- In this second episode of Pint Shopping we bounce around North London to profile 9 of our favourite pubs. The pints and pace were both very strong and so the wheels came off by late afternoon so I do apologise for the lively state I was in by the end. But hey, occupational hazard I guess.

And he can't even get the name right, lol. That pub is near me and has zero atmosphere inside at the best of times. Good outdoor space though.
He goes midday so pubs aren't going to be busy. Easy to film a video. He's not gonna go on a Saturday now is he.

This video made me realise I hate people that turn proper pubs into pubs for people that don't like pubs.

A tour of the homogenised pubs of North London, and celebrating people who take good old fashioned pubs and paint them grey, sand the floors and remove any atmosphere. There's room for everyone guys but unfortunately bland, soulless pubs are becoming the norm...

That footage from the Landseer Arms couldn't have been shot at a better time, the light in the background is perfect London autumn weather. I live in New Barnet and have the Landseer in my sights in the next few weeks [weather permitting] due to this video. I will knock out a few others on my jaunt. Btw, I was a resident of Notting Hill for a decade, how come you've never done a west London pint shopping? I mean, I was 50 yards from two utter classics, The Cow & The Westbourne, which on their own you could build an entire video on. Happy to recommend some others in that area if you don't know it as well.

My gripe (everyone has to have one) is that saying north London then covering Hampstead and stoke newington doesnt work - they're half an hour apart
These guys have never ever steered me wrong! I have been to places they have reviewed all over Europe, and even in my hometown of NYC. Never a bad experience! If they say go-go! 👍

They're all a bit.... toffish aren't they? Landseer was alright, but it had no atmosphere, no music, just felt big and full of people working (at 5.30pm) a couple of families and bored bartenders. Landseer is probably quite nice in the summer with the big windows, but I'd be sat outside as I wouldn't miss the lack of atmos.
The Lamb on Holloway, Alma, The Duke of Wellington and Hunter S nearby are way better than most of these overtly posh and expensive restaurant pubs. Hunter S toilets are particularly recommended that you visit....
Lads come on have a pint in there and move on if you don’t like it. This is a list of decent pubs in north London with some decent food and independent companies that are trying build the brand. Jesus Christ have a day off lads.

How did you miss The Swimmer at The Grafton Arms.....proper back street pub....and seems like you're sort of pub....you seemed to have ignored the Irish pubs on Holloway road quite deliberately ..The swimmer is one of londons best pubs, Hercules St opposite the Odeon. kicks the Lansdeers arse! The Hercules is the busiest pub in upper/lower holloway...you missed that one as well. come on boys.

Wouldn't say the hops are by far the most expensive ingredient.
I mean if you are using NZ / AUS or even American hops and using the grams per litre some breweries are I think it would ring true.
We’re using hops from South New Zealand and the Pacific Northwest and lots of them. So for us here in the UK they are definitely the most costly ingredient.
@@topjaw Yeah makes sense in that case, especially if you're making IPA's and such with a lot of hops. Just seemed like a sweeping statement that doesn't ring true for all beers.
