I have lived in NYC forever and "When No One Is Watching" is disliked because it dares to address how hipsters and yuppies with money have been buying up those neighborhoods and driving poor original residents out. These people are big readers and they are stung by the book and will put out all the bad talk that they can about it, posing as "open-minded liberals" all the way. Thank God that it has done as well as it has! As I've said before you are one of the few reviewers who "gets" Bunny (it's called satire, people) and who appreciates "A Separate Peace," more power to you! Don't put so much stock in Goodreads ratings, your tastes have clearly gone beyond them already 👍

I want to share with you about one book: "KAYAN KOLLYN- The spiral of the Ellmott & messenger of the secret." a great fiction of adventure, mystery, ART, an ancient CRAFFARTT, and science. once you read it, you definitely love it, because it speaks about all dimensions of life, without the barrier of the beliefs and social divisions. previously i was giving 5 starts to almost every book that i read and liked even a little, but after i started reading more books i made a different scale for myself, and storygraph allow decimal ratings (is it a right word?idk) which is tremendously convenient, and now the most of my reads are actually 3.5-3.75 stars = "i read it, i liked it, but it didn't have a strong impression on me", some are 2-3 = "meh/oh god just why", some are 4-4.75 = "so good, i want to reread", and just a few are 5 stars = "i love you so freaking much, let's start a family" xd, and if i reread a book i often change its rating too, in either of directions) (if i made mistakes with grammar, especially with articles, please, kindly correct me🌸 it's the toughest part of English for me xd)
i love when no one is watching but the pacing was definitely off to me, like i dont hate a slow burn but it just got so fast at the end and wrapped up too quickly imo
So… I DNF’d NO ONE IS WATCHING… I didn’t get far into it(30% on audiobook), but I was SO BORED and I didn’t want to continue at the time when I had several other books on my LIBBY to get to… As for Grady Hendrix… His books do nothing for me… Southern Bookclub Killing Vampires(whatever that dumb title is) was a DNF and Best Friends Exorcism was just OK… So I’m probably done with him… Bunny was ridiculous 🤦🏻♂️ I was actually enjoying the book up until the first major “event” and it went downhill from there… I realize it’s satire and maybe satire isn’t my cup of tea 🤷🏻♂️ I DID enjoy Reckless Girls The PUSH was BRILLIANT… One of my favorites last year… But that’s what I LOVE about reading… Different books speak to different people 😊 Great video though… I always love to hear others views on books I didn’t enjoy ✌🏽

When No One Is Watching was one of my favorite books!!!!! I freaking loved it!!!!!! The audio was great as well!!!

I really want to read Fiona and Jane but I know it will completely break my heart
