Old Kerosene Stove Restoration - Vintage Companion Brand.

  • This vintage kerosene stove was made by Companion in Melbourne Australia after WWII - very similar to Primus and Optimus -Sievert Svea.
The Stove is missing a flame splitter which sits on top of the flame jet and spreads it around. Without this piece, the high pressure flame just bursts out which can be dangerous.
At this stage I decided to complete the project without it.
Apologies for the auto zooming - different camera.
Thanks for watching and supporting us.

Even without flame splitter, it is a nice item to save and restore. Great job!

I’ve got about three of these waiting restoration. Your tool to remove the internal valve is something I’ll have to try as I can’t buy one anywhere.
Great job as always mate. I feel your pain with the soldering that kept falling off. Luckily all of mine have solid legs or else they might learn how to fly if I had the same problem soldering.

Thanks for watching mate. Yeah I had a few attempts at making the tool. The internal one is slightly bigger that the injector tip and in an almost invisible spot. Guess work needed.
The soldering was a challenge too...🤣
      Take care my friend 👍👍👩‍🔧

That was great 👍 I spotted one of these at a shop the other day and almost picked it up. After watching you restore this one I wish I had. Soldering that leg back on looked painful. The end result is stunning. I like shiny things.

Thanks mate, much appreciated. Yeah soldering isn't my forte ☺. If I may say, Primus is the one you want. It felt to me that Companion was just a copy cat...🤫👩‍🔧

@@LittleRestorersit's not my forte either. Thanks for the tip. I can't remember what brand it was so I'll have to go back and see if it's still there now.

Neste fogareiro falta o espalhador de fogo do queimador. No site ebay vende todas as peças novas e usadas para este tipo de fogareiro, inclusive fogareiros novos deste e de outros modelos.

Thanks for watching. Yes ,as I mentioned, I order a flame catcher from ebay but the seller cancelled the order as he ran out of stock. So I decided to post the video instead of waiting another month 😉

Great video. Are you able to lock the autofocus on your camera though? Might stop the sudden focus jumps. Edit: just expanded the description and saw the note!
