      I never cared for the narrow landing gear on the 109...the 190 looks much meaner with its wide track gear...

  • @sblack48
    @sblack48 Před 5 lety +5

    What is it about the ground stance of smaller replicas that doesn't quite look right? Is the gear too short? I know it is hard to shrink a plane with the pilot staying the same size and you probably have to tweak the wing size a bit. It's still an awesome project and looks to be nicely built.

    I want to build a P51 Mustang Replica for display, I have some sponsors here who help me with free materials and services. I want to use the drawings of mr. Marcel Jurca to do the parts and assembly, but the drawings are in PDF, and I want an assumed, responsible, serious volunteer (free of charge!!!) CAD engineer to help me redraw the drawings from the PDF and put them into DXF files, so it can be easily cut on CNC from plywood, aluminium, steel etc... I have some progress on the frames and formers (pictures attached). The Mustang will be displayed for a new aviation museum project I am currently developing. The CAD engineer will be mentioned on the sponsor's list on the project website.

    Problem in full scale is the engine. Much more cost to add for a 1000 hp or more hp engine in budget and during flight. People with money can afford it - but don't build replicas;0)))) Homebuilders are not always the rich people;0))) Or in other words: rich people have no time - and when you have time - you are mostly not rich,0))))

    I meant a white supremacist. I'm part of a group the do living history of WWII airmen. We also work closely with a group that do a Luftwaffe living history. History we feel it must be remembered as a learning lesson not hate. Our group is the Airmens Preservation Society and the other group is LARA(Luftwaffe Aircrew Re-enactment Association) ? Doing this for over 25 years and meeting many vets both allied and axis their stories are incredible. So after this long winded explanation it's history NOT hate about my statement.

      1. 1. Russia appeared after the collapse of the USSR only recently. You mean Soviet aircraft? There was no sickle and hammer, but there were stars.

    80% is easier to build and much more cheaper. In an 100% you need engine from 500 - 1200 hp to get into the air. Think about all the costs, the hangar you need to build in, over years and years.... Last 20 % to get the fullscale means more than double costs....

    I thought at first that this was just a large RC model, but I suppose that once you're bigger than 60-70% you might just as well get in it and "RC" it from inside.

      Right - and what is 20% more then?- shit if you're going 80% then go full scale or go home!

    Just think, if it weren't for "Rich People," there wouldn't be much of this kind of stuff to look at, eh? For LOTS of info on the FW 190, check out "Greg's Airplanes & Automobiles." Great site.

      Hard to find piston engines in the range of 1000hp and more for homebuilders low budget. Mostly the building of the 80% scale aircraft is the way to fly something - instead of nothing! Difference you can see here. 109 80% and 100% side by side. Engines are 130 hp and 450 hp. We will see how it will work out....czcams.com/video/hsFJsRKE05k/video.html

    Why they don't make replicas in 1/1 scale.???
    The windshield is set too low, and the canopy is too big, above scale.
    But congrats, it's a beautiful plane.

    • @FiveCentsPlease
      @FiveCentsPlease Před 5 lety

      +A Rodrigues Flugwerk made 1/1 scale replicas. It's much less expensive for an average owner to buy and operate a scale replica. Engines are affordable and operate at power levels that won't kill the average pilot.
