  • Hello and welcome to the fourth episode of Buxton Barrow Man my volunteering series!
In this short episode, I'll give a history of Corbar Hill and Cross alongside some beautiful drone footage.
The woodland is wonderfully managed by the Buxton Civic Association.

The original 1950 cross was replaced in the late 1980's due to it's poor condition. The cross was driven through town on the back of a open-back van, with the Catholic priest from St Annes church on Terrace Rd retelling the stages of the journey Jesus took while carrying his crucifix to his demise. Said priest later fled to Spain after certain legalities arose.
