    No matter how embarrassing some aspects of Ghana history is we should always remember that no country has perfect history. Today i heard it was around WW1 that European discovered that watching your hands kills germs but before then Muslims have been cleaning themselves for many centuries. Folk and knives for eating was a results of Europeans protecting their foods from snatchers because food was difficult to comeby as the weather made it impossible in some areas to grow food. Such touch harsh environment develop they psyche to fight and take from others. At that time we from Africa could grow our foods with ease, had lots of medicines that Europeans even call our doctors to bring herbs to treat their many plagues. History is complicated and thats my point, all we can do is learn from it, take what inspires and make conscious effort not to repeat the ones that disgust us. Peace to all Ghanaians and the entire African continent.

    This lawyer is short changing Ghanaian history particularly, the history of Asante. Denkyira is the premier Akan Group in Ghana. The Oyoko clan came from Banda to settle in Denkyira with strict supervision of Denkyirahene during the reign of Nana Boa Amponsem. Denkyira existed 200 years before Asante was created. There is a saying that “ KOTOKO SUM AMPONSEM” and it still holds. Asantemam is an uncompleted remake of Denkyira by Anokye. The AGONA clan, the largest in Asante and in Ghana are Denkyira. Denkyira is organic and need not praise herself in the annals of Akan history. “Denkyira wo be ka”.

    I disagree with the Zongo settlements. The Zongos were created by Asantehene for the Northerners who helped Asantes fought wars. Also, due to the fact that the Northerners were fearsome, they lead the war (front runners). The Northerners were held in high esteem and for that they must be close to the Ahenefia (palace). That is the reason why there is Zongo in every major Asante town and usually it is close to the palaces. Therefore, for the Historian Anokye to say the Zongo settlements were created by the British to keep Asante in check is totally FALSE.
    However, he gave very insightful information that I have learnt a lot.

    • @eyramtettevi1802
      @eyramtettevi1802 Před 6 měsíci

      U can disagree but, fact is Hausas never migrated to the gold coast, present day Ghana like the Dagombas, Kusasi or frafra did. We learnt of Ndewura Djakpa, Torhazia, Naa Gbeewa. They were not Hausa men. So he is right. The Dagombas are part of Ashanti.

    • @fred22584
      @fred22584 Před 6 měsíci

      @@eyramtettevi1802 The Dagombas are Ashantis great alliance. That is why Ashantis gave them settlements which turn out to be become Zongo. The Dagombas are Muslim so they harbor or receive their kind in their settlements that is why they welcome Hausa people into their settlements now called Zongo.
