I've searched for this specifically because this is the piece that Brahms plays on the only existing recording of himself playing - it's an old phonograph from 1889, hardly recognisable but you can actually hear Brahms play this exact piece. And also, alone with his 2 hands.

I have literally grown up with this most invaluable treasure of this recorded concert from 1998 in Tokyo here onCZcams. I can not express how truly thankful I am that we have CZcams or technology in general just because of this concert of when he did the Chopin Préludes(my most personally revered work of Chopin), the Liszt in the second half, and then a wad of thee most utterly astonishing encores following of Brahms and Liszt.....what a gargantuan achievement. This very concert itself, despite the not so great audio quality, the young master's tone quality and blinding sheen of a brilliance still pierces through with every note he played......not to mention the character, tone colours, and thee most astonishing quality of a timbre of the choice model Kissin uses here(I have always wondered if he carried around his own piano? Is this his own piano?). It is seriously one of thee most flawless, prime level, ear pleasing set of keys I have ever heard on a recording audio or visual. The very thought I just realized last night that from his 1984 live concert of Chopin's first concerto when he was only just 13 years old, this was only....ONLY 14 years later. His development into the young astute and prudent man here when he was 27 at this concert is truly....truly terrifying, he was 27 here. I am turning 28 next month. Very piercing to me! And for many years I always would look back at this concert on CZcams for such inspiration. Lord willing, I will not give up and keep on keeping on despite all the chaos in the world at this time! Thank you....thank you whoever you are, over and over for uploading this concert how many years ago! This spectacle was and is one of the most important, meaningful, impressive, and extraordinary ever recorded. We are blessed!
    Matthew.
