- A trip from Athabasca Glacier to the Arctic Ocean, 4000km canoeing down three major rivers of Canada. The Athabasca River, Slave River and MacKenzie River, the last being the longest in Canada at 1800km. I began this trip alone on June 21 2020, planning to take two to three months. The starting point was Athabasca Crossing which is the head waters of the river, planning to follow the water all the way to the Beaufort Sea and then east another short paddle to the village of Tuktoyaktuk.

I did the Yukon (Bennett L. to the Bering sea) solo via canoe way back in the day (1995). Awesome trip with lots of great primitive camping and lots of wildlife. Hope your trip is as good as mine was.

Yooo this is a crazy trip
Nice video. Looks like you got a nice set up with your outfit there . Looking forward to catching to the present ones . Can you cut me a clue and tell me more about what the “red gold” is that your adding to your meal .
In 2018, I did a 14 week solo paddle in a sea kayak one of the other drainages of the Mackenzie from Summit L. just north of Prince George, B.C. to Tuktoyatuk via the Crooked R., Williston L. (reservoir), Peace R., Slave R., Great Slave L., and finally the Mackenzie R. I thought about doing the Athabasca R. route, but was put off by the tar sands mining and the logistics on my route were so easy- you can ship your boat back to Prince George via motor freight from Inuvik for less than $150.00. Anyway, there are several good ways to do the trip and yours looked pretty awesome too.
Hey man ! 13 Prevail turned me onto your videos, good stuff ! looks like your on an amazing adventure there, I'm looking forward to more videos to come, I gave ya a sub ! Cheers !

I began this trip on June 21 2020. The footage of Grande rapids was shot the first few days of July. The water was still very high pretty much disappearing most of the shorelines
new Subscriber because of Chad Zuber

Great adventure! Seek Outside tent & titanium stove? How were they?
Mark the seekoutside tent and stove is a game changer! If your dropping coin on a new tent anyways id defiently give a hot tipi a whirl! Highly recommended
nice video - 13 Prevail sent me over to check you out. Good work!
dope
How many days was this journey??? So epic!!!
I'm sitting in ft smith having a little drink after working all day, and I have this dumb idea of trying to make it here from the Edmonton area on the rivers, think frig theres gotta be someone who's done this and filmed it... Subscribed
Me too. Obsessed with history of Alberta. This is epic.
New sub from 13prevail
Where ya from matt? You must be newfie
Sure sounds like it.
3:54 OMG...that JUST happened...I'm freaking out, man...I'm . But seriously, just discovered your channel, very cool. My dad and 3 buddies canoed the Mackenzie in '69, from Hay River to the Arctic Ocean, in two canoes they built themselves. Good to see young Canadians still have some guts and spirit of adventure, not all Nintendo and Bart Simpson and Pokemon and anime and Magic: The Gathering, etc, etc.
hahah mann. what a bunch of units they must have been... doing that in home made canoes??! very impressive.
Troy recommended you where did you get your tent
That cooking stove scares me.. those are wayyy too tippy. Buddy of mine lost a meal on a two day trip cause his tipped over. Whisper light international are way better. They run on any fuel available around the world, I run mine on regular gasoline, 10 years later and a couple litres of gas it’s still going strong.
Mmm thanks for the advice! I'll check em out
New Sub #596 from a 13 prevail subscriber
What is your camping stove?
You catch many fish?
Clearly you went into this with a good bit of money which is fine but id loved to know more about the logistics.
So many questions, Video editing, what software is being used, who is doing the editing, where' the internet connectivity considering these are large video files that have to be uploaded? Editing is pretty slick, clearly drones are used, smells fishy for a "raw" experience. No doubt this guy has skills in the wilderness, but something's not right.
