As a general rule when you go abroad, the consensus is that, if possible avoid staying in a rented place that is owned by Indians and avoid working for an Indian small business.

These people would never ever respect your privacy, stick to you like a leech when they have something to get from you and they would backstab you when you are " of no use to them". They would never care about your feelings. When they have to get rid of you, they would try to pick a fight with you, and when when you will be at the peek of your frustration, they would use that as a leverage and blame you for that. Then they would show you how caring they are towards you and manipulate you in the most horrible way imaginable.
