  • Welcome to Stars of Diamond!
Tonight I thought I would share a few of my favorite cards from one of my favorite sets. The cards feature the greatest baseball player of all time BABE RUTH!
The cards were made during the 1921 and 1922 seasons by the American Caramel Company and inserted with their candy products. I go over in detail how to tell the difference between the two sets and when the images on the cards date to.
Let me know in the comments below what you think and which Ruth card is your favorite.

I would love to upgrade my Ruth with bird. If it ever is available I’d be interested in buying or trading. Great cards thanks for sharing.

As always great information. You mentioned the blanked back card is a W card. Are the different backs produced for the different bread, candy and other companies all E121 or does each company get a different designation? Do you have
1934-36 Diamond Stars cards to show? I always loved that set. I know the high numbers are tough. Thanks.

Technically E121 only applied to those cards produced by The American Caramel Co. Therefore in theory each different company would get its own entry into the ACC, but since the ACC has not really been added to in many years that will likely not happen. If the card was made by a bread company it would be a D-card either with a number or simply listed as D-Uncataloged if they never had one added to the ACC, a card made by a different candy maker would have an E-# or simply E-Uncat., etc.

Rhett, I have watched a couple of your videos on the 1921/1922 Caramel cards. Very interesting and your attention to detail is incredible. I found a Babe Ruth 1921 Caramel locally, and I am concerned with its authenticity. Would you consider looking at pictures that I have of it before I make my purchase? Or possibly give me some pointers... Respectfully, John
