She saw him mentally go apart all these years and prevented him from doing the same thing again, and she told him go one more time and finish off on a good note. Even if he doesn't win anything, this season he really built something for the future again. He will be proud and leave, that's for sure. Last year if he left he would've been really sad about it and regretted it. Now he will have peace of mind. That's why an important spouse matters. And honestly I don't know if she really was the reason this time round, but I've heard that many times before she was pivotal in helping him make good decisions for himself.
