Serious question for you three. what does a man like me have to do to win in such a show? is it even possible? looking at the footage I'm aware of structural insupremecy but size condition posing I feel I was at may current best. is this simply you don't have his shape and cant win? I know i wont ever be Mr Olympia however I feel like id like to have more understanding. Also AJ is my brother and i love him so not trying to say anything negative lol simply asking for my own know how. Always learning. especially after Milos supportive comments which surprised me.

This comment is just another example of what a class act you are, James, and why so many people are invested in your journey. Always looking to better yourself, always open to learning and improving, with no chip on your shoulder. Your showing at this show was incredible and I look forward to seeing you crack that top 10 at the Olympia in the future. Keep doing the UK proud man. I hope to see you compete live for myself one day.

You need more muscle separation imo. And maybe bring your arms up a bit. You looked massively improved at the Arnold and your posing was much better too. I remember Levrone saying insulin caused his muscle separation to diminish. It might be asking a bit much for an open guy but a semi vacuum during the front bi would look sick

  • @MilosSarcevOfficialYoutubePage

    Hi James.
I read this question and of course, I would give you my honest opinion.
And you must understand that this comes from someone like you, that was in a similar situation back in my competitive days.
Back in 90’s - I had Dorian, Flex, Kevin, Shawn, Nasser, Ronnie, Chris, Lee, Paul…to name a few…
You think I was preparing for the shows thinking - I am going to win…and beat all these guys?
No, I didn’t…I knew my place and I was content with battling with them and just being in the mix… hoping that I can catch some of them in some of the shows…
    And I did.
I stayed in the “game”, competing for 13 years and having my ass kicked…71 out of 72 times I competed…
    Should’ve I quit long before I did?
No way! I had fun…I never felt like a loser..
I understand that some guys consider even second place - being the first loser and their “winners mentality mindset” would dictate that everything except winning is a failure and they don’t train for second place….Well, I did…and enjoyed every moment of it…and I would suggest you to do the same…You are one of the guys…Enjoy your status, position…and fact that you have a huge following - FOR A GOOD REASON.
You are well respected and liked and I am sure you inspire thousands…
To answer your question: what do you need to do to win in such a show - is just to keep bringing your best and try to work on necessary improvements.
    You are every bodybuilder's bodybuilder…
We all respect you for being such a hardcore, super strong, super thick, big, muscular, round, powerful guy…
But, as you already mentioned - your “structural insupremecy” will be compared with someone like AJ…and judges will undoubtedly see it.
Considerably wider structure, more pronounced V-taper, visibly more chiseled, striated, fibrotic muscles, shape, aesthetics and wow factor will turn judges heads for sure and how can you expect them not to favor competitor like that?
    Should you be discouraged?
    Hell no!
You gave a superior guy a run for his money…and beat him for sure in back double biceps pose…and I am sure that many people see you being super competitive in the rear lat spread, side chest and side triceps…and its not like you looked bad in other poses - but you just didn’t win them…
You already won more pro shows than I did…and you are a factor in every show…by all means.
Get your abs deeper (yes you can if you keep doing stretching exercises for depth - like hanging leg raises and high pulley cable crunches - when you stretch in each rep feeling that gap between abs is getting deeper)… focus on expanding a ribcage (loads of pullovers) and learn to get your lats out more in front relax and front double biceps….Try to cover as much space behind you…
I know - It is hard to teach old dog new tricks and I am sure you are used to each and every pose the way you do it…but try to improve on them.
Think of width and whatever you can do to get your lats out to create the biggest V-taper…Imagine if your lats from the front look as wide as rear lat spread…(if you got your lats to be that wide in this pose - there is conformation that in whatever position, whatever you are doing during that pose - you managed to pop them out…so try the same in other poses too…Of course it would be super uncomfortable for a while…until you get it…
Finally, I would keep refining and bringing more striations out…squeezing like a maniac….Of course, it would be practically impossible for you to change your training style as you are a powerhouse and feel alive only if you lift the house of your back…tons of weight…but really - how long do you think your body, tendons, ligaments and muscles will be lucky to avoid injuries, wear and tear…You already have tons of muscle…my suggestion is to refine it…(probably impossible for you to accept….but you asked for my opinion and that’s what I would sincerely tell you to do)…
Be sure that I only wish you the very best…
I am still a fan of the sport and I appreciate you very much…of course - IF I can help you with any advice - I would do it in a heart-beat….thus - as you see - I took the time to answer you here and make it public (even though I am sure some haters will jump to criticize me…but I could care less for that…
    Take care!

This interaction right here is why I love the sport. A great competitor of his era talking to one in the mix today. Just excellent. Could we do this 10 or 20 years ago with almost instant feedback, probably not. It's refreshing and helpful. It's welcoming. In all seriousness I really hope Milos does his own show or something. I enjoy listening to him talk from his competitors to even the jokes about diuretics...those are jokes right 🤫. Even if it's a posing seminar or shorts just to give an unknown bodybuilder some air time and have someone who knows the business of bodybuilding show someone how to properly pose like the best to ever do it.

I don't know, in my opinion you looked the most complete on that stage, full, and from the back and side you had an edge over the others. Especially your lower back is great, much better than the others. I also see that calves don't matter anymore (AJ has really high insertions and being taller doesn't look too good). Your quads from the front were the best, Aj has no adductor separation at all. I had you first, Martin 2nd, Aj 3 or 4th. Btw, I am not a fan of you, just trying to be as objective as possible.
I believe the hype behind AJ will fade once people will start pointing out his weaknesses more and more if he will not improve them. Good luck! and stay strong!

About the plane window thing I remember it was in case of 1.if plane has a sudden electricity problem, the light will allow fly attendants to still see outside(if it’s day time), so that they can react immediately and accurately. 2.if there’s sudden weather change, fly attendants will be able to see that immediately instead of having pilot come in and tell them.

IMO Jamie should seriously look at taking the Martyn Ford Route. I'm not hating when I say it but I struggle to see how he can win a pro show. Again, it's not his fault he turned out so tall, but just how much muscle he needs to add to that frame to be competitive is asking too much.

    • @tyronehartmann50
      @tyronehartmann50 Před rokem

Apologies for the typo, it’s supposed to be frame to muscle and not grime to muscle. The only reason for me agreeing with what Milos in his explanation is that you do get bodybuilder that are shorter and they are being overlooked and focus on the actual muscle mass that’s been applied to the frame is not accurately compared. Now moving on to the more directly aimed bodybuilder that he was referring to Jamey the giant hope I got that correct, that dude is absolutely huge and with a frame that size it’s not a easy task to slap on full and round muscle as it would for the average bodybuilder. Even though there are statements made that he can improve a lot on his current look i obviously agree that he can improve but I truly think that he should have place better than what he did. In conclusion my previous statement goes both ways and did not fully agree with the outcome of the top five decision of the judges this past weekend.

Airplanes companies' policies are so weird sometimes, but here's the 'official' reason behind the opened windows and lights "in case of emergency situations the cabin crew has a few minutes to evacuate the plane, and if the curtains are pulled up, you can immediately see the external conditions. Likewise, rescuers outside the aircraft can immediately see what is happening inside.
Another reason is that by keeping the blinds open, the passengers themselves can also help report any anomalies to the cabin crew, who may be engaged in other duties and not immediately notice anything unusual."

The opening of the window is just not policy, its a safety issue, when the plane encounters an accident when landing the rescuers can see thru the window if there are still survivors in that side of the plane or if there is fire. That is the explanation behind it.

Judging is soo confusing in bodybuilding...they should set some criteria. They should clearly set out rules as to what matters more. The best way to do it IMO is to set points for each like- conditioning: 1pnt, symmetry: 1 pnt, proportions: 1 pnt, muscle mass: 1 pnt, and so on. Then for each pose rate each of the athletes based on the above mentioned points, so for example in the front double andrew takes 3 points because of size, symmetry, proportions, james takes 2 points because of size, conditioning , and so on. Then at the end add the points and whoever has the most points wins.....I think this is extremely fair. The competitors will have an idea at the end as to why they are losing/ winning so they can improve. Now if the ifbb wants to move in a certain direction, lets say they want to prioritize size and shape over conditioning, Then just assign 2 pnts for size and shape and 1 pnt for conditioning. simple. It doesnt have to be soo subjective. These guys are not willing to sit down and actually think...SMH

In my opinion James was the best combination of condition density size n shape in this line up on that day, his condition was far better than Andrews, density better, James doesn't have a terrible shape I actually think James has a great shape, the only places Andrew obviously beats James is Ab definition and shoulder width but other than that I think James was better on the day

  • @josef253

I thought it was common knowledge when you travel that you cannot take any cologne or body spray more then a certain amount onto the plane. Reason for this is because they are highly flammable and someone can use it to start a fire. To put everyone on the flight in danger because you want to take your expensive cologne is quite selfish.
And the reason people need to put blinds up for landing is because of safety. If there is an emergency the staff on the plane need a clear view outside so they know it’s safe to open doors or deploy emergency exit protocols. There are good reasons for protocols on the plane just follow them and all is ok and chances of accidents happening lessens.

I think Andrews symmetry, proportion , and ideal structure is superior to these guys. I had Martin winning the front double and rear lat. his symmetry looked off from the rear , as from what I could see, there were possibly some imbalances in the rear delts. Hollingshead looked great, but in my opinion, the legs are just so overpowering. Yes, that brings the freak factor, but in my observation (purely subjective) your looking for the complete package. I think the way Andrew transitioned, and the way he hit those shots after that front double was really incredible. Andrew has some of the best poise and presentation in the current ifbb. Just my opinion. I would love to see more comparisons between Andrew jacked and a guy like nick walker. And good for Martin to hang it up this season. These guys should always prioritize health, and I’m praying he is patient and smart with his contest selections. Just my opinion.

This is due to situations in the past where people have constructed explosives from mixtures of liquids masked as toiletries and perfumes. They can't outright ban but rules were introduced to reduce the risks. There is always one terrorist that ruins it for everybody
