    • @jajajtec
      @jajajtec Před rokem +4

      I am actually building a protogen head, with a embedded vr-headset. It will have complete face tracking! And you can actually play vr with it (when you play vr or any other game with it, the visor can display the game, so other people can play doom on it by connecting mouse and keyboard). It can track without basestation, has a coloured passthrew mode and tracks emotions. It will take some time tho, until it is finished. Because i have to figure out how to do the software of it.
      Mayyybe i might add night and thermal vision in the future as well :p

    From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass you call a temple will wither and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved. For the Machine is Immortal
    This is the part I've been looking forward to the most!

    • @TheShabick
      @TheShabick Před rokem +8

      Not really... there is a lot of development effort into safeguarding tech in water even if it needs input and output devices. Thus why most new cell phones are fairly safe to drop in a toilet as long as they don't take physical damage(so it doesn't hurt to be cautious still). Also a lot of technology is secured now against ElectroMagnetic Pulses so that isn't even an issue.

    • @caltheuntitled8021
      @caltheuntitled8021 Před rokem

      With biotech, you can easily make a furry colony in rimworld. All you have to do is play with a transhumanist ideology that has a meme that makes them prefer a custom furry xenotype that includes the gene implanter gene (maybe even several different ones). You could either start with a colonist of that xenotype or make it a goal to capture one of them and have them spread it to your people.

    As someone who's training to be an engineer, i can see the tail being able to use some sort of very sensitive sensors without needing surgery (But probably would need some sort of physical therapy to help you be able to control it, And most likely sensors to pick up that specific of brain waves dont exist yet)

    Dont all organisms generate electricity? Youd have to be careful but couldnt you tune it to recharge off that when your sleeping?

    • @UNSCPILOT
      @UNSCPILOT Před rokem +3

      Our bodies do produce some electricity yes, however your brain (one of your most power hungry parts) only uses around 5~10 watts, it's a very low power system, so you'd need to implement something like a isolated electric eel organ to have significant power avalible especially for prothstetic limbs and such, and would put increased demand on your food intake as it would be burning a lot of calories to run some of your more power hungry augmentation.
      A fully synthetic body would likely rely on batteries or maybe hydrogen fuel cells, with perhaps large solar panel wings to supplement your range time to time

  • @FlameRat_YehLon
    @FlameRat_YehLon Před rokem

    Currently I'd say powered tail is kinda worse than non-powered ones, because it doesn't give much advantage but is much harder to make use of and has higher cost. Sure, powered tail can wag on its own, and can potentially read and react to emotions, and having sense, but wagging a non-powered tail with waist movement is just as easy, and in fact you don't need much waist movement to get the tail wagging because the tail can store some inertia to amplify the movement, and thus with some practicing it's not hard to do subtle and fast waist twisting in order to wag the tail.
    As for emotion reacting, well, with some practice it's also not hard to subconsiously react with tail. With even more practice it's also possible to sneakly control the tail using a hand, which is actually not that different from using a remote for most of the motorized tail anyway, and there are really few motorized tail that can sense brain wave nowadays. Not to mention motorized tail would have much lower power output than wagging with waist movement, so you might want to do some manual wagging anyway, especially when wearing larger tails.
    And lastly, about sensing with the tail. For motorized tail, I guess the best things can be done with current tech is to have vibrating motor to note that the tail is being touched (and no, please don't use such tech to do questionable things). This is, of course, useful for sense that the tail is colliding with stuffs, but the better way to do things is to keep in mind the pose of the tail and avoid collision proactively. Otherwise, due to the tail having its own inertia, and the fact that the tail is firmly attached to the body, it is already possible to feel the posing of the tail, and if it's stopped abruptly, you will know it and you will know that you might have some trouble. It's just that you can't sense it with your brain directly, but indirectly through the skin of where the tail is attached to.
