One of my teachers at A&P school emphasized this philosophy in a somewhat different way. He humorously called it “being a butcher”.
The first example was of a damaged hydraulic line he was able to re-flare using a center punch ground to 37 degrees.
His point was “I got him home”. The owner was very relieved. Thanks for the great lesson, Tommy. I never forgot.
