Exiles / Eternals aren't exciting me much aside from Arishem, whereas this month looks a lot more fun and diverse for a variety of decks.

Gwenpool seems like a hope summers, Ms.Marvel, type of season pass card that can be plugged in many decks.
Yeah she for sure sounds like she can be slotted into a number of decks. Like everything but Cerebro really.
This also supports the theory that SD seem to release really good Season Pass cards that end up getting nerfed later. I can see it changing to +1 power since you can Zabu T2, Wong T3 then Gwenpool T4 on the Wong to get her effect off twice.

@@MrMelonGuyDude Since 2023 we've had 10 out of 16 Season Pass cards change. Only Ghost Spider and Phoenix Force were buffs and those cards are still weak and barely played.
Not sure when you started playing but I started in the Loki season. That started 3 straight months of OP cards that eventually got nerfed.

@@user-sp9po5qi9qwhy do you think so ? On 4 if you target Deadpool, then on 5 you can Deadpool plus venom. Then 6 you can taskmaster Deadpool. It's definitely strong in destroy without question.

gwenpool actually comes from a variant of a comic but she was so popular that they made her into a real character that is from OUR universe pulled into the comics

I think it was Gwen Stacy month? Chris Bachalo drew the Gwen/Deadpool cover (where she was on a swimming pool) and that was the start of the whole thing. I hope the cover is released as variant 😊
They have since retcon her into being a mutant with strong reality warping powers that manifested from a past trauma to protect her from the truth.

Hydra Bob is 4 stars for me. On T6 he moves away from a location you lost anyways, potentially winning a location.

He isn’t good, just average, why would you waste a turn intentionally playing something to lose a location when you can just play something else better to win a location in the first place?
You also then have to keep slots open in the other lanes for him to move in the first place

HYDRA BOB: I was hoping he’d be ridiculous😂 interestingly Bob wouldn’t guarantee a win, he only moves from a losing location, not necessarily going to try to win you won. I kinda like that!
Copycat: Becoming Hela so you know your opponent won’t draw it, but also tells your opponent you won’t, if you play it. Intriguing gameplay I think!
Ajax: Right in affliction decks.
Cass Nova: I hate Scorpion, this maybe just the same😂 but might be good with Darkhawk decks! Afflicting rocks with -1 sounds nasty!
I like Hydra Bob because even though he doesn't try to guarantee you a win.. you are already losing the lane. That is 5 wasted power that he will then move and contribute to a different location. And there are a lot of locations you can't play into, Sanctum, Luke's Bar, Death's Domain, etc... If you fill out the only other lane, you can manipulate Bob to go to that lane your opponent probably does not have any cards in. Otherwise if you are winning that location, there is no need for him to move anyway. Plus he's cheap so it doesn't require as much investment as Captain Marvel and he helps you keep priority early game without the downsides of Lizard or Silk. Your opponent may not want Bob to move either, making it kind of an anti-aggro psychological card.

Why not just say "afflict cards in the opponent's deck with -1 power"? But if she drains and takes that power, that's insanely powerful. They could have like 10 cards in the deck and they lose 10 ans you gain 10 on a 3-cost. The wording is confusing 😂
Who knows if it'll be relevant but one thing to remember with Copycat is that adding cards to their deck (just rocks currently) shuffles the deck. So you could steal their ability and then shuffle the deck so they draw this leeched card. Maybe it'll see play in Dark Hawk, probably not.

I was kinda hard on copycat at first too, but I’ve come to think she’s a generally valuable card (that I don’t think you need in Mill!) because she’s a 3/5 with HIGH potential upside and low potential downside. Plus, imagine your opponent plays Corvus and doesn’t discard hela, but copycat has already told you they don’t have hela FOR FREE. Knowing a card they don’t have is just a nice little cube equity bonus on top of being a 3/5 with high potential upside.
I think you are undervaluing Copycat because you are thinking about it in mill.
People play good cards in their deck and 3/5 is a good base power to have.
When she gets a good power, she has that 'surprise' factor which is so important to winning high cube games.
I agree. She's basically Cable without spending the energy. You get information that your opponent doesn't have. She'd be nuts for sure.
I am wondering how the steal will be shown, I feel if both players see what ability is stolen, she won’t be as good… but not sure if that’s a deal breaker

@@PapaSmerf008 yeah, was thinking the same, but if both players see the stolen text the card is just garbage, maybe they reason that by saying that would be unfair for your op not knowing what they lost for free, since copycat works from hand and ins not a mandatory play

So the lore with Gwenpool and Deadpool is she comes from our world and her name is Gwen Poole and she is Marvel Comics fan, she knows lots about all characters in Marvel except for Deadpool, she never read any Deadpool comics. Her power is basically she knows the strengths and weaknesses of all the characters, so she can exploit weaknesses.
It's not really a power so much as it is knowledge, as she doesn't have any knowledge of characters from comics she never read or characters that were created after she came to the marvel comics universe. Additionally, she can also do some interesting stuff with her medium awareness through the gutter space aka the white space between comic panels, which she can enter and manipulate.

Gwenpool seems like a really fun replacement for Nakia in a surfer deck. Magik on 3, Wong on 4 and then Gwenpool on 5 would boost your Brood and Shaw by an insane amount. Throw down a Sera on 6 and you'll have a massive turn 7 burst

While Copycat's home is probably gonna be in Mill, she might also work in Dark Hawk, ironically. Unless I'm mistaken, the rocks will actually shuffle deck, which could cause the bottom card to actually get drawn. Then again, it could also, and Korg could throw a rock on the bottom of the deck before you draw her.

I once made a similar custom card to Cassandra Nova.
Jack of Hearts: 5|0 When you end your turn with unspent energy, drain 1 power from all your other cards in play.
Kinda because of his connection to the hulks in the comics and his draining abilities.
When they made Ghost Spider (at the time called spider Gwen) they made “Gwen” versions of a lot of characters, as like fun art and nothing more. But the people got real attached to the Deadpool one, so they turned her into her own character! Deadpool is a comic character that knows he’s in a comic book, and Gwen is a real person who reads comics that got stuck in a comic book! They’ve hung out occasionally, but Gwen actually thinks Deadpool’s humor is crude and gets mad when his speech bubbles cover up the background art, haha
The important thing about copycat is that you know one card that your opponent won’t draw. Could be crucial

I'm surprised when you were talking about Gwenpool that you didn't mention her paired with Sebastian Shaw. If we can get it to work, it could make for some crazy decks.
I like when card releases sync with movies. Also Gwenpool can now be seen outside of that one Jeff variant.
Personally I liked the original gwenpool version . The 1/2 on reveal double this cards power (I think that’s what it was) but this version is also interesting

Cassandra also worth noting is a natural counter to Thanos or other cards that increase deck size. Explains the 3 cost as a tech card.
Ajax text didn't specify the side of the board. So I'm guessing he'll work with Mary really well.

What I like about Copycat is it's the first time we're getting into On Draw design space, which I think is long overdue.

I’ve been hyped for Gwenpool since her card file leaked over a year ago!!
I'd say Cassandra might go well in a full Ronan package, with Mold included. Afflicted could also be like a new effect of permanently losing power, w/o any meaning of getting it back. Also, Gwenpool could be the best card yet for buffing your Sebastian Shaw, I can see it shine in Silver Surfer.
Gwenpool synergizes with Sebastian Shaw too. Crazy you might have a Turn 4 Gwenpool, Turn 5 Sera that leads into a VERY beefy Sebastian Shaw before it even hits the board PLUS you pair it with Silver Surfer and another 3 cost like Killmonger who destroys the Nova.
For Ajax, who would you replace in a High Evo deck? Armor/Caiera?
I've been waiting to see Cassandra. Ajax is surprising and looks cool. Can I please have Dormammu, Mephisto, The Mandarin, The Adversary and Cyber in that order.
Nova may go nicely with Darkhawk decks, or against Thanos. Curious to see how she goes... It seems like she lower each card by one power (drain versus maybe "absorb"?). If you can play on turn 3, even against a standard deck, the -1 to the enemy deck and giving it to Nova is pretty great for 3 cost.

Copycat might synergize with Korg and Rockslide, since they shuffle your opponent’s deck, making the opponent more likely to draw the silenced card.
Gwenpool seems fun. Copycat's interesting as her info can be game winning. Ajax is very strong "if" he works alongside LukeCage. Cassandra can potentially be 2/7 base strength with Ravonna then another -6 to enemy's deck.
If Cassandra Nova gains the power and afflicts, that seems like a god tier card on curve. Pair that with Absorbing man and you got a win before turn 5 in many situations. All the cards seem good and mostly all in a certain archetype besides Gwen and Bob who should be pretty versatile cards. July will be fun and Luke Cage is going to be a must have in many decks lol
Copycat seems to me like a good Loki card. You get information about what deck your opponent is playing and what they will not draw (both important information) and sometimes you steal a great ability. If you don't, you just Loki her away.
I thought of Gwenpool and well, Deadpool
Honestly these all seem pretty balanced to me, mainly because we have the counters to deal with them. Gwenpool is a greedy deck kind of card but can be handled with Shadow King and/or Shang-Chi; Hydra Bob is great mobile power but doesn't necessarily win you the game when he moves like Captain Marvel; Ajax can reach solid power but hates Rogue, Enchantress and possibly Red Guardian; Copycat is a pretty good intel card and could provide some great high roll possibilities while being kept in check by the randomness; and Cassandra can be ruined by Shadow King. The thing I particularly like about Cassandra though is that if played on curve against either Thanos or Arishem decks she can really ramp out some power. Definitely looking forward to this season!
I didn’t notice the “when you draw this” text for copycat and it just kinda worries me if cards just keep doing things that punish your opponent for existing. You don’t even have to *play* this card for it to hurt your opponent and the only way to attack your opponents hand is with black widow or discard, neither of which would really stop her anyway…
Ajax in toxic/toxic surfer decks is gonna be a lot of fun
I like the idea of forcing a retreat with Copycat if you show them on turn 3 or 4 what they're not going to draw, like Living Tribunal or Silver Surfer
I think Cassandra is going to be a big card for Hazmat decks.
You know, there are more datamines! Next Season gonna be young avengers with Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Speed, Hulking, and Wiccan as brand new card (some of them base card are leaked too). Also, there are leaked datamines after young avengers. Madame Web season and Symbiote season.

If Cassandra is played T3 with no extra draws, it would be equivalent to a 3/13. I think it’s more likely she will just afflict the opponents deck, making it a 3/7.
copycat looks amazing for early snap against combo deck, imagine getting an hella or a Luke cage turn 1, you can snap and your opponent don't know yet that they are screw

I am unbelievably hyped for Gwenpool, since she's my favorite character from the comics. She looks broken, but I have no clue what her ability has to do with her character. Nevertheless, the Deadpool season just gained a lot more value for me.

Gwenpool looks awesome but there’s no way that card isn’t getting nerfed before release. She make a ton of cards go off like crazy as is.

what happens when you put copycat in lockjaw and draw it a second time?
Copycat feels like Iron Lad, Cable, and Spiderham combined but it's opposite day. How I interpret her ability is that when she steals the opponent's last card's ability, that card basically becomes the pig, keeping the power and cost but no ability. The opponent won't know what they lost until they draw the card, usually late game. On first glance, mil decks may be the best home for her but I would not rule out her potential.

Copycat is pretty dope. Steal info of which card they missing, don’t have to pay it at all to get that info, and maybe it’s a great ability on a fairly started 3-5. I like it.

If Cassandra Nova gets +1 power from 0-power and negative power cards then she'll be 5 stars for sure. She is a card that works extremely well against Thanos. Yet another nerf to Thanos but in a different way.
I can see Copycat in a toxic deck or maybe bounce so if it gets a bad effect you bounce it back with Beast so it's off the board. I was also thinking a non-meta Destroy deck since you can play it in an empty lane on T3 then destroy it if it's a bad effect.

Copy cat seems like it will be good depending on the deck you are facing, and meh on others. Some decks itll be benifit to steal that text from if you cant mill quick enough, others younwont want to steal thentext from
Y’all are going to laugh at me but I think Copycat will slot in nicely with Ronin, Yondu, Gladiator, Master Mold, and Maximus. Maximus and her are a match made in heaven.

I feel like SD didn't learn their lesson from the discard-heavy spotlight month. They're going to end up nerfing hazmat, A- bomb or Hi Evo Cyclops at the end of July in response when they don't want to nerf their new releases.

Drain in most games works with hp but in marvel snap she is probably taking the power
Just realised Ajax is the same design as the Agony card I posted in the Discord, albeit with differing stats.
Martyr should be a 2 energy 7 power and be able to loose you the game by jumping to your opponents side encouraging you to lock them up
Against combo decks copycat will be nice especially if drawn early. If hela is gone, annihilus is gone, Phoenix force is gone, whatever it might be. I dont think it'll be top tier but a nice to have card as long as the combo decks are in the meta.
