I stay in Beverley Hill when I visit Jamaica. My sister has a home there.💖💖
dont be fooled jamaica is very very dangerous...im a jamican and they are trying to paint jamaia in a positive light but it is very dangerous..facts...and the kids are oversexualized and dunce culture and negitivity is promoted across the island..the future is not certain for the young as vodoo(obeah) practising is trending all over...
I'm jamaican and when I was a child I thought the majority of Africans were starving because that was the narrative we saw. Since internet and social media and growing up I got more educated and realized that It wasn't true.
Jamaican girl TV that's true that say something that are not true Jamaican girl tv like comment share Subcribe thank you
I concur! I was just in S Africa and a lot of what I heard on media, its quite the opposite while i was there. The people are kind, helpful, intelligent and overall mannered. I notice the same trend about Jamaica and many territories occupied by mostly non-caucasions so I ceased listening to the media and opt to do my own research. The media can be very toxic when its not in their interest.
As an African I always wondered where the narrative we were starving came from cause we all had food and the village was epic.
I told an African friend that was the same narrative we were fed in America when I was growing up. They wanted us to hate Africa. Now I have so many African friends that I learn from and my daughter also studied abroad in Africa and loved it.
We think most Jamaicans are lazy, smoke Ganja all day, are obsessed with S£X and dagger girls by jumping out of trees etc, guess what ? it is true😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

They lied to us about Jamaica! It’s definitely not all you see on TV!
That’s the whole point, we don’t need anymore foreign people when the locals get mistreated and pushed to the back.

Very true
Moral of this episode is, allow your story to be told by you and you only.
And if unfortunately you have to have it told by others, let it not be by the besmirching tounge of colonizer or the imperialist. PERIOD!

Most Jamaicans live in good houses, maybe not mansions, but decent houses. But there are also many ordinary hard working people living in large houses who aren't necessarily rich. The ghettoes that they show you in the media in Jamaica are less than 5% of Jamaica. It's a small area in Kingston.
Aww positive vibration 🫶🏾 wish I could see your face 😊
Actually the lower class makes up 10% but still a small percentage of Jamaica. And the majority of Jamaicans do not smoke weed😂😂
Exactly….the ghetto is basically smaller…we have a large middle class
They are mansions and rich people everywhere in Jamaica
@mobaygirl You know that's not true but carry on......
Jacks Hill, Red Hill, Cooper Hill, Stony Hill, barbican, Meadow Brooks Estate, Mona Height that's just St Andrews Mandeville, St Mary, St James a matter of fact everywhere in Jamaica has beautiful houses and community.

I LOVE JAMAICA 🇯🇲!!!
I will definitely retire there. My father is Jamaican and my mother is Trinidadian 🇹🇹. I never been there but Jamaica I’ve been many times. Jamaica I Love You 😘💕❤️.
You should go ahead now and apply for your Jamaican passport to formalize your citizenship based on your dad. Depending on where you live, you can maintain dual citizenship. It’s also my intention to return to retire there.
You should go to Trinidad also. My niece has been four times: to carnivals, wedding of friends she met at Howard Univ in Wash DC. My other Trini friend has family properties there which she rents out at Carnival time. One of her brothers has retired in Trinidad after living in Canada and the USA. Please explore that part of your heritage also. Regards from a Jamaican in New York.
we should meet when you visit back Jamaica

Jamaica is famed for its beautiful sandy beaches and rich cultural heritage. It is a popular destination for cruise ships. Tourism is one of Jamaica's top sources of revenue. In 2023, 4.5 million tourists were welcomed to the island.
The industry contributes over 50% of the country's total foreign exchange earnings (approx. US$20). Thousands of Jamaicans work directly or indirectly in tourism.
Tourism employs the second largest number of Jamaicans (approximately 200,000) directly in hotels, transport and attractions and indirectly in trading, manufacturing and banking. Many people in key tourist areas, such as Montego Bay, have benefited from an improved quality of life due to tourism.
This island country is fully equipped when it comes to pampering guests, with five-star hotels offering, luxurious suites, gourmet dining world-class spas, private swimming pools, sailing, scuba diving and much more!
The tourism industry earns over 50 percent of the country's total foreign exchange earnings and provides about one-fourth of all jobs in Jamaica.
And how is Cameroon?
@MrFunTasticTV Cameroon is a beautiful country and pretty diverse in many respects. It is often called "Miniature Africa" because it is a microcosm of the African continent, in many respects: the languages, culture, vegetation, landscape, etc.
It is diverse and beautiful 😍 in its diversity
Jamaica is that rebellious black country that just won’t stay poor and mediocre even when it is said that she is poor - on paper.
Oh please ,Jamaica is all races
@@Halfwaytreeclock Jamaica is a Black country; just as the U.S.A/Britain/France is a White country
@@coz2j69 America is a white country??😅😅Yes,England is a white country.Jamaica is a country where most of the population is black not a black country.Yall need to wein from Africa and start living in your own identity.Life is a journey of evolution. We weren't bound to hold on to African tenents.🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇬🇾🇰🇳🇻🇨🇱🇨🇧🇧🇦🇬🇹🇹

We owed a lot Wode Maya we can’t even begin to pay you for all you’ve been doing for us👏👏
Just a point of correction: Nearly 5 million tourists visit Jamaica, and I have not heard of any incident that can be legitimately verified. Also, some of the areas featured in the video are wealthy but they are definitely not the wealthiest. Also, it's FAR more than 1% of Jamaicans live in posh and wealthy neighborhoods.
Jamaican girl TV that's true I love your comment nice Jamaican girl TV like comment share Subcribe thank you
Tourists are rarely affected by crime in Jamaica because the majority of the tourists stay in relatively secure areas and spend usually less a month at a time in Jamaica; the longer the time one spend in a country the more likely one could be the victim of a crime. In addition, crime against tourists(the Non Black ones, the majority) are viewed by the government as very important to solve because the Jamaican government depend on tourism for revenue. Jamaicans (as expected) are the target of the majority of the crime in Jamaica. Jamaica needs to be safe for the Jamaicans
@@coz2j69 Correction: since recently, A LOT of foreigners are venturing into the ghettos in Jamaica (the "crime ridden" parts of Jamaica). Trench Town, for example, is one of the most revered and feared ghettos in Jamaica, which a lot of foreigners frequent. Down Town, Kingston is one massive ghetto (even though there is a lot of development taking place there, especially closer to the water front which is very modern), and many tourists go there. It is a lie to say that tourists don't venture into places that even Jamaicans are afraid to go.
@@jamdawgutube Look at the murder rate of Jamaica. I am more concern about the safety of Jamaicans than of tourist(not wishing crime on tourist)
@@coz2j69 YES, but much of the local-on-local crime is usually people who know each other or gang-related violence
Hey wada Maya, I followed you. I'm in Barbados at Sam lord castle right now. Because of you, things that seemed impossible become possible Thanks once again

free you mind from mental slavery
About seventy percent of the Jamaican population can be classified as lower middle to middle to upper income to rich and wealthy The rest are lower income to poor. It is worth knowing to that many communities similar to Beverly Hills exist in the Corporate Area of Kingston and St Andrew and other parishes throughout Jamaica. Also many of the wealthy people in Jamaica are very educated and highly paid professionals who often own their own businesses .
My beautiful Jamaica 🇯🇲 ❤
I don't know why they feel Caribbean Counties only have a bad side the cairbbean is beautiful 🇯🇲 is beautiful
I appreciate you for portraying Jamaica in a beautiful and positive way, shattering the misconceptions about its safety and showcasing its true essence. Thank you!
I actually prefer Jamaica to remain the best kept secret😂😂
He should not sugar coat it to give a false narrative though, show the good the bad and the ugly, no country is paradise on earth
Wode Maya ❤ this is your era of setting a legacy. I love what you represent 🇯🇲
I love the knowledge that the University lecturer was sharing about real money. One needs to own a business with a constant source of income. That is the definition of wealth.
Indeed! You have to
That's what you call natural beauty and it more than 1% of Jamaicans live like that because the other 13 parishes has breath taken homes especially in St James and Manchester.
Yep, and what's also important is the standard of the middle class in Jamaica, you don't need to live in any of the many wealthy parts of St. Andrew to live in a nice community and build a peaceful life.

You’re so eloquent Wode. People always want to act like we can’t discuss the upper and middle class communities IN AFRICA, yet we are very aware of the wealthy in all the OTHER countries on Earth. So this negatively impacts our sense of pride in our own continent of origin. If no one is acknowledging the so-called 1% in Africa then WODE WILL present them. Yes! Tell them Wode Maya ✨✨✨

A lot of people do not know that even in most ghetto areas have beautiful houses in Jamaica, the lower class people throw partners and build nice houses, and even though some houses may looked shattered, inside is well furnished.

We were born in Africa, they just rejected us.
And to think during this same time, the State department of the USA ANNOUNCED A WARNING TO ITS CITIZENS not to travel to Jamaica, for it was too dangerous according to them, however over 3 million still came to Jamaica, mostly from the same USA,, IT WAS JUST INSANE!!!

The states should warn themselves, yes they are bigger, but their crimes are not even something to talk about…. Morbid is the topic… always.
US is mad because Jamaica received the world Travel destination for 2023…. They don’t like the fact that generated US$4billion …. Mad jealous.. They don’t want Economic independence for such a small country… They rest of Africans and Afrocentric communities may start getting ideas…………..
Why do people listen to those who do not know? As a man thinketh, so is he. Never allow the blind to lead you, who can see.
There's nothing else that i can add to your comment but to say, THANK YOU! You're doing a great job!

Thank you Wodemaya for exposing the real side of Jamaica. Jamaica is a beautiful place to live. Yes we have crime, yes we have some peoplewho are poor, but which country doesn't? Most Jamaicans live in sturdy houses. The average Jamaican house is pretty decent size and very strong structure. Come to Jamaica!!!
Stop feeling guilty.Smh
What do you mean the ‘real’ side of Jamaica? ‘Real’ for whom? This is not the real life of the majority of Jamaicans..
All this is, is ANOTHER side of Jamaica.
Crime ridden sections of Montego Bay are another side of Jamaica. Lush, green, beautiful rural parishes with fresh fruits, beautiful rivers, are another side of Jamaica. The ghettos of downtown Kingston are another side of Jamaica.
So there is no ‘real’(for want of a better word)Jamaica; just different sides of Jamaica, all of which makes it the enviable island that it is.
Thank you Wode Maya , job well done. Keep up the good work. You just make me a very proud Jamaican all over again

I am not sure why a black person would be afraid to visit Jamaica when 95% of the tourists who visit Jamaica are white or other ethnicities- and they tend to go home, after their vacation in Jamaica, in one piece. Jamaica is a place where millions of foreigners visit! Also, Jamaica has a lot of Asians living in Jamaica (Chinese and Indians), and they walk around and no bother gives two fks about them. You, as a black person, would just blend perfectly in.
