@@Xavier-xg9yt it really sucks too because the white dress she's wearing originally had a very long train but instead of accuracy she went for safety (ie: not wanting to trip during choreography herself or any of the other girls) and it's frustrating but I also get why the judges judged her the way they did.

@@laraghamian8477 they shouldnt have had the princess diana part, ginger should not have gotten the russian character when that is literally katya's M.O. they could have come up with a different character for ginger to play. the look really hadnothing to do with it except for like 2 of them because most of the characters were from a time before cameras, so we dont know how they would have really looked because paintings were highly stylized to favor the beauty standards of the time. at the end of the day Katya was set up to fail.

I don't even like Phi Phi that much, but it was pretty crappy how they gave (almost) everyone else a scene to act out and just told her "For your big lip sync solo, you'll just scream your name a few times and play a guitar." And then told her that she "didn't steal the show" and "blended into the background"

Ironically, I feel like they suit each other's parts better. Diana doesn't have a lot going on in her scene so the reliance is on facial expressions (which Ginger is the best at), plus if I remember correctly from an article I read she's a pageant girl so she would be able to exude the energy better. Catherines scene is raunchy/filthy, and that's the kind of thing Katya can lean into really well (since a lot of her work outside of the show is in the dark sex jokes vein) and the Russian accent would be the cherry on top. She could also incorporate some fun gymnastics things. I feel like that's what would have happened if they were allowed to pick their parts and weren't just assigned them.
Can we talk about how Roxxxy was really really good in this… She nailed the steps and her face really matched the comedy of the lyrics…

Justin/Alyssa is THE most quotable QUEEN, she is fiercely talented, stunning, owns every stage like no other, she's an entrepreneur, a mentor, her students ADORE her immensely, she now has a gorgeous make-up collab pallet with ABH, has the longest lines @ Drag Con etc. etc. Katya said it herself on AS2 after she got eliminated "She is literally the most memorable creature to ever walk through those doors". To me she is literally the QUEEN of all these "queens" and in the words of Bianca Del Rio "I just love her to pieces". ❤

I mean, as a Brit... Princess Diana’s dress was iconic BUT it was huge 😂😭 it was puffy, heavy and the train was SO LONG. How could Katya *possibly* have danced in a replica of it? 🙄🤷🏼♀️ I do think the dress she wore was a bit too simple and the fabric was way too shiny and thin, but I knew who she was right away before her part came up 🙄🤷🏼♀️ I don’t think it’s the worst likeness. She had a really bad set of choreography. It was just preening and the body rolls on the long note 🙄 they could have given her way better choreo. She could have lifted the dress up to the thigh to show some leg and been more sexy, or had a reveal to the “revenge dress” underneath 😂🤷🏼♀️ 90% of the problems with Katya’s part were choreography and that’s not her fault

Ginger was so underrated here, I love her.
Watching this back a couple years later, and this really was one of the best Rusicals, and the BEST cast of All Stars. Pretty much every performance was full of personality and was executed well. No one forgot the choreography or words and were really feeling it. We just don’t get it like this anymore on Rupaul’s overproduced rigged race.

The choreography didn’t even let her move from her spot on stage! Like, what did they want her to do? They gave her a little square to work in and an unfunny verse along with a diva whose most iconic look is a wedding dress known for its train which she couldn’t wear since it would inhibit her movement during her choreography in the other girls parts. She was screwed from the start

I’m not here to say one did better than the other, but this cast has so much chemistry and as a whole this performance is spectacular.
Every one says that Katya was set up to fail, but like in my opinion she did great! I get it why she was kinda set up, but I thought she did great!
Katya did her best with the role but the writing seemed to make her character feel meager compared to the other over-the-top ladies. It's a shame. We could use more Princess Diana.
