If you research Prometheus Ent. that produces the show you mentioned - it will make a lot of sense. Much of what they say in the show is them holding back on what they really think and saying “aliens” to the point it sounds silly to most.

I think he's doing his best to decipher the knowledge that he comes across, he may get some things wrong and others right but i think its important for these speculative discussions based on knowledge available to us are had so others come across them and help decipher. When you study words and the origins of words, it really helps you understand so much more. Our languages and how they’ve evolved over time.
For example the letter J being invented only a couple hundred years ago.
Or how Virgin in ancient times simply meant “unmarried” and had nothing to do with how many people you’ve slept with
