Thank you for this, made me decide on 70mai vs ddpai. Great review
Ordered it for my wife. Can't wait to try it out
Thanks LifeHackster for another great review! I do not currently have a dashcam. I am retired and only drive 1,000ish miles per year. And I avoid driving at rush hour 'like the plague'.
The features that would sell me on a dashcam, *when parked*:
1)continuous monitoring, but save a recording only when another vehicle or person approaches, with the recording including user-defined periods before and after the trigger. I believe this could be achieved by modifying 'ADAS' logic.
2)same as #1, except triggered by an accelerometer (collision or break-in detection)
3)getting #1 and #2 features without a subscription would definitely be a big plus
I have had a Toyota Tacoma damaged twice while parked during the last 5 years- once both sides were keyed full-length and the other time someone extensively damaged the rear driver's side quarter panel and left the scene. A dashcam with the above features would have been extremely useful.
Thanks for watching! As to parking mode, most if not all dash cams have this features, you just need to hardwire it and will need their hardwire kit. The hardwire kit will power the dash cam continuously until your car's battery drops a certain level and then it will turn off the dash cam to prevent further discharge of your car's battery. Now with this setup, their parking mode can have time lapse until when someone bumps or triggers the G sensor then it will record the event... and it will depend on the dash cam if it will have a buffer meaning if it will record the few seconds before the trigger. Some, like this dashcam will detect people moving in the field of view of the camera when it is parked.
The only thing about this parking mode in most of these dashcams is that it will not notify you in real time. There are some and I guess this one has the 4G option which will give you real time notifications but it basically uses cellular data connection to connect to the internet (the only way at this time anyways to get notifications on your phone) and this will always have a subscription.
Anyways, in your situation where your car was vandalized, the cheaper solution... well if you are parked at your house, is to have home security cameras aimed at your car. I have one of our cars parked in the street in front of my house and I use the Wyze OG telephoto, recording continuously and aimed at the car.
Great, had it 2 months, perfect quality
I personally think car insurance companies should offer a discount for using a dash cam.
I have the Rexing v1
That's true. Thanks for watching!
This one for driving and parking mode or Vantrue E3, N4 pro? Need it for parking at night to see in dark car plates. Any advice?
Looks pretty good L.H. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
how does this compare with Nextbase 622 4K camera?
I’m impressed. Better than the Rove that I have now.
I don't use one yet. haven't decided which to get, when something better keeps coming out every month or so.
Like the dash cam reviews mixed in. LifeHackster, the Cooau D50 would be worth you checking out. I have that model in 5 of my vehicles. 3 channel with WiFi etc. Front cam, interior cam and rear camera. Nice features with a good price point as well. I have the Cooau M53 mini dash cam my 6th vehicle. They've been solid for me. (And I have zero affiliation to them)
I haven't heard of them but I'll check it out. Thanks for watching!
Looks really bad compared to this 70mai.
How are you able to freeze frame and zoom/cut at plates? What software on playback? Outstanding channel.
Just photoshop. Thanks for watching!
Great review on the 70mai A810 4K Starvis 2 Dash Cam. I really surprised on the features, quality of the video, and license plate captures for this price range. I would consider it for my vehicle.
My wife and I have been using dash cams in our vehicles for the past 15 years. I currently use the VIOFO A129 Dual Camera with Wi-Fi in my vehicle. My wife uses the VIOFO T130 3 Channel Dash Cam with Wi-Fi in her vehicle. I had a tractor trailer cut me off and tore the bumper off the front of my vehicle. The truck driver tried to blame me for the accident. I submitted the video and snapshots to his insurance company and they wrote me a check immediately. The insurance company said it was the easiest claim to settle and wished more people would use dash cams in the vehicles. Dash Cams are worth every penny and saved me over 2K in damages done to my vehicle.
Why not upgrade to a VIOFO A229 PRO?
Yes, that is the main reason why everyone needs to have a dash cam. Thanks for watching!
Waiting in the Aosu solar 3k vs the Eufy S340 camera video. However, I feel like there is really no competition to Eufy’s camera as of right now.
Can you do an updated 2024 comparison review for all the 4k Dash cams with24hr secured parking mode
Can you review the 70mai Omni?
The front facing night seems better than the other stravis 2 night camera footage that I recall. Having a battery is no-go. I'm not having a lithium battery sitting in 150+ degree Texas sun. Side note - You are part of the headlight problem! lol Not sure which brand you went with but the Sylvania states on the package, only for offroad and fog light usage. I just drive around with my halogen bights on now, because all these LED headlights are ridiculous.
LOL on the headlight problem. I realized that if you can't beat them... just join them ;). The final straw that got me to replace the headlights with LEDs is when even with my headlights ON, I can see my car's shadow in the front because of the brighter lights of the car behind me. I got ones from Amazon and they are aimed right. No one has flashed me yet but the clarity at night is definitely better..... Come...come to the Bright Side... :)
Gret review! hope to see more dashcam content on your channel
Thanks for watching!
Tenda CT6 outdoor camera review please?
I personally have dash cams in all my vehicles but I definitely don't like the idea of car manufacturers doing this from the factory as you mention. Too many issues could arise from that!
True but like in a Tesla, manufacturers can integrate it better and have a full car car cam not just a dashcam. If your car has Lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control, it already has a camera and sensors facing in the front.
Like... what?
this is the best IMX678 dashcam in the price range. Reason why lower resolution is not available is because IMX678 only has native 4k resolution, lower resolution will be downscaled with inferior quality using more cpu cycles. If you want lower resolution, better go with the native 2k IMX675 A119 Mini 2 from Viofo. Cam is fixed at 25 fps in 2 channel mode, 30 fps in single channel. A810 image quality rivals GoPro as a dashcam for timelapsed video. If that's what you plan to use, a circular polarizer is highly recommended.
Ddpai z50 or 70mai a810?
do these static films work in extreme weather like 90+ in Summer, -20+ in Winter?
I can relate to summer.. Yes..no issues.
You might need to change the format of the memory card. Some are FAT32 only.
can you leave this plugged in 24/7? or do you have to constantly un plug it when you get out so it doesn't drain your battery???
Yes as to keeping it plugged in and most charger ports on cars will turn OFF when the car is off. If you want to use the parking mode feature, then you need to hardwire it using the hardwire kit to your car. It will monitor your car's battery and will turn OFF the dash cam if the battery dips a certain level.
Just wondering what seems wrong, got my 70mai a810-2 (hardwire) and my battery is draining since then. 😢 i didnt have issues with my car battery before installing the dash cam
@@itsveah2506by a spare battery for parking mode
@@kblcana1532 that doesnt sound convenient 😂
Is the app free to use?
I don't have a dash cam because I haven't found one that I like yet!
Any Starvis 2 sensor dash cams are pretty good.
I got a rove R3 car dash cam I am good with mines
Mine*
It is probably best under
200 eur. For the best one at night especially, buy Nexus 4 Pro (N4 Pro)
I dont use a dash cam but I came out of work one night and noticed a person looking in my car window with hands on window looking in.. The person notice me coming towards my car and walked away real fast.. when this happened to me i wanted a parking mode dash cam... also your link for this doesnt work.. do a review on the reolink argus track
I live in the Netherlands and at the mall some one crashed into my car so when i returned the bumper got damaged thats a lesson to buy this
Still that DashCam will be of no use unless you HardWire it
I still have a Nexar beam lol
Rear camera seems like a real let down especially at night
I wish it was at least a 2K camera.
Not cool man they got 60 frames per second. We need to get that in our smart home cameras, but at 4K.
No Supercapacitor? Nope, i’m out!
Indeed. Been there, never again.
What do you recommend then?
@@neeka2967 well, a camera with a capacitor.
😐…..obviously. Any specific brand that makes them with a super capacitor. Ones that you have had a good user experience with.
@@neeka2967 - Hello, i can recommend several different models that may range in features and price but are generally considered the best on the market. These are all equipped with the latest technology (STARVIS 2, & 4K,) and includes Super capacitors!
These are NOT listed in the order of preference but…
VIOFO A229 PRO, VIOFO A139 PRO
THINKWARE U3000
VANTRUE Nexus 4 PRO
I guarantee that the moment ALL car manufacturers are forced to place dashcams in vehicles, insurance companies and law enforcement will lobby for the rights to wirelessly tap into them under the guise of “Public Safety” and access vehicles via a backdoor communications chipset that will be placed in all OEM branded dashcams.
Imagine driving through a town and getting pulled over at a stop sign:
Officer: hey buddy do you know how fast you’ve been driving?
Driver: No
Officer: Well, i do! Your GPS says that you have been violating local speed ordinances for the last 30 miles!
true
No dash cam here namely because I don't drive due to vision problems. I've suggested it to my mom especially after a minor fender bender and a few close calls due to idiots but she doesn't want one. As for them being built in by the manufacturer no, NO, and *HELL NO!* That'll be abused in every way you can think of any many that you haven't.
Fair enough..but I like the ones that Teslas have..it is whole camera cam not just a dash cam.
No dash cam here.
💐🌹👍👏🌹💐
I don't
"Promo SM" 😴
Nope
Rear cam is sh** and it just records at 8000kbps which is very low and front camera is does.. This is real rip-off dashcam.. Better buy 2 cam's individually
yes I am using same one. It's cheaper if you buy it from china.
No dash cam here.
