@@billytruth6444 Sorry to burst your cynical balloon, but there is indeed history behind the singing. You are right that the song comes from the musical "Carousel,". But the reason it ended up as LFC's anthem is that it was recorded in the sixties, at the height of the Merseybeat era, by a pop group from Liverpool. Gerry and the Pacemakers. Greatest support for real? I've been on anfield. Quiet, I've watched the yellow wall. LOUD. A team named Hammarby has also better fans, they play in swedish second league.
villenordia It's like this mate, English fans don't sing for 90mins straight like the germans or whatever (crystal palace the exception) however when the english sing, its BIG! Please remember there are no Ultras in Liverpool so the whole stadium erupts every now and again. I've been there and there's a stark difference between normal league games and CL games.
First time I've seen this. This was sensational to say the least. Liverpool fans are renowned the world over for their loyalty to their great club but the Australian fans showed great respect by joining in and helping make the Liverpool anthem ring out to the heavens. You did Liverpool and yourselves proud Australia. I'm not a Liverpool resident nor am I a fan of the club but listening to that anthem made me proud. God bless.
I am here to pay homage to Stevie G and his team ! THE WAIT IS OVER! Here's to those who have walked through the storms with their heads held high. Here's that promised golden sun and the sweet silver song of a lark! Here's to the next 30 years, WITH - HOPE - IN - OUR - HEARTS!
holy crap, hearing this make me have chills. i can't imagine how the football teams were. having almost 100.000 people singing at same time. Amazing sight no doubt.

Huge love to the many Liverpool fans around the world and my thoughts go to the families and friends of those who lost their lives years ago in that tragic accident. Respect from Sharon, Bendigo Victoria Australia 🇦🇺
When you walk through a storm, Hold your head up high, And don't be afraid of the dark. At the end of a storm, There's a golden sky, And a sweet silver song of a lark. Walk on through the wind, Walk on through the rain, Though your dreams be tossed and blown... Walk On! Walk On! With hope in your heart, And you'll never walk alone... You'll never walk alone Walk On! Walk On! With hope in your heart, And you'll never walk alone... You'll never walk alone.
Arvind Lakshminarayanan Haha yeah, the movement just caught my eye for some reason, so I went back and watched it again to check I'd seen what I thought I'd seen. Made me laugh!
I love this song, being an Australian from Birkenhead, Liverpool I love this team and this song always makes me so happy and reminds me of my beloved home.
My sons and I have been at Anfield and sung YNWA .... always memorable. However, NOTHING tops that magic night when my sons and I travelled from Sydney to sing YNWA at the G!!! Absolutely brilliant!!! C'mon you red men!!!
There's nothing like walking thru the MCG gates and stepping up the stairs and seeing the ground but to hear that being played at the "G" would have been unbelievable.
A lot of them support Victory as their A-League team, but they can go see Victory any game of the season, where as with Liverpool, this might be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Liverpool live.
Stumbling on this 8+ years after it happened and I still remember like it was yesterday. We moved to Aus years ago, and we flew over from Perth to attend this match. The atmosphere rivalled that at Anfield and I was so proud to be able to be part of this moment. Even now, watching this brings tears to my eyes - such a moving song and such an amazing football family to be part of. As we say, it's not a badge, it's a family crest and I truly felt that family love and support on this day. Even before the match, all the fans gathering in Federation Square and singing and chanting was just incredible. Can never watch this too many times. (And even better watching it the day after *that* game at Old Trafford ahaha). You'll Never Walk Alone
Wish I made the trip over from Perth for this. Had already booked leave and cancelled it because of work. I need to go to Anfield at least once with my son in my lifetime. Once this godforsaken pandemic is over :D

I'm not even a Liverpool one but this is amazing, just amazing. I don't think Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City or, despite what their own fans believe, Man Utd have anywhere near such an enormous worldwide appeal or affection in the hearts of global football fans
No trust me MAN UTD have been doing this for years and anywhere they go in the world they've got millions of fans that wants to see them.. Liverpool fan BTW
Only one thing comes close- ''Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau'' in Cardiff before a rugby international match. Both spine tingling and emotional, but this crowd in Melbourne were really special! I've been to both Anfield and Cardiff's national stadium, sung both songs/hymns, and I will never forget the experiences!!
It was a preseason game obviously they havent all travelled from the uk there aussies also lots of ex pats. Of course there gonna sell out how often can they get to see liverpool in oz. Never. The same happens when they play in Asia China Thailand etc.
I am an absolute die hard The Arsenal supporter. But Liverpool are most definitely my second team. I was only 13 in 1989, but that was the day not only did I jump for joy for my club, but Liverpool also got me. Especially with what happened that year. Love my Scouse cousins!
Yes true, but I got just as much of a high watching my beloved Wolves beat Perth Glory in Perth in 2009 in front of a much smaller but just as appreciative crowd. It's what it means to you.
I am a Chelsea fan but this is amazing to watch. 95, 000 people at the MCG belting out "You'll Never Walk Alone" in front of a national and global audience of millions. Tipping them to win the title for the very first time in the Premier League era.

+Ed Mundo The only plastic think I see is a game in Melbourne with no Melbourne supporters... that's pretty plastic to me, mate. And buying success? This was posted fairly recent, so you know exactly how much money your club has dumped into the transfer market, and still no success. Your club sucks. "Walk on with hope in you heart, and you'll never get a job. You'll never get a job."
+Ed Mundo You cant get any more plastic than this, plastic fans singing another clubs song, if you want a true scouse experience then go out and rob something and then spend the money on drugs not forgetting to blame everyone else and then claim your the victim.
+jcdfbdus hey, are you watching Liverpool vs Melbourne Victory at Melbourne Cricket Ground Stadium? Seems you know pretty sure there were no Melbourne supporters.

I’m a Liverpool fan and this gives me the chills
The sportsmanship before the game impressed me. The emotion displayed during the song moved me more than I expected. Beautiful.
I'm a United fan and I sing along to this sometimes, Liverpool have the greatest supporters in the world, simply amazing stuff
You are so clearly not a United fan
evidently a united fan.
WoodssM32 your right... I clearly am not :D
ManU fan here...that was absolutely amazing.
Imagine being a player and seeing these fans singing their hearts out for your team.. 😍😍
With Gerry's voice coming over the speakers and the whole England spectators singing is a very moving moment well done to all the fans

God bless.
As a die hard Spurs fan in England, that was amazing, I hope Liverpool win the Premiership this season, they deserve it.
Leeds fan here, that was incredible and 100% respect to the Aussies.
Especially last season missing out at the last game! Well done Liverpool!
holy crap, hearing this make me have chills. i can't imagine how the football teams were. having almost 100.000 people singing at same time. Amazing sight no doubt.
Liverpool was the port from which many people who populated Australia departed from. How fitting. YNWA
I'm not a soccer fan but i am an Australian and my brother is a huge Liverpool fan so this is absolutely beautiful....it gives me goosebumps everytime. Huge love to the many Liverpool fans around the world and my thoughts go to the families and friends of those who lost their lives years ago in that tragic accident. Respect from Sharon, Bendigo Victoria Australia 🇦🇺
Amazing. What a venue, what a crowd. That song is the greatest sports anthem. And I'm an Everton fan.
Bloody Aussies. How is anyone going to outdo this example of classy sportsmanship?
No matter who you support this truly is amazing support and a emotional reception for Liverpool.
West Ham Dave here, utterly fantastic to both see and hear, brought a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes, simply wonderful.
Easily one of the most incredible sports moments ever. Seriously!
💯! Agreed 👍
When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm,
There's a golden sky,
And a sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown...
Walk On! Walk On! With hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone...
You'll never walk alone
Walk On! Walk On! With hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone...
You'll never walk alone.
nearly 6 years on and I still love watching this - what a crowd. YNWA
yep! me too, 6 yrs on and it still makes me cry
I can't believe it's six years.
If this doesn’t move you you have a heart of stone. Wonderful rendition of the best football anthem.
Sends shivers down my spine,
Let's bring the premiership title home,
For our 96 angels,
Always remembered never forgotten,
Y.n.w.a........
I'm a Toronto FC supporter from MLS but heart goes out to this terrible event
Dave Oneill I was bloody crying
We are prem champs 96✨🌎💕
Now, sadly 97
A thing of beauty...from a West Ham fan...⚒
As a Manchester United supporter, this is truly emotional and spectacular. Kudos to everyone involved and participating
Thanks for the comment!
The best night of my life. My father flew over from New Zealand and i had 3 of me best mates there. Amazing experience.
From a Manchester United fan, & tears in my eyes thank you, that’s fantastic 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Guy knocking his mate's phone out of his hands at 4:45
Lol
would like to see this video on this phone ^^
did you notice that the first time lol !? , such amazing observation skills :D
Arvind Lakshminarayanan Haha yeah, the movement just caught my eye for some reason, so I went back and watched it again to check I'd seen what I thought I'd seen. Made me laugh!
ZD l
I love this song, being an Australian from Birkenhead, Liverpool I love this team and this song always makes me so happy and reminds me of my beloved home.
My sons and I have been at Anfield and sung YNWA .... always memorable. However, NOTHING tops that magic night when my sons and I travelled from Sydney to sing YNWA at the G!!! Absolutely brilliant!!! C'mon you red men!!!
There's nothing like walking thru the MCG gates and stepping up the stairs and seeing the ground but to hear that being played at the "G" would have been unbelievable.
I agree! 💯👍
I kinda feel bad for melbourne victory, they're playing at home and not a single melbourne fan in sight.
theres like 100 of them in one of the middle parts lol
A lot of them support Victory as their A-League team, but they can go see Victory any game of the season, where as with Liverpool, this might be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Liverpool live.
ItsFalloutz I seen Messi vomiting on Romania stadium live
Potashion Fashion lol
ItsFalloutz All peoples were like EWWWW and I was like How much that thing cost?
Respect from São Paulo FC - Brazil
I flew from the Alice, tears in eyes singing YNWA. A dream come true. And Stevie G scored. Can't get any better then that.
Wish I made the trip over from Perth for this. Had already booked leave and cancelled it because of work. I need to go to Anfield at least once with my son in my lifetime. Once this godforsaken pandemic is over :D
Kerry, what a beautiful comment! I enjoyed reading it so much. Hope you are still enjoying life in Perth, W.A. Blessings to you from Queensland.
The MCG is in Melbourne not Perth
@@mrhaz8939 and? I am from Perth and state that I flew over from Perth to Melbourne to see this match. Not sure what your point is?
Congratulations Australia. This is the best YNWA I have ever heard! Truly amazing 👏 🙌 👌
I am proud to say I WAS there, the singing was spine tingling
Yeah so was i, song was great the game not so much.
Liverpool F.C. & 95,000 Australians singing LOUDLY "You'll Never Walk Alone" if you haven't seen this yet be AMAZED! #LiverpoolFC
Josip Krizmanić go ManCity :)
Juraj Spanik Go Liverpool
Josip Krizmanić
ma koji liverpool,c"mon u might< chelsea kick ass off liverpool, they celebrate a trophy that they can not win for sure, chelsea champin #KTBFFH
Chelsea Croatia i bet your swallowing your words now bruhhh!
yeah danny i was suprised when i saw his comment,i dont care about our football here in croatia ,im fan of hajduk split ,but stop following them, just follow chelsea for many years and i just told him we have a big group here in 4 difference city, group of chelsea and watch them every time they played, peace to you danny
I am a Spurs FC fan and i just watched this for the first time. And yes it did bring a tear to my eye.
Amazing!.
I'm not even a Liverpool one but this is amazing, just amazing. I don't think Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City or, despite what their own fans believe, Man Utd have anywhere near such an enormous worldwide appeal or affection in the hearts of global football fans
Maybe try visiting an African country to see the affection for Arsenal, and anywhere in the far east for United..
United are our equals, no shame in admitting that.
Arsenal and United have a massive fan base in China/Asia and probably anywhere in the worlf
No trust me MAN UTD have been doing this for years and anywhere they go in the world they've got millions of fans that wants to see them.. Liverpool fan BTW
Bloody love the GTA IV theme in the beginning. Best soundtrack ever!
One of the best renditions I have ever heard just brilliant what a crowd what a team
Love them or hate them you can’t tell me this doesn’t give you chills. Football is PASSION!!
Fortunate to be at the game with my son and the march to the G was magic then singing this was spectacular. Loved it. ❤️
When you are part of LFC you will NEVER walk alone!
Thinking of the 96 angels and their loved ones.....RIP
God bless the 96 YNWA
95000 on a Wednesday night on the other side of the world.
Thats my pixelated head. Half way line, third tier, row 1.
Lmfao I was somewhere there aswell
Crazy to look back on it 3 years later
It was a preseason game obviously they havent all travelled from the uk there aussies also lots of ex pats. Of course there gonna sell out how often can they get to see liverpool in oz. Never. The same happens when they play in Asia China Thailand etc.
man u got 67000 on a saturday night
Liverpool FC vs Man United in front of 101,254 in Ann Arbor Michigan, USA
Was at this game as well
I follow United but this was special to be able to witness it
That's /got/ to send chills down the spine, every single time.
It just feels special.
One word - ELECTRIFYING
Regards,
An Arsenal Fan
from a Chelsea fan..this..THIS IS Amazing..pure CLASS
Hope one day Gerrard would win the EPL..
RESPECT the Man..^_^
I am an absolute die hard The Arsenal supporter. But Liverpool are most definitely my second team. I was only 13 in 1989, but that was the day not only did I jump for joy for my club, but Liverpool also got me. Especially with what happened that year. Love my Scouse cousins!
Watching this in 2023 even after 10 years the emotion is till palpable ! and still bring a tear R.I.P to the 97
I often watch it Especially during the summer break Can’t wait for new season to start again
Oh my God.. This is easily the most touching video on utube. Greetings from Greece, You''ll Never Walk Alone.
Fucking goosebumps. Very stirring and what an atmosphere.
Same
Yes true, but I got just as much of a high watching my beloved Wolves beat Perth Glory in Perth in 2009 in front of a much smaller but just as appreciative crowd. It's what it means to you.
This brings goosebumps every time I watch it.
Who's here after Liverpool won the premier league? #ynwa
meee
Boring mate that's all you see respect ok but be in liverpool no matter where your from.your welcome fuck you tube lad we are liverpool
Hendo literally lifted the pl yesterday
It must be terrible to be an Everton or Barcelona fan.
your 8th 🤣🤣🤣 COYS ⚪️
I vote Australia to host the world cup.
Wow that helped heaps man
badly qatar won 😂
Yeah Australia is a good place to held unlike freaking Qatar well we'll have tanned players by the time it finishes
+GreyFox985 Wrong time zone, mate.
Who cares us Aussies wake up 3am to watch the World Cup so why don't you!
I am a Chelsea fan but this is amazing to watch. 95, 000 people at the MCG belting out "You'll Never Walk Alone" in front of a national and global audience of millions. Tipping them to win the title for the very first time in the Premier League era.
Love the Aussies. I went to that stadium when it first opened. Austrailia fans did themselves proud.
No you didn’t mate the stadiums been up since the 1850s
@@rafiwerdiger I think they rebuilt it on same ground. It was about 1 year old, if that when I visited
@@mirifiquebeauty 1992 the Southern stand was rebuilt and in 2006 the Olympic and Ponsford stands were rebuilt so I'm betting you visited there in 2007ish?
@@Somchai007 2002 or thereabouts
The energy is unbelievably amazing. Got chills everywhere!
One of the best YNWA I've ever heard in 40 years supporting Liverpool. Australia take a bow. That was almost a religious experience. Goosebumps all over. WOW!
Goosebumps........I'm proud to call myself a Liverpool fan.
You can keep all of your plastic clubs that buy success..you can't buy passion and love like this..supporting LFC is like being in a family.
Chelsea fan But this is amazing. God I love Melbourne and this song.
+Ed Mundo I'm proud to call myself an australian
Now this...this gave me goosebumps. You Aussies rock. All the best from England.
One of the best You’ll never walk alone’s I’ve ever heard and what better than our own backyard in Australia!!! Man I was glad to watch this match
from a united fan incredible support what a class bunch of supporters liverpool have respect when it's due#GGMU
That shot of the Great Southern Stand at 5:02 decked in red. What a sight. More in that stand than currently fits into Anfield.
yes its mad isn't it, and to think anfield is on the other side of the planet too
to those wondering why this was such a great ynwa, although a lot of these fans support both clubs, a lot are ex pats or have family ties to Liverpool, there is a massive English community in Australia
Thanks for uploading this. Its beautiful. From an Ajax fan, blessings to you.
👍 cheers!
WOW JUST FANTASTIC I live in LIVERPOOL and Love this team so much this has made me cry HAPPY TEARS A BIG BIG THANKS AUSTRALIA you did us PROUD.❤YNWA
