the mutas then flew 3 medivacs full of units right into the mutalisks. This was a heartbreaking final for me as I was actually a huge innovation fanboy at the time, Since I played Terran around this time and was obsessed with SC2.
Anyway amazing video, thank you for highlighting something I think most people never saw and would never have had the chance to see.
Fantastic content! Seeing the old gomtv logo in the corner there had me flashing back to when I was a teenager, watching GSL in 360p
Thank you for sharing
I watched all these games live. Good memories.
I missed the the 2013/2014 era when all the KESPA/Brood War players were finally putting in amazing results?
Could you do a video on the Proleague finals between SKT and KT back in 2014? Or Jaedongs constant second place finishes and his run at Blizzcon back in 2013?
I saw Soulkey play live in Toronto, what an amazing moment.
So cool! Thanks for posting. I only ever M started watching sc2 in 2019 so missed a lot
What was that rush for the colossus???!! That was some plat level decision making.
This was a nice show. People love reverses!
It's a shame that you can no longer search for wol and hots as a ranking list.
Why can the protoss nexus shoot at enemy units? That would be OP having nexus that can shoot like terran's Planetary fortress.
That's the Mothership Core's Nexus Overcharge at work. And one of the reasons why the Mothership Core was removed in Legacy of the Void.
forgot how great this game used to be.
It is still great, we just had an amazing Tournament this month, Intel Extreme Masters.
