- This is the 18 minute film that has been shown at the France Pavilion at Epcot since opening day in 1982. It is shown every half hour until park closing in the Palais du Cinema. The movie is projected onto five adjacent screens, giving 200° coverage.
In my opinion, even after 36 years 'Impressions De France' is still one of the highlights at Epcot as it is a perfect marriage of images and music.
Although certain aspects are dated this does not matter. Does one dismiss a work of art simply because it does not reflect current styles or fashions? No, of course not.
This is a classic film which I hope will play at the French Pavilion forever, it is a wonderful snapshot of what France once was and I doubt whether it could or would be made today. For me it is now the only thing at Epcot that is guaranteed to bring joy to my heart and I know that many others have a love for it that is unmatched by anything else at Walt Disney World's second park.
I tried to keep the camera as steady as I could without using a tripod, the video is shot in 4k at 24fps to match the film. I was sat in the back row of the cinema during the last showing, whilst it was fairly empty unfortunately a couple of heads do intrude into the frame somewhat. I hope that this does not interfere too much with the enjoyment of the film.
I do not pan the camera at all but keep it locked onto the middle screen with part of each of the screens either side. With this wide angle view I manage to capture just under half of what a person in the Palais du Cinema can see.

Enjoy!
I’ve been to DisneyWorld so many times and every time me and my family go to EPCOT, we always want to see “Impressions de France” because it’s one of our absolute favorite attractions there.
A timeless attraction. Such a valuable asset to Epcot.
I lost my dad last year. He used to love watching this when we went to EPCOT. It was his favorite attraction. Thank you for posting it.
Man of great taste!
Superb! Just as good as it was 35+ years ago.
Terrific. Best version I've seen outside the actual theater. I agree that this is the highlight of Epcot. I first saw it in 1983 as a kid and was immediately captivated by the music and scenery. I've since visited many of those places shown in the film. It looks like they have finally updated the projection system to digital and done a nice job of color matching the reels. Looks better than ever! Thanks.
Steve PHL so devastated it’s going to be replaced by a goddamn ratatouille ride. This was one of my favorite things in Epcot, along with the now replaced Norway ride as well. End of an era.
@@Lemurian.Quartz Impressions de France is sticking around for now! The Ratatouille ride is in a separate building.
HoustonProductions1 oh thank goodness! I mean the Ratatouille ride looks awesome, but they need to preserve some of original Epcot with all these changes. Def excited to see a lot of the new upcoming stuff though.
@@houston-coley this just reinforces the fact that I need to get my kids down to Disney soon. So much that I grew up with as a kid is gone.
I'm hoping Disney keeps this movie playing along with the Beauty and the Beast singalong. I would cry if this disappeared.
From what I've read, they will keep it alongside the singalong :)
I think I died and went to Heaven....One of my favourite spots on earth....The France Pavilion at Glorious Epcot. Thank you for this TREAT ..
Best Movie at EPCOT.
Always a highlight of Epcot for me! I've been to Paris once (2007) and I'm proud of my French ancestry. Cannot wait to go back- to both WDW and France!
The best recording of this wonderful film. Thank you for sharing it!
Thankyou for doing in 4K… so much clearer!
Thank you so much for the video at 24fps. This is fantastic. The music is amazing. It takes me back to the old EPCOT Center.
Thanks for sharing! I love it!
Excellent!!! Great capture and quality! Very underrated attraction. It may be old, but the beauty of it (audio and visual) is timeless!
Beautiful. Thank you. I saw it first on opening day October 1, 1982. I never tire of experiencing Impressions de France!
8:54 is the beginning of my favorite part. Claire de Lune is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written!
Seeing all those mountaineers on the peaks so close to the camera, it always gives me a thrill, even after so many years! What a wonderful film.
Beautiful attraction! This is the kind of stuff that makes Epcot my favorite! Too bad all these beautiful sights, that represent a whole nation, belonged to royal families or the very wealthy few.
Ma belle France☺️❤️🇫🇷
Very nice! Thumbs up from Dublin (Ireland) ! :)
My favorite part is at 6:52, those cyclists show such joie de vivre!
The best video of them all. You did a fantastic job. Too bad there are heads on the bottom left and right of the screen. I was able to get the sound from another CZcams video that seems to have been taken right out of the console and insert it on your video. Now I have a near perfect presentation. Congratulations.
I hope that people know that this is not the current France, it's an old movie.
I hope so too, it reminds me of France when I first visited in 1980. Of course it has changed and this captures this fantastic country at its best, maybe it isn't the same but it it is still incredible.
Not the same at paris but the rest of the country is always the same
That’s what makes it even better man. Instant classic.
The album version of the music without narration or foley can be heard here: czcams.com/video/z_C0eICHahk/video.html

Can someone please tell me what the name of the music is at 14:00 i can’t find it anywhere
It doesn't have a name as far as I know, it was music specially composed by Buddy Baker for Impressions De France (he arranged all the music for IDF). On the track list it is simply called 'original music by Buddy Baker'. It is lovely though (as is all of it!). This is scene 36, for the complete track list go to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impressions_de_France .
hay guys, can someone pls tell me the name of the music that starts at 1:36??
It is the sublime The Carnival of the Animals - VII. Aquarium by Saint-Saëns. czcams.com/video/XCBDlC0N8Rc/video.html
Can someone please tell me
the name of the music at 10:08? Thanks!
Erik Satie - Gymnopédie No.1
@@alexdelteil434 is this a different version than the original? If so, where can I find this version?
