When I read Elton's autobiography, I was disappointed that he didn't go in depth regarding the creative process but even reading Bernie's memoir, it seems both of them were channels. That is what artists do but some do it more effortlessly than others apparently. I almost feel that Elton knew something else was at work when he brings forth a melody and he wanted to respect that force!

A lot of us have lived that life, sadly, a lot of us aren't around anymore to tell the others not to live like that. I had so much fun starting out as a teen experimenting. the deeper I got into it, the harder it was to escape it. Lucky for me, I made it through without dying. I came close many, many, many times. Older now, I'm paying a price for escaping death. Glad to be around to see my children and grandchildren grow.
