      I have a question, considering replacing some body parts with bio-engineered ones, say.. your skull, wouldn't the best possibility be to have a full lab-grown body in which we could connect our brains to? Naturally you'll need to figure out how to do this without killing the brains, maybe hook the brain up to the second body and set everything up before disconnecting it from the original body...

      In the end I would go a different route. Let me explain it with dogs. Since dogs evolved to have mucles to move their eyebrows I would do selective breeding until they reach an acceptable status, like in 400 years. Some dogs can become in heat within 1 year which could speed up the "evolution" process. Those are mostly small adjustments to the dog's body like bones and a stronger tongue. Until then I assume that brain transplantation will become save or brains could even become hot swapable.

    Why is that a challenge? Because scales are easily biologically possible, easy to clean, require very little upkeep, and provide protection.
    Fur looks good and feels nice. The downsides are mud, bugs, and other dirty fur, what it takes to clean it, what it takes to dry it, it doesnt provide a lot of protection, and it will DEFINITELY cause overheating problems.

    As much as I liked the Symbiote method for roleplay in my high school days, realistically it'd be incredibly impractical due to the aforementioned storage space issues alone, not to mention the biochemical maintenance costs, the power cost of a hemoodialysis machine running 24/7, maintaining it's support hardware and keeping remote track of it's health so it doesn't die while you're out, and other related difficulties (good luck getting biosupport plasm or your own blood out of your carpeted closet in the case of an accident or mechanical failure). Truthfully, this'd only be feasible for someone with hired help and sizable wealth. Even then, that's just assuming it's 100% living symbiote. Mechanical parts and cybernetics, much like a car, would require additional maintenance over time no matter what, even with it sitting in your closet unused.
    No, truth be told the only way transhumanism will move forward sustainably and safely in the long term is gene modding. Cybernetic mechanics will wear down in a matter of a year at best as an unavoidable matter of physics (solid state cybernetics are reasonably doable however), bioplasty has a much higher chance of rejection than gene-level modification and can lead to new methods of viral spread, and Praxis Symbiotes are just too expensive to maintain long-term and create too many additional undue dangers (imagine the damage a little static on the translation interface could do to your nervous system, YIKES).

    • @protoborg
      @protoborg Před rokem +2

      Wow. You are so wrong in so many ways.
      First, you can't remove a symbiote from you as it LIVES in you. A removeable organic fursuit would not really be a symbiote. So that stuff would NOT be an issue. We just need to figure out how to imbue the symbiote with the regenerative features of certain lizards. Then you can simply remove the parts and put the symbiote into stasis when you want to transform back. It would also mean that you would be less likely to suffer permanent damage of limbs and organs. The alternative would be nanotech "symbiotes" that can replicate the necessary tissues using your own body as raw material. That might require a greater intake of food, but that is hardly a long term problem as it would be like when an actor needs to put on weight for a part. As long as you don't "carbo load" too often, you should be ok. Plus, the food would be for the symbiote to create your organs. FYI, ALL animals have symbiotes in them already. The digestive system RELIES ON the symbiotic relationship with bacteria. Mitochondria make cells function.
      Cybernetics do NOT fail after a year. In fact, most modern prosthetics are functional cybernetics as they are often (at higher price points) directly connected to the nervous system for better patient usage. Again, nanotech would make maintenance of biomechanical parts laughably simple. Nanomachines can repair and replace any worn out parts without the "wearer" needing to do anything. How exactly would solid state cybernetics work? Kinda hard to make a solid state motor, now isn't it?

    • @Subreon
      @Subreon Před rokem +1

      I think it'd be assault even when off because it's a part of you and your identity. And not practically replaceable like your own body. Losing it would be catastrophically devastating to your mental health like losing a limb or feeling violated. It's far more than something like a car you just get in. It's half of your entire identity and being. So much so that the government would probably have you register it as a link to you, like your state ID, driver's license, car registration, etc. In case you do something bad. Granted, some peeps are super attached to a super rare or customized car, but it's treated just like any other car, though they could argue it's far more important to them than people normally see cars as just tools. These suits however are inherently more than that. They're not a tool or even something just for fun. They're taken on as a part of you and how you want to be seen in the world, like a gender change. Likely the tech will exist to change genders at will, so peeps would likely say gender identifiers and laws no longer matter, but they would because it's who you are at the time, even if you're one to constantly change it, it would still have to be a respected decision. Just like you can change your entire appearance and very being at will by putting on your living, breathing, other half.

    sign me up for full conversion since well feral dragon isnt something that you could just take on and off it would have to be relearning like a baby wouldn't expect to be big at all since using that much energy to morph would drastically shrink you unless you get some kind of microbial nutrient thing that makes them not need to shrink you but even then at very least you wouldn't really grow till after transforming. and them growing pains would probably be terrible

Others are wondering if it can be done safely. So far yes to a point. It's mind numbingly painful and drown out over a lifetime that most likely will not see an end and as always. There's extremely likely going to be complications as is with everything these days. I can go on but I don't have enough time. Bills to pay and new ways to learn how we are so screwed by our government. YEAH!!!🥳🥳😑 Good luck and have what fun that they let you have.

    I mean this would be MUCH easier to do than gene editing or vat-grown implants and the like.
    And CONSIDERABLY SAFER, I can't imagine the sheer amount of "oopsies" that we would see if we did genemoding trials plus I am sure Musk's brain implant company is going to crash and burn after their human trials verify how invasive and deadly his methods are (Neuralink has competitors than look like they have better prospects but still...).
    But Symbiote fursuits sounds relatively saner. I'm down. if I had say I don't know tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars for something like this, even IF the tech exists.
