      The Ashanti’s were imperialistic just like the British even before the whites came. They didn’t want to unify the Akan groups. They only wanted to conquer, rule n subjugate the other Akan groups under them. U can’t achieve unification through war. War only leads to conquest n subjugation.

    For clarification. The Asantes had an alliance with Anlo, a subgroup of the Ewes. Not the entire Ewes. The Asantes used that alliance, together with the Akwamu to fight the Krepi war against the Ewedomes (Ewes living in Peki, Kpando, and Hohoe). Fortunately, the Ewedomes won and gained their freedom from the Akwamu domination.

    • @amoahfrank5162
      @amoahfrank5162 Před 3 měsíci +1

      That might be your own form of history asante became a protectorate. Finally by mid to late 1902 (after the Yaa asantewa war) asante officially and formerly became a british crown colony hence part of the gold coast. Asante prowess gradually decreased as Komfo Anokye predicted. 1902 was the year that asante formerly without any dispute or claime became a region of the gold coast. All of you must stick to the truth. Knowing the truth does not make asante small but rather shows the courage and strength of asante from time past to the present. When asante goes on to make certain statement like it is a country on it's own, it only smacks ridicule. The truth must always prevail.

So who is making his own history. And if you people don’t want just make referendum and kick us out of the Ghana. Because that’s the dream of most Ashanteman today and we shall demand all of our land from the British and not from just Ghana our lands from 1874 till today Ghana

    • @amoahfrank5162
      @amoahfrank5162 Před 3 měsíci

      @@Misty_Blow what does jealousy got to do with my writing? that is the kind of childishness I talk of my own brothers. You don't want to use your head except bs. How would an Asante jealous himself for speaking the truth. I gave you the facts, you ignore it except to say "jealousy" what is jealousy of a reality and facts as I have written here? don't be a zombie who doesn't reason up.
      There is something called Asante pride that seek to preserve Asante identity, that doesn't mean that if you are an Asante and educated, you should avoid facts to embrace solely "pride". Pride without truth brings destruction, and that is what we are experiencing as a country (not as Asante nation - although there is nothing wrong with an appropriate Asante pride).
      I also heard, what Opimsuo said. What would you expect the occupant of sikadwa to say? that Asante was lonely and hard no choice that is why he joined ghana? even a fante chief will not even sit among his people to say that he was conquered... What is the deal? the deal is that, no serious chief especially as grandiose as asantehene would come and say oh I was defeated that is why I had no choice but to be part of Ghana... Even you who have lost your head for not reasoning with facts as I put them, would not do that...
      So learn to distinguish between the PRIDE of Asante and The REALITY of Asante... The Reality of Asante doesn't reside in Asante alone but by the TRUTH. Ask yourself these questions? is it true that Asante was conquered in 1874? what was the outcome, was asantehene or Asante an empire again afterwards? is it true that Asante wanted a comeback in the Yaa Asantewaa war? is it true that once again Asante was completely decimated in 1902 where British troops (hausas from naija and wollofos from other countries like Gambia etc) occupied and still occupies kumasi? did Asante become a British crown colony making it a region of gold coast?
      Of course santehene can boisterously speak like the way he did (which is the pride of Asante) but that doesn't mean santehene (apart from what we traditionally believe ) is the representation of TRUTH. Even if we can support the course of asanteman, doesn't mean we should trample upon the truth that is glaringly recorded in history.
      Don't write the way you did again, you have ridiculed your intellect.

    • @amoahfrank5162
      @amoahfrank5162 Před 3 měsíci

      My brother what does this got to do with jealousy? how can I jealous myself or asanteman for writing facts. It is always good to distinguish the difference between Asante Pride against the Reality of Asante vis a vis recorded history (of course not Manhyia version). Yes, it is painful to have once been not only a powerful kingdom but an empire then loss that power in a breath of a foreign power but that notwithstanding, should not mean someone can not speak to facts and figures.
      Certainly, we won't expect the occupant of sikadwa to say that he was conquered and became subservient to another nation. I think that is the pain asante or santehene has harboured for years, and I understand that pain. Nonetheless, the truth is that asante fell in 1874 then finally by early 20th century (1902 to be specific), asante was decimated and became a British Crown Colony, as part of the Gold Coast (Asante became an official region or province of the gold coast). Asante after 1874 and strongly after 1902 was not a state of her own as we claim (it was a colony meaning colonized). Asanteman for the sake of pride has the right to boisterously assume that asante never fell (which is good) but the facts and truth is that asante was not alone or on her own after 1874 (the empire was no more at that time - it dwindled just as Anokye prophesied).
      So my brother we can pride ourselves as you claim that asante was an Autonomy from the dates you specified but that is just an asante pride, the truth is otherwise. You wouldn't expect a fante chief to come and say he was defeated, how much more Opimsuo to say that. So aside the pride, know the truth also. The country is not performing well because of the exhortation of asante pride over the truth of Ghana's history. Everybody knows that asante was not an autonomy till 54, that statement is just an asante pride.
      My brother embrace yourself with the truth no matter how painful it is. Truth is healing, pride brings destruction. No wonder Ghana is in this state.

      @@amoahfelix6648 It is pride. “Efiri tete”…Asante pride themselves of their undiluted culture and preserved traditions. Other tribes call them “villagers” why? Because the white man influence isn’t there much tho they’re schooling, unlike other group of people in Ghana who does anything western culture. If you go to some parts of Ghana to experience culture or learn you will find out they’re lost if it; Radio and television broadcaster Afia Pokua(Vim lady)confirmed this. They’re are some people who wish the name Asante isn’t there. Have you forgotten the reinvent Dormaahene championing for Bono- Akyempen council. He wasn’t championing to promote culture nor to seek development but rather to bring Asante down. The hate has been from the old and still exist today. From politics to chieftaincy and group of people. We all know government is entitled to develop our areas since we vote, go to social media and confirm. Anytime they post a picture like the Ga Manste people comment under it; King of the most developed city in Ghana, meanwhile the King didn’t develop it with his money rather the tax of the Ghanaian people has done better quite Accra. But the moment is about Asantehene; they go like “ develop Kumasi” “Kumasi is a village”.
      No where in this country receives others like we do and yet, Anloga in Kumasi. Asante gave them a land. Fante new town, gave them a land. Agric Nzema, have them a land. Dagomba line-Gave them a land. Asawaase- gave them a land our Muslims. Aboabo, Moshie Zongo(Niger people are there) Alaba(Mali and people from the north are there). The Amankwatiahene story is not true. His soldiers liked him. He showed great skills and great tactics in the battle. How he commanded his troops earned him praise from the British

    On the Spirit level, from where all physical elements emanate, the battle was lost and Kumasi burnt when we took the Basel missionaries into captivity. These warriors of God YHWH YSWA MSYICH who developed our Akan bible and entered the depth of Africa with the Word of God ( The Gospel of YiSWuA Hā MeSYiCH) where maltreatment even to the chagrin of the then Asantehemaa. I'm of the view that they even took the golden stool away and since Asantes have two of the golden stools, they might have used some to replace the original one.

    The white man should keep the gold artifacts. As corrupt as we are, we will not take good care of it if given to us.

      You obviously don’t know anything about the history. It’s a private property 😂 not Nana Addo’s . This is why they invite Asantehene and not Nana Addo when they are doing anything British Monarchy.

      @@mkash1180 Look I went to Kumasi Cultural Center and the way they are preserving our artifacts is not appealing at all. These being pure gold can be well stolen by our caretakers here. See how the white man has been able to preserve it for over 200yrs. Leaving it in our care now don't look too good for me. It shd stay in the white man's museum.

      @@nasaki1 What kind of reasoning is that? The fact that you don’t dress your wife as done by another doesn’t mean give your wife away. Once the artefacts are not sold, they are safe.

      @nasaki1 Před 3 měsíci

      @@mkash1180But in reality they are actually not our properties anymore. Those are spoils of war. So they belong to the white man. He can choose to give it back or not.
