I've been reading the orthodox study bible(read the whole new testament and near the end of Leviticus) and seeing Jesus in the old testament is so amazing to me. like nobody in my R.C family knew anything about this because they didn't read it(some of them even said Jesus was created). i really love your videos because i get a in-depth look into the true faith and what books i need to pick up or things i should be practicing(more prayer, etc) pls keep up the good work and may god bless you
I have an Orthodox Study Bible on my birthday and Christmas wishlist. Using an Orthodox App for commentaries but I prefer the physical Bible. I was just reading Augustine's commentary on Psalm 88 the other day, I'm really "feeling it". I am from a Protestant background and I feel like the door has been opened and I'm running on through! Or being pulled in. Protestants to me felt like the door was opened but they never really walk through. Take a Bible verse and try to read it literally almost legally or like a manual rather than the fullness of the Orthodox.
@@neilwhitaker6284 Don't get me wrong I think Martin Luther did a good thing by translating the bible into the common language at the time and I think everyone should read the bible. But ppl need to read it with commentaries and understand that tradition is how the majority of Christians practiced their faith. Which is why I love the church because not only do we encourage everyone to live similar to monastics(to our best abilities) but tools like icons are meant to help illiterate ppl understand the bible, and the liturgy being done in those peoples language instead of just latin and being read the gospel too is amazing
Superb and informative video. I’ve just completed a series in Jesus in the Old Testament on Instagram. It’s so clear that Jesus is the Angel of the Lord. Though many of my Protestant friends still maintain the Angel of the Lord is St Michael.
the angel (messenger) of the Lord is God in the old testament Genesis 22:10-12 10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. 11 *And the angel of the Lord called unto him* out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. 12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, *seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son FROM ME.* *(ABRAHAM DECIDED TO SACRIFICE HIS SON TO THE ANGEL OF THE LORD, but he stopped Abraham)* Genesis 31:11-13 11 *The angel of God said to me in the dream,* ‘Jacob.’ I answered, ‘Here I am.’ 12 And he said, ‘Look up and see that all the male goats mating with the flock are streaked, speckled or spotted, for I have seen all that Laban has been doing to you. 13 *I am the God of Bethel,* where you anointed a pillar and where you made a vow to me. Now leave this land at once and go back to your native land.’” *(THE ANGEL OF THE LORD IS GOD OF BETHEL)* Exodus 3:2-6 2 *There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush.* Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. 3 So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight-why the bush does not burn up.” 4 When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.” 5 “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” 6 *Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.”* At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. *(THE ANGEL OF THE LORD APPEARED TO MOSES WITHIN A BUSH AND HE SAID THAT HE IS GOD OF ABRAHAM)* Genesis 48:15-16 15 And he blessed Joseph and said, *"The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life long to this day,* 16 *The angel who has redeemed me from all evil,* bless the boys; and in them let my name be carried on, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth." *(HERE THE SUBJECT OF HIS PRAYER IS ONLY ONE - GOD / THE ANGEL OF THE LORD WHO REDEEMED HIM FROM ALL EVIL)* Exodus 23:20-21 20 “See, *I am sending an angel ahead of you* to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. 21 Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since *my Name is in him.* *(THE NAME OF GOD IS IN THIS ANGEL)* Genesis 16:7-13 7 *The angel of the Lord found Hagar* near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur. 8 And he said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?” “I’m running away from my mistress Sarai,” she answered. 9 Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” 10 The angel added, *“I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.”* 11 The angel of the Lord also said to her: “You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael,[a] for the Lord has heard of your misery. 12 He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward[b] all his brothers.” 13 She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: *“You are the God who sees me,”* for she said, “I have now seen[c] the One who sees me.” *(THE ANGEL OF THE LORD WILL INCREASE AND BLESS THE NATIONS, AND HAGAR CALLED HIM GOD)*
i just discovered your videos and theyre very informative and helpful. Im currently in the process of leaving catholicism and looking into Orthodoxy, Thanks for these videos they’ve really helped me
I have more recently come to the opinion that whenever an angel of the Lord appears as a human in the Old testament, that it is pre-incarnate Jesus Christ. Angels such as seraphim and cherubim are a particular species that we would think of as an angel.
if he accepted , why it says " 16 The angel of the Lord replied, “Even though you detain me, I will not eat any of your food. But if you prepare a burnt offering, offer it to the Lord.” (Manoah did not realize that it was the angel of the Lord.) "
Similar to how Jesus says to the young man who calls him good reacher "why do you call me good? Only God is good" to point out the man's lack of faith. The young man thought he was just that, so he talked with him accordingly as a human while pointing out why he was good i.e. being God.
You have done a great work as always my brother. (all this evidence showing that the Lord Jesus is God, just for a muslim come in and say: bAibeEl coRruPtteT!😅)
Papists are the first protestants who base their undoubtedly satanic man worship on one misunderatood Bible verse. Thats crazy, also Saint Peter started the church of Antioch
The book of Judges is overwelmingly trinitarian, all the time you read about the Lord, the Angel and the Spirit, and all of them is God YHWH
Please pray for me. I am in a very poor condition. Thank you!

Great and informative videos as always. I wonder how the modern Jews cope or explain away these passages.

Christ is the God of the Old and New Testament.
Amen
I wish Jews would actually see and respond to this because this is so blatant that its embarrassing for them.
Despondency and unbelief will find a way to say No. A demonic God-opposing condition cannot be cured by arguments.
Jews 🤬🤬🤬
But have you considered that God is one?

Yes one in three
Orthodox is a fancy name for protestant 💫
Papists are the first protestants who base their undoubtedly satanic man worship on one misunderatood Bible verse. Thats crazy, also Saint Peter started the church of Antioch
It's the original church. Rome broke off from the church.
Wow, you really pulled out the big guns with that one!
You Catholics are closer to protestants than the Orthodox.
