I love the concept, but everyone who has gone off road knows this machine will handle only the mildest of dirt roads and trails. Extreme caution will be the rule. The ground clearance and departure angle due to the length are your major limiting factors. If you look underneath, they have NOT protected the back-underside from dragging. You will rip the rear end to shreds on a rough road. Sweet concept, poor execution. Yet... I still want one.
Can you actually hang a sea kayak in there? what are the dimensions?
The best part about the X is that it’s so low key. With rent as high as it is, many are moving to RV’s. It’s hard to find parking with a full touring RV as they can tell you’re looking to park and set up shop for a little while. With the X, you can essentially park on any street or parking lot, and as long as the front cabin is viewable, they won’t even know you’re there. It doesn’t look like a hotel on wheelsx
Sick!
The Airstream is super awesome 👌👏.
We agree!
I'd take the EEKO!!!!😉
I like it because it’s a rv, luxury van, all weather suv and truck with cargo carrying capabilities. You know , that Home Depot run. Plus in the middle of a snow storm I have no excuse to go camping or even get there. Hydronic heating, so much better than propane.
Is the fold out, center part of that bad supportive enough to support a body sleeping on it? Seems like it would buckle or collapse.
Big $$$$$$
Almost perfect too bad there’s no loft bed option I would buy one
Can you turn those roof lights on while arriving into dark camp from cockpit. Light up everything.
Thanks for the question! However, the controls for the lights are in the back of the Airstream Interstate 24X.
Beautiful coach. Too bad there isn't a modern system, i.e., volta, to replace the generator That's a shame and behind the times.
3:36 - Deal breaker there. Going STO with the cassette.
Have you used one? Not as bad as you might think. Open the door, yank the cassette out and dump in any toilet or restroom. Keep in mind these small RV’s have small tank sizes of about 17 to 20 gallons or less. Cassettes need to be dumped more often, but cost a lot less to do so. And if you promise not to tell anyone, the grey water is also safely dumpable in the woods if you use an evaporator system, and use biodegradable safe for the environment soaps.
My point, if you boondock, and don’t like spending money, cassette toilets work. You aren’t going to be staying out long anyway, due to tank sizes, so why not? It cost $35 every time you use a dump station, and with small tanks, you’re going to be dumping a lot.
@@Erin-Thor Cassette Toilet is the way to go. No Black Tank issues!
@@Steve-yo4ld -- I'm not totally sold on them, just know that they can work for the right situations, RV's, etc. 😊
@@Erin-Thor For me, it's beats being tied to an Authorized Dump Station and hauling around 15, 20, 30 or 40 gallons of raw sewage. And you also eliminate the problem with "Solids" settling in the tank as well as the associated plumbing to the Black Tank! Europe has been using them for years!
@@Steve-yo4ld -- All true. My issue is clogs. You can't REALLY aftermarket install a tank macerator, some (not all) have a black-tank wash system, but you can install a macerating toilet. However they are prohibitively expensive, and have a very poor MTBF history. Keep in mind that the Black Tanks are usually positioned directly below the toilet, so no plumbing other than a doughnut valve, LOL! Getting stuff into the black tank is easy, out is what I have had difficulty with. If you're younger and can life and carry a cassette (yes, most now have wheels.) it's not an issue. And there are free dump stations, and if you stay at an RV park, the dumping /water/electricity are all included.
How many people can fit inside please?
Thanks for reaching out! The 2022 Airstream Interstate 24X has a sleeping capacity for two people.
What is the width of the sliding door
Thanks for the question! The Airstream Interstate 24X's sliding door is approximately 59.5 inches long and roughly 5 inches thick.
Where's the induction stovetop!! Come on guys. They've been the "normal" in Europe at least 20 years.
I'm disappointed that Airstream moved away from their classic look. What's the point of putting it's name on a product that looks like any other camper van?
They also moved away from their legendary quality, all of this new vans are built with very cheap parts...
It probably cost well over $200k not worth it. 4 season truck camper is more practical.
