- This utterly mad contraption is the new Supervan. The fourth time in the last 50 years that Ford has gone a bit giddy and decided to fit a Transit with a comically potent powertrain. It produces approximately 2,000bhp and 1,328lb ft of torque and, you guessed it, it’s fully electric. Official name: Ford Pro Electric Supervan… we’ll stick with Supervan 4. Unless I missed it, I didn't hear any mention of the team that actually built the car. Stard company out of Austria is the builder who made the car for/with Ford. They are the geniuses behind the electric built. Not their first project for Ford either.
You definitely missed it, but they barely mentioned it so I'm not surprised. It was shortly after 11:30 right before the passenger ride.

Really cool van, and makes me happy about it being electric, but... I'm still in love with 1994's Renault Space with V10 F1 engine.
Yessir! When first seen the Renault in action on old race footage I did fall in aww😍 the sound from that v10 was just music. Kinda reminded me of the Mazda 787b's 4 rotor, both engines love breathing and screaming 😱

This isn’t a van with 2 seats, just a vehicle in van’s shape. Just another super car with different bodywork. We gotta appreciate the Engineering work to keep this thing intact without body roll 🚀
What a beast, 1328lb ft of INSTANT torque must feel INSANE.
Sadly it looked like they barely went over 40mph, hopefully a proper speed test soon.

12:40 it's noisy but I wish some sporty electric cars kept this sound. The engine is the personality of the car after all
Pretty sure it's the straight-cut gears in the gearbox making that sound, not the motor.

I can see why in consumer-made vehicles this is dampened to the point of silence. This on the way to work....ugh.
That said, with racing and the like, this is a sound that is growing on me.
@@DuvJones They even have to redesign tyres for EV for this purpose (deleting as much sound as possible).
Yeah, the humming-jet-engine-like sound from an EV is somehow a good alternative (not substitute) to traditional ICE sound.
I love how it even sounds like a cargo van when you close the door.
Manfred Mann looks more composed driving this on a track than I look driving my Transit through a roundabout.

I like Ford's spirit, and you gotta respect Bill Ford & CEO Jim Farley's commitment to going all-in on Electric, and making it fun. Nobody is calling Ford's EVs boring or 'golf carts'.
