Oh yes I remember this I was watching the show at the time it's still messes my mind up And I wonder why she never covered this song on one of her albums after this performance
I really like her and own a lot of her stuff. However, her hand gestures are over the top in this performance . You can definitely tell who her influences are. She has never been as good live on TV as she is on CD , that I've ever seen. Not sure why, if it is nerves or can't overcome her inadequacies, or what, but I like her.
I don't think so. Cher has a deeper, darker voice (she would kill this song, though). Toni is more like Anita Baker and Sarah Vaughan... a lighter/brighter voice with a good low range (but still weak and airy when compared to someone like Cher or Nina Simone).
@@lucasribeiro7534 Anita Baker is who she reminds you of, but to me, she has always reminded me of Cher. It's the timbre of their voices and their vibrato. I especially feel this way with her crossover hits.
She’s a great singer, but maybe I was expecting too much. Only Stevie can do this song. I love her, but not this performance. I just don’t think that she did any justice to the song.
Toni Braxton entire voice is dark, rich, and simply beautiful!! Her lows are amazing!!!
I saw it when it aired. It was one of the best performances I had ever seen. I waited years to see it again. Amazing
I love when she BELTS
Talk about a unique voice. "Nobody sings like her" is right! Toni is a QUEEN!!
Her highs really shines here.
She is an Anita baker mixed with Whitney Houston people compare her to them
OMG right!
Absolutely! Her singing resembles Anita's more closely, but her stage persona and her mannerisms are so similar to Whitney's!
With some Phyllis Hyman sprinkled in there too.
💯💯💯💯💯
AMAZING, PERFECTION... NO EFFECTS, STRAIGHT VOICE AND MIC
She make me think that ; I'm in heaven 😊
I really love what she did with this song, she embraced the fullness of her lower register, and kept suspense for the chest voice notes.
Could you please react to Toni Braxton singing Love Me Tender live? Please please please
Whew! that was gorgeous. I realized I wasn't breathing the entire time. Took my breath from the first note. Just incredible!
I am Toni's biggest fan. I been listening since I was 9.
Toni Braxton Living Legend ❤️
MORE TONI !!!! ♥️
She ate that up!!!!!🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for sharing . Toni is the greatest .
You almost love her singing more than me .
Stay sharp Toni . ❤️
Queen 👑
I have been looking for this for yrs!

Love this woman ❤
Her voice reminds me of Cher.
Yes!!!
I always said that TONI BRAXTON is the Black Cher 💯😁🔥👌🏾

@@nicim3730 I've just remembered that Cher actually sang this song (and she killed it, as I said she would). Check it out!
@@lucasribeiro7534 ok I will
Could you react to Donny Hathaway's rendition of Yesterday? Plz and thank you.
I know you like Streisand’s vocals and she blows the roof off this song as you might expect..
Love me some toni but did not like this performance

Agree. She's a little "pitchy" and too much elaboration. Only Stevie can sing this song - plainly and with feeling and passion.
Too many runs. She lost some of her original style and feeling. However, it's still quite dynamic, but I like her old style better.
