میرے گفتار کی دیرینہ روش زندہ ہے
آج بھی ظلم کے ناپاک رواجوں کے خلاف
میرے سینے میں بغاوت کی خلش زندہ ہے
جبر-و-سفاکی-و-طغیانی کا باغی ہوں میں
نشئہ قوّتِ انسان کا باغی ہوں میں
جہل پروردہ یہ قدریں یہ نرالے قانون
ظلم-و-عدوان کی ٹکسال میں ڈھالے قانون
تشنگی نفس کے جزبوں کی بجھانے کے لئے
نو انساں کے بنائے ہوئے کالے قانون
ایسے قانون سے نفرت ہے عداوت ہے مجھے
ان سے ہر سانس میں تحریک بغاوت ہے مجھے
تم ہنسوگے کہ یہ کمزور سی آواز ہے کیا
جھنجھنایا ہوا، تھرّایا ہوا ساز ہے کیا
جن اسیروں کے لیے وقف ہیں سونے کے قفس
ان میں موجود ابھی خواہشِ پرواز ہے کیا
آہ! تم فطرتِ انسان کے ہمراز نہیں
میری آواز، یہ تنہا میری آواز نہیں
انگنت روحوں کی فریاد ہے شامل اس میں
سسکیاں بن کے دھڑکتے ہیں کئ دل اس میں
تہ نشیں موج یہ توفان بنیگی اک دن
نہ ملیگا کسی تحریک کو ساحل اس میں
اسکی یلغار میری زات پے موقوف نہیں
اسکی گردش میرے دن رات پے موقوف نہیں
ہنس تو سکتے ہو، گرفتار تو کر سکتے ہو
خوار رسوا سرِ بازار تو کر سکتے ہو
اپنی قہار خدائی کی نمائش کے لئے
مجھے نزرِ رسن-و-دار تو کر سکتے ہو
تم ہی تم قادرِ مطلق ہو، خدا کچھ بھی نہیں؟
جسمِ انساں میں دماغوں کے سوا کچھ بھی نہیں
آہ یہ سچ ہے کہ ہتھیار کے بل بوتے پر
آدمی نادر-و-چنگیز تو بن سکتا ہے
ظاہری قوت-و-سطوت کی فراوانی سے
لینن-و-ہٹلر-و-انگریز تو بن سکتا ہے
سخت دشوار ہے انسان کا مکمّل ہونا
حق-و-انصاف کی بنیاد پے مکمّل ہونا
आज भी मेरे ख़यालों की तपिश ज़िंदा है,
मेरे गुफ़्तार की देरीना रविश ज़िंदा है।
आज भी ज़ुल्म के नापाक रिवाजों के ख़िलाफ़,
मेरे सीने में बग़ावत की ख़लिश ज़िंदा है।
जब्र-ओ-सफ़्फ़ाकी-ओ-तुग़्यान का बाग़ी हूँ मैं,
नश्शा-ए-क़ुव्वत-ए-इंसान का बाग़ी हूँ मैं।
जहल परवरदा ये क़दरें, ये निराले क़ानून,
ज़ुल्म ओ अदवान की टकसाल में ढाले क़ानून।
तिश्नगी नफ़्स के जज़्बों की बुझाने के लिए,
नौ-ए-इंसां के बनाये हुए काले क़ानून।
ऐसे क़ानून से नफ़रत है, अदावत है मुझे,
इनसे हर साँस में तहरीक-ए-बग़ावत है मुझे।
तुम हँसोगे कि ये कमज़ोर सी आवाज़ है क्या!
झनझनाया हुआ, थर्राया हुआ साज़ है क्या!
जिन असीरों के लिए वक़्फ़ हैं सोने के क़फ़स,
उनमें मौजूद अभी ख़्वाहिश-ए-परवाज़ है क्या!
आह! तुम फ़ितरत-ए-इंसान के हमराज़ नहीं,
मेरी आवाज़, ये तन्हा मेरी आवाज़ नहीं।
अनगिनत रूहों की फ़रियाद है शामिल इसमें,
सिसकियाँ बन के धड़कते हैं कई दिल इसमें।
तह नशीं मौज ये तूफ़ान बनेगी इक दिन,
न मिलेगा किसी तहरीक को साहिल इसमें।
इसकी यलग़ार मेरी ज़ात पे मौक़ूफ़ नहीं,
इसकी गर्दिश मेरे दिन-रात पे मौक़ूफ़ नहीं।
हँस तो सकते हो, गिरफ़्तार तो कर सकते हो,
ख़्वार-ओ-रुस्वा सर-ए-बाज़ार तो कर सकते हो।
अपनी क़ह्हार ख़ुदाई की नुमाइश के लिए,
मुझको नज़्र-ए-रसन-ओ-दार तो कर सकते हो।
तुम ही तुम क़ादिर-ए-मुतलक़ हो, ख़ुदा कुछ भी नहीं?
जिस्म-ए-इंसां में दिमाग़ों के सिवा कुछ भी नहीं।
आह! ये सच है कि हथियार के बल-बूते पर,
आदमी नादिर-ओ-चंगेज़ तो बन सकता है।
ज़ाहिरी क़ुव्वत-ओ-सितवत की फ़रावानी से,
लेनिन-ओ-हिटलर-ओ-अंग्रेज़ तो बन सकता है।
सख़्त दुश्वार है इंसां का मुकम्मल होना,
हक़-ओ-इंसाफ़ की बुनियाद पे अफ़ज़ल होना।

ہنس تو سکتے ہو، گرفتار تو کرسکتے ہو۔
