This hurts, I had almost a complete base set and then in an adult phase in college I stupidly gave it all away to Goodwill. Biggest regret of my life, wish I could go back in time and save myself from my stupidity. Now I'm trying to piece together a set again but it's just too expensive, I'm gonna be broke as a joke if I ever manage to finish this and re-align the space time continuum of my childhood.

This takes me to a time in my life when I was a kid when my neighbor sold me all of his pokemon cards in a box size of a pizza box for only $5. I was probably the happiest kid, but also learned a lesson of giving. I miss playing pokemon cards

Legend has it he is still there making offers on all his other master sets. Jungle, fossil, base2, gymH, gymC, neo gen, discovery. He can’t find anyone to believe him that he genuinely only wants 40 for the lot.
When I was a kid, I had every card in Fossil & Jungle card, I was only missing Charizard & Chancey from the base set. Cool story, I'm gonna be honest, if I still had all the cards from when I was a kid, I'd be open to selling them for low prices too. I had so many, it was crazy! My mom no knowing the value just outright gave them away without my permission. We were cleaning my room, getting it ready for new carpet & my mom figured since I stopped collecting them years ago that it was alright to throw them away. She basically got rid of my entire Pokemon collection minus two discs from Pokemon 2000 of which I think I got from cereal boxes. One has Lugia on it & the other has Slowking. Pretty cool that you were able to do that, I woulda freaked if that happened to me, it would be like going back to my childhood again.
***** Its not the first ever set unless it says 1st edition, therefore you have the set before the 2 edition base sets there were 1st edition the ones you have and 2 edition but they were marked with a 2 over a pokeball

Haha love your vid! In my personal opinion, I don't like to put my Pokémon cards back to back because when you leave them like that for a long time, you try to take them apart and they tear. Just a little tip of mine when I collect Pokémon cards!

Everyone puts Pokémon Cards in a different order. I used to number them by # and not by Set. So once I got the first ones #1-151 I started putting them into Sets instead. It gives you the "right" overview of all the Pokémons that you need to "Catch them all".
And now I got complete sets of:
Base Set 1
Jungle
Fossil
Base Set 2
Many first editions, Shining Celebi, Shining Charizard, Shining Mew, Shining Magikarp, Shining Gyrados, Shining Raichu, Shining Kabutops etc...
And soon to be the following sets and Shining, Light, Dark ones.
Takes time and loads of money if u want them in great condition!... lol
But it's loads of fun!

I have so many of the cards you have!! I remember buying one full deck (still got all the trainer and energy cards) and probably a couple expansion packs and trades. This was almost or over 10 years ago. Its still in my drawer. That's a really cool feeling 😊

I actually experienced something similar. I was at a gas station with my father some years ago, and was trying to find those Pokeballs toys with a Pokemon and candy in it. I could't find any of them in my country anymore. I then ask the guy in the store, if he knows, if the store was gonna get some Pokeballs anytime soon. And then.... He told me, that he was going to order some for the store. I was shocked! So he told me, that next time, I visit the store, I should just call for him.
When I got out, I actually didn't believe him. He was probably just trying to be friendly right? Right?! So perhaps like 1 or 2 weeks later, my dad and I happens to stop by the same gas station. Then I suddenly remembered, what happened last time. I was like, okay lets try to call him, can't hurt right?
I ask one of the workers for him. I'm waiting just a little while right. Then he apears! He sees me, and I gently ask him about those Pokeballs. And his reaction was fast! He immidiately remembered, told me to wait, and then he went to the back. When he came back, he had this box with dozzens of Pokemon Merchandise! There was Pokeballs with Pokemon, Pokemon figures in little bags, and some other stuff. I could'nt believe it!
So, I look down in my surprise, then he asks me, how much I'd give for em. I didn't know what to say! I was poor, and really didn't have that much money to spend. So I gently asked him, what he though the prise should be. He replied.... 50 Norwegian Crowns! And now, that is not very much money! It's basically the same price for a normal Pokemon TCG booster pack! My father just answered yes, and paid for em.
So I actually got home, with a box full of Pokemon, for such little money! I was so happy, and just opened em all up at home. But wait, there is more. In the box, there was a paper, which was the receipt of the box, which was the receipt of the guy who bought the box with all the Pokemon! I looked.... and it said..... 500! O_O All I can say, is that the guy, sure was a god...

Clefairy Doll is actually pretty decent within the context of the Base-Fossil metagame, along with Mysterious Fossil. Great in Do the Wave (Wigglytuff) decks since you can put them down to fill your bench to do more damage with Wigglytuff while not risking them getting Gust of Winded and then oneshotted.

so looking at your collection i have like 4 of almost you have from the base set and alot from other sets, honestly i dont even know what i have as in value speaking and it seems like im lucky to have saved these cards from when i was younger.
when I stopped playing with the cards, my mum put the complete base set (in an awesome little official folder thing), AND another 2000 various common/uncommon/trainer cards onto eBay. They were advertised as "pokemon cards bundle". The picture just shown a stack of cards with no reference to the gems that lie within. It sold for £19. The person who bought it quickly had listings for the holos etc. That made me feel horrible!

It's amazing how many cards people accumulate over the years. I remember this one guy came into the game store I was at and he had bags and bags AND BAGS of cards trying to sell them. They were all trash-bag size bags too! Another time the store had bought some cards and there was a kiddie pool filled to overflowing with Magic cards and they were trying to sort through them all. :0

he did rip the guy off.unlimited base set charizard cost about 35 alone.venusuar and blastoise about 5-10each.the set would have easily cost 100 over even if its unlimited.

I remember years ago I was on Holiday in Spain and I was going around a bootfair and an English seller was there with a folder stuffed with all Pokemon cards from the base set. I almost passed out when he said all the holo cards (including Charizard) were €1 each.
Also back in the UK, I found a sealed copy of the Southen Islands promo set and that was £2. I still have it in my collection. I'm never gonna sell it.
I have most of the Black Star promo cards. Never heard of the Southern Islands promos. Interesting.......
Take them out of that binder right now, and put them in individual hard plastic sleeves. binders are notorious for creating seems and creases in cards.
Wow, you are extremely lucky. On average, if you were to get that entire base set on eBay, most sellers would want $100-200+ dollars for it

well the base set isn't worth. that much, the 1st edition as set on the other hand, that's where the money is at most cards from the non 1st edition base set are worth cents.. I had a HUGE stack of holo non 1st editions and I looked everywhere to find a price and even took them to a card shop and they told me they can't give me anything.. like he wasn't trying to low ball me by giving me a low offer he just told me to take them and go because he didn't want them due to the lack of 1st edition cards. so this stack he got was actually a reasonable price

on a facebook page i bought base set complete with loads of common uncommon doubles in the binder for £10. The charizard and blastoise were in bad condition but the rest were mint.

Something like this happened to my friend in high school. Our art teacher saw him playing MtG and brought in her old cards to give to him. She had bought the cards when they first came out because of the artwork. In the cards she gave him, was a complete set of Power Nine. I think some even had duplicates. He was like.. uhhh I can't take this, these are worth a ridiculous amount of money. She was like whatever, I didn't pay that much for them. Here, they are yours.

This is the most common of the base sets. I complete these sets on ebay all the time for 50-100. The real money is the shadowless base set and the 1st edition shadowless base set.

Man I sold my Pokemon cards back in the day for like probably 20 dollars as a little 6 year at my family garage sale. I had most of those. I either bought tech decks or saved up for a gameboy advanced with that money I'm not to sure.
