One thing in the video, I have to disagree with. Is when it says for the DLR and trams, there is only one line on each of these system. Tramlink system has got at least three routes, and DLR has 5 lines. The DLR lines are as follows: Bank to Lewisham, Stratford to Canary Wharf, Tower Gateway to Beckton, Bank to Woolwich Arsenal and Stratford International to Woolwich Arsenal.

Your opening dates are kind of misleading; they give the year that the first part of each line was opened, without giving the opening dates for extensions/additional branches. I realise this would be a lot of extra work but it would give a much more accurate picture of how the network grew and evolved. A lot of the research must have already been done though; were the extension dates not given in a previous animation? This is still a useful map though and I can appreciate the time and effort involved.😁👍

History of the Underground (This may take a while):
10th January 1863 - The Metropolitan Railway (MR) opens to the public between Paddington Bishop's Road and Farringdon Street - the world's first underground railway.
The Great Western Railway (GWR), which had given financial backing to the project, initially provided the steam locomotives and coaching stock.
10th August 1863 - A rift between the MR and the GWR saw the GWR withdraw all locomotives from the MR from the end of this day. Services continued the following day using standard gauge locomotives and coaching stock provided by the Great Northern Railway (GNR).
13th June 1864 - The Hammersmith branch between Paddington and Hammersmith opened.
1st July 1864 - A short branch from close to the current Latimer Road station to Addison Road opened.
23rd December 1865 - The east end of the MR was extended to Moorgate Street (now Moorgate), which involved moving the railway and station at Farringdon onto a new alignment.
13th April 1868 - The Metropolitan & St John's Wood Railway (M&SJWR) built a new single track line that diverged off the MR at Baker Street forming what we know today as Baker Street Junction.
1st October 1868 - The MR opened a new line which branched off its original line at Praed Street Junction near Paddington and reached Brompton (Gloucester Road). Between Paddington and Bayswater on this stretch, the new railway had to pass through the terrace of houses on Leinster Gardens. The 'cut and cover' method required the demolition of a part this terrace.
