Once he signs an extension he no longer has any leverage. The Cavs can trade him anywhere they wish as long as they get a great return. I don't think D. Mitchell wants to restart his career in Detroit, Portland, Washington, or Utah.
Murray should be at the top of the list of stars, or borderline stars, to get. I'm not a fan of any of the other possible trade candidates simply because everyone else is injury-prone. Murray has shown he is not afraid of big moments and that he has the ability to play good to above-average defense. On top of that, he has a fair to undervalued contract, which is why a player like Reaves is so sought after.
Murray for 2x 1st Rd Picks + Max Christie (Sign and Trade) Rui + JHS. Likely a three-team trade.
Reaves for 17th pick for Caruso and Torrey Craig.
I’m a big fan of both Reaves and Christie, but if the Lakers are trying to maximize LeBron's possible last year of playing at an elite level, they need to go all-in on creating a starting five that can play well with one another and has very few holes. This is under the premise that the Lakers do not re-sign DLo, allowing them to aggregate contracts, and it opens up the MLE of about $13 million, which will allow them to bring in another good role player. Hopefully, Isaiah Hartenstein (wishful thinking) or Valanciunas to fill that backup center position, which the Lakers have been desperate to fill since Dwight and McGee left.

We need perimeter defense. AR and DLO are liabilities defensively against the better guards in the west and this has been proven especially in playoffs. We need stronger/tougher defensive guards. Witnessed AR being driven through the paint stumbling out of bounds too many times. Then I see guys like Divenechenzo, TJ McConnell, even Jose Alverado hold their own with toughness, hustle, and capability. Yes, also pursue strength/defensive center to offset stronger post players. I was very impressed by the effectiveness of Reid in the Minn/Denver matchup. He is strong enough to hold his own in the post and skilled enough to stretch defenses. IMO he was the key defensively in crucial moments guarding Joker.

Obviously, BKN will throw some salary in this deal but Essentially, you are replacing AR production and adding elite defense and consistent scoring as your 3rd option!! D Lo who was last year’s 3rd option will become primary facilitator and the 4th option!! Vando will defend the best perimeter opposing player! In theory the defense and offense should be more consistent. Bridges will also help rebounding adding toughness and Hussle around AD and Lebron.. SDinwiddie, Max, MLewis, CWoods, and BLopez or Valunciunis will be the bench minutes. Not the best bench but respectable!! Salute
