  • Our ASV PT-100 was in desperate need to have the undercarriage repaired / replaced. Some of the idlers and bogies were missing the majority of the rubber on them. We made the decision to go with all aluminum bogie and idler wheels. All of the parts in this video were provided by Track Loader Parts. In this video we loosen the drive table slide it forward and remove the track.

A pipe wrench works the best for that adjusting rod

@STEVEN LEE sounds like you have a lot of experience with this style of undercarriage. Thank you for taking the time to help everyone out. Would you place the pipe wrench on the nut part or the tube part? I am asking because it would damage the hex head on the nut part or possibly crush the tube part if things were very rusty. Do you have experience with either of these circumstances? ~Mr. C.

I’m working on a cat 287b. I noticed you had disassembled the asv axles. How did you pull the seal? Do you have special tools for the seals and retainer rings? Were your axles grease filled? Thanks for video, and your help. Dennis

@denniseubank8544 I just changed the idlers and bogies. I did not change any bearings or seals. Thankfully all of them were good to go. No leaks and all of the bearings were smooth. I believe mine are oil filled but don't quote me on that. Sorry I could not help more. Thanks for watching and happy wrenching! ~Mr. C.

Really great video, i bought a 2010 terex pt100 with only 900 hours, after how many hours did you have to replace all those parts?

@tonypinon98 that's awesome! Nice machine. It had right at 1000 hrs. 1200 hrs on it now and everything looks and works great. Thanks for watching and asking. ~Mr. C.

Thanks so much for putting the video together. I love the DYI stuff. I just purchased my first track machine. It is a ASv rt60 2016. Your video has inspired me. A couple of questions. I’m wondering if you used soapy water to help get the track over the wheels? And also I was curious what the investment was for all the parts and where
you purchased them? Thanks in advance

@Mark Foster you are very welcome!Congratulations on getting an awesome machine! It is my pleasure to make these videos. I love the community on here, so many cool people. I did try soapy water but it made the tensioning tool slippery too but it did help a little. The parts for the undercarriage and some maintenance items was around $7500. I purchased everything from trackloaderparts.com. Very nice folks with excellent customer service and prompt shipping. Thanks for watching and commenting. ~Mr. C.

@STEVEN LEE excellent tip. Thanks for sharing. I wanted to show viewers how to remove them in one piece just in case there was a need to remove them in the future for a repair to another part of the undercarriage. ~Mr. C.
