    I have a big collection of tools at my house, but my grandparents kept needing me to come over and fix their stuff. I got tired of having to grab a bunch of tools out of my tool box to take with me, just to realize I forgot one thing I needed. I bought this set as my "to go box" so I had most of the tools I needed, I can grab it and maybe a hammer and a drill and get going. So much more convenient. The tools are pretty decent too.

    When you consider the price per part is like 52 cents (currently selling for $119), this is just an incredible value. Maybe if you're a mechanic who uses these tools every day to making a living, maybe you'd want something better, but if you're a weekend warrior, like me, who just wants to have a good selection of tools on hand for the dozen times a year that I need them, this is an amazing value.. Or like you said, if you want to a set for the rv or boat, or in the trunk of the car or under the back seat of the truck, you really can't beat this.

    The main reason I didnt get the 301 set was because like you mentioned, it is much bigger and a bit heavier. I just wanted a set to keep in my car just incase. I ended up getting the 225 pc set shown in this review. I really like it. I've read some reviews complaining about breaking the ratchets, but ratchets aren't meant for very stuck bolts which can break under constant use but even if they are cheap in this kit, you can just buy some stronger ones of same size and throw them in. I got this for basic maintenance on my car with more tools than I need but extra variety of tools is still nice to have.
    Thanks for your review.

    Great Review, thanks muc. Was just looking at this on HF site and couldn't really tel the size of the wrenchs & ddin't know Ratchets were 72 teeth, very nice.1 I have HF tools and what some may say are higher end tools but I really have never seen any difference in sockets be they Pittsburg, Quinn, Icon, Tekton, Neiko, Craftsman and they way over priced and over talked SnapOn, yes Snap On may be a bit thicker than Pittsburg but I really havent seen any socket fit better than another, If you work on cars, other than some bolts internal to the engine, any bolt or nut on a car is not made to anywhere near to perfect dimension and has already been beat to hell...er...heck, rusted, dented, chip, bashed or gashed. So why do you need a so called perfect dimension socket when its going on a beat to heck bolt or nut..makes no sense.
    I've got lots of different ratchets, some Pitssburg, some Craftsmand (old, old) and I got the Gear Wrench 120 xp ratchet set, still 1/3 or 1/4 the cost of CrapOn and way better. I needed a 120 fine tooth as I had suck tight places in the engine bay and I can turn these so fine like I could not with any other and they are long as well as flex heads, but my go to stuff used most is HF ratchets, I just prefer the non padded ones so I can get a pipe on them. My son uses my tools and he is moving out so I need to get him a nice set and this is really nice and in an easy to store and keep case. Gonna see you review on the next sice up what ever that kit was, then get one. Thanks, Brother.

    I'll just say the reason you don't buy that sockets set is because it skips sizes, you only get 5- 1/2 drive deep sockets. And 14 - 3/8 sockets. And they are mixed SAE and MM that leaves you very limited in what you can use them for. And for the price Harbor freight charges for that kind of set is a waste of money. For the same price you can get a complete set of 6 point sockets and better quality also. 👌🤷‍♂ Husky sells 200 sockets, complete sets for 1/4 inch drive, 3/8 drive and 1/2 Inch drive then all you pay extra for is ratchets and you'll have a way better set of tools and sockets than anything they sell at Harbor freight stores.

      I have a Husky ~250 ish piece set that's about like this but no skipped sizes, more sockets in each drive size, and more wrenches. Paid ~90 last black Friday

    • @GarenP
      @GarenP Před 2 lety

      Look at the quality of the Husky sockets - they have varying finish, looks and a mismatched appearance as if they came from different factories. I had to return a set because some of them weren't chromed properly inside, all made in China. All the sockets in the Pittsburg sets are made in Taiwan and impeccable in quality by comparison, totally blows Husky out of the water.

      Well with Throwing in "Common Sense" you don't buy a cheaper kit to rely on when you are building engines or cars all day, everyday. Unless you Spend $1200-$1500 for the strongest of stuff to complete a set you aren't going to have unbreakable tools. Its irrelevant to say pittburgs brand sucks when it's pretty much the same with many other brands around the same price. The super strong shit Ain't Cheap! These kits are great if you need something in a pinch!
