Sorry for no videos for the last month. I was busy working on different things from GE:S (one will be a video soon) and other stuff.
This mission is kinda hard if you don't know the spot of the Skedar, but if you do and use the Mauler, it's fairly "easy". You shouldn't bother on getting the Slayer unless you want to destroy the engines from safety, but in my opinion it's not worth it.
I like Elvis' and Joanna's teleportation skills, btw.
Don't forget to leave a "like" and subscribe if you enjoyed the video!

Cassandra does have some serious balls though. Willing to be mauled to death if it means her enemy Joanna can escape, kill the Skedar herself and avenge Cassandra
Yeah. That part always hit me.
@@dzabageo Indeed It Does
Especially when she said “Use it or we’ll both die” kind of implying that one them might die while knowing it’s herself.
Still does not answer the two questions: If the Skedar was at the front of the door in the cinematic, how did they manage to alter further in the room? If Cassandra died right in front, the Skedar would've blocked the way and Joanne would be immidiately next no matter how long she would stay inside the prison cell. And second, the Skedars were not close to her when she died. Did she faked or was it meant to be programmed like that? Sorry if this still sounds like nitpicking.
I love the scene in the beginning!!
"I better not be where I think I am...."
"And it gets worse than that my dear..... just look who you got for company."
Great playthrough!!!
Cassandra had me dying at that. Just look who you have for company 🙃🥲🥲
Why is the music in this game so god dam amazing!?
Grant Kirkhope, the legend
Rare
@@Raichasness Actually it was David Clinyck who composed this theme. He also composed: Crash Site - Confrontation, Alien Conflict, Dark Combat, and the music for the cutscenes from dataDyne - Defection to Area 51 - Escape. He composed about 30 % of the Soundtrack in Perfect Dark. And he also composed the music for perfect dark zero.
This is the right question.
@@Robles1881 and Graeme Norgate composed the intro music for the N64 and Rare logos before leaving for Free Radical.
This is definitely the hardest mission to do on Perfect Agent in this game. One hit does so much damage
Last night, I spent over 3 hours just trying to beat carrington institute: defense on PA. So I'd have to give my vote to that one for hardest level.
@@CdotWizzle Carrington Institute can be made considerably easier though. My method:
Punch Carrington so he cannot be killed (does not fail the mission) and only activate the guns on the hanger side of the level
Save all the hostages (except Foster since that area doesn't open until all autoguns are activated) and grab the devastor
Use the devastor to destroy the sensitive Information, which spawns the bombs and mr blondes without activating the timer.
Wait until they come up and pick them off from the balcony.
Deactivate the bomb and then activate the final autogun.
Open the door to foster, kill the guards and grab the RCP gun.
Wait until the dialogue finishes and stay cloaked and go the the end point in the hanger
@@liambraithewaite6415 Carrington dying was never an issue and activating all three sentries without taking damage was the easiest part. It was the rest of the level with unpredictable spawning enemies with shields that gave me such a problem.
@@CdotWizzle yeah i know. The reason i do it like that is it thins the guards because the guard spawn rates increase every objective you complete in order. You punch Carrington so he wont die using this method
Yeah Carrington Institute is too easy but this Attack Ship: Covert Assault took me like a month to finish it. Then there is that other stage where the guys like sound the alarm and about 50 guards coming at you.
Funfact: In the Japanese version the combat knife is replace with a falcon gun so that the japanese Asians won't have trouble killing the alien enemies at the start of the level while the American version for having a combat knife to kill the alien enemies to get there gun makes it harder.
+Wisdom Moalusi The European version also have the combat knife.
The Japanese version completely removed the Combat Knife, not only in this level, but you couldn't get it in multiplayer or with the cheats, so I wonder if it's another reason instead of difficulty. It has some shields on places you wouldn't find in the EU and US version though, even at Perfect Agent.
The knife was also censored in GoldenEye, apparently it was because some incident with a knife and a child murderer that happened close to the game's release. They probably did the same in Perfect Dark for that, since it's completely removed from the game, not just in this mission.
So yeah, you're probably right, their censorship laws with knives seem to be really strong compared to the west.
Wisdom Moalusi
Some kid in Japan cut another kids head off. Which Japan started blaming video games for I guess, eventually ended up censoring knifes and violence in entertainment in this time period. They been a little bit relaxed with them a few years back.
@@Graslu00 I'm not sure it was a legal thing so much as Nintendo deciding on a good P.R. move over there. A similar thing happened with Final Fantasy VI's GBA port, which altered Celes' imprisonment scene due to an abduction incident that happened there. On the flip side, Hideo removed a scene involving an attack on a U.S. city in MGS2 due to concerns involving the 9/11 attacks that happened so close to the game's release date. It just made good business sense not to upset a public rather sensitive to these incidents so close to their occurrence.
So nostalgic to hear the Mauler again! Favorite gun ever used in video games thus far.
Laptop gun,ALL the assault rifles. The rcp 120...they were all.legendary and felt great to use
Funny thing is soon after this, we got Halo and it's own "instantly destroy the enemy shield then the enemy" charged weapon.
So many great guns with meaty sound effects. I do miss the sound of double grenade launchers in the Temple though…. “Thoop, thoop…boooom”
Nothing gave me so much hell as a child but trying to clear this on PA. creeping through at a snails pace to avoid any damage, framerate dropping to single digits, elvis getting lost halfway across the ship and dying, just, damn.
Elvis randomly deciding to take off down some hall without me was one of the most frustrating things about this level, that and the "odd job" short stature of all the skedar making it pretty hard to deliver those hits. Ducking really is key to this level.
I've just beaten it another time after zillion trial and errors and let me tell you, before I completed objective 5 and finishing the level, I was yelling at Elvis on the TV screen, that if gets himself killed, I was going to be really unforgiven (sorry, can't really say what I want to say, because I was so cranky I can say uncall things). That was because he was dashing straight at the last three skedars in close combat, that I was nearly on nuclear meltdown, trying to gun the lizards but trying to avoid shooting him. Oh and yes, did I forget to mention that at times, the Assault rifle take more shots to kill skedars further at the end, while on the other, I have to break my way with a Charged Mauler that at times, when it locks on the enemy, it kinds of jitter before focusing which means I kind of miss my shot and despereately end up shooting the enemy rapidly with the charge on but with weak shots. Really enraging, if you can picture this. No, it's not a bug, it can certainly be because I'm so nervous avoiding to be killed in this level that even the skrinked space like the hallways before the last two objectives makes it harder to fend yourself easily (kind of like Final Doom: Plutonia Experiment).
This Skedar ship looks like a night club
Well they kinda need a place to party while in space so...
To me it looks like a lasertag arena.
Joahana (looking at a low res jpg) : Wow... It's beautiful!
The real 90s kids love this to death. Intelligent gaming community
Wasn't this released in 2000? So technically it's a 2000s game
@@KylerFlame
"90s kids" means "people who grew up in the 90s".
Also a better trick at the beginning. You can actually one-hit kill the skedar you threw the knife into. Wait for the other one down below to walk around to the elevator (he will stand there for ages) and walk around and get behind the first skedar with his back to you. Slice him from behind and he will die instantly, dropping his mauler in a safe location every time and still having your knife which you can use on the second Skedar instead
Yeah I do that too usually. I think I've done that sometimes on stream.
....so, do we call you the next time we need a skedaddle assassinated?
The Skedar were using dataDyne to help them destroy Earth
Nice; I actually never played through this game so this is cool to see.
No time to mourn Cassandra on a speed run
Interesting thing I found is that once you go up the elevator with Elvis, in the yellow room on the left you can open and close windows to look into space lol
At least this game had an idea how to make a half-decent A.I. partner. I always liked the little touch with the Mayans guards coming with Elvis too.
Eh...they kinda sucked but they could bullet sponge and tank hits for a bit
@@Matanumi Yeah Chad Elvis is a way better partner than the Virgin Natalya, plus an alien partner it's more interesting than woman
I can't have been the only one that had impure thoughts as to why Joanna's skirt was ripped all the way up to the waist.
This playthrough was far away than exciting. I never could beat that level on the hardest difficulty, as soon as possible I shall try it certainly.
This level is utterly beautiful
twice is the charm with the screaming Cassandra! 😂😆🤣
Elvis (fools around fighting skedars in close combat): ''All going wrong''
Me (in a Homer Simpson rage in the front of the TV): WHY YOU LITTLE!
the skedar sure did tatter and tear her clothes, sheesh
Either they were pervs or it got caught on various things as they dragged her. I can imagine funny moments of the dress getting caught.
Been playing video games for 40 plus years and I still say completing Attack Ship on Perfect Agent under 4:20 was the hardest thing I've ever done..
Why under 4:20? There doesn't seem to be a target time for Attack Ship PA
Bruh you ain't lying this mission was pure hell I swear
I barely beat it on perfect agent
That’s amazing
I never really enjoyed this level on the N64, but in your video the quality is absolutely crystal clear. It's actually a gorgeous level that exceeded the N64's capabilities. What are you using to play?
I'm using a custom emulator build to run this at 1080p and 60fps. It's on the description, it's called 1964 60FPS Build by Carnivorous.
Thank you very much sir, I almost give up
You're most welcome sir
"It's so beautiful"
Yes, the flat 2D image of a planet is so beautiful, Jonna. Trololol.
Aparently saying "trololol." was OK 3 years ago. now its fucking cringy.
@@MercenaryFox Trololol
@@MercenaryFox dang i guess weve gone full corcle now huh?
It does look very nice on the 360/XBone remasters actually.
The problem was the N64 graphics were pretty hideous. Most N64 games looked and played the exact same with that muddy, smudged look. PlayStation was a lot better on that score.
Thank you so much.
7:13 - 7:15 I can hear the beginning part of Rage Awakened from Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. You guys might not know this game but, I just want to share it.
I just don't know why cassandra would scarface herself to saved agent dark which that is smart!
She said that its her only chance for revenge which means that shes distracting the skedar so joanna can escape and take the skedar down
@@lamb6276 Of Course, She Sacrifice Herself For Agent Dark!
Luckly , skeddar never use hotshot mode.
Probably because it deteriorates the gun over time. Joanna isn't really going to be using them as long as the Skedar would, so she can hotshoot to her heart's content.
hoy volvi a jugar este nivel y me sigue dando mucho miedo 😰😱
Mr Blonde captured the last one, Joanna Dark, for questioning.
I have no emulator experience, so I'm curious what you played this on. There is no way it's an N64, the frame rate is too flawless! And what controller did you use too?
This is being played on PC at 1080p and 60fps through an special emulator that also allows you to use mouse & keyboard input, so I didn't have to use any controller. The link to a tutorial to it is on the description.
Fortunately, I still have the original N64 game and console!
That is my favorite level.
Cassandra sounds like Flanders
She totally does
Its a bit of an inconsistency between the intro cutscene and Mr Blonde's revenge. Soooo Carrington Institute couldnt find Cassandra but the Skedar was able to kidnap her from DataDyne's offices. You could argue 'Well the reason they couldnt find her is because the Skedar had already abducted her before they attacked Carrington Institute. But if that was true then they wouldnt have had DataDyne guards attacking the Institute with the Skedar (Admittedly, given Cassandra wouldve known the consequences for failing idk why she would be supplying DataDyne men to attack Carrington anyway). It would have made more sense for the Skedar to capture her after attacking the institute, but then Carrington should have already been able to find her at DataDyne before the Skedar
They probably used her to command her guards.
That wouldnt fly since they destroyed the DataDyne building
My guess is that the DataDyne guards just did as they were told especially if threatened. If the Skedar commandeered them to fight then that's probably what they would do.
Have you tried the Japanese version of this mission? There, You start with a Falcon 2 as the Knife has been mysteriously removed from the Japanese version. This regional change doesn't carry over to the XBLA version.
Yes I've streamed the Japanese version before. The knives are removed, just like in GoldenEye, due to censorship at the time.
I noticed Joanna's dress is riding a little too high, not sure if that's a bug or an implication that it got torn when she got captured in the previous mission.
It gets torn up after the previous mission, yeah.
@@Graslu00 Oh That's Right It Did
I really hope this comment was satire.
I haven't played this game for while but I really don't ever remember seeing a glimpse of Cassandra running the moment you get out of the cell. Question I have, is there any chance of actually saving her before she dies or is it just like programmed to where she gets to a specific spot and dies instantly? I assume so since you collect her necklace... again...
PS, I really hated this level, the only one I really struggled on, that and I hated the music too.
If you get out of the cell fast enough before she screams you can she her running into the Skedar.
There's no way to save her, if you use cheats to get there before her and kill the Skedar, you'll see she dies when she reaches that spot as you said. The Skedar actually does nothing to her.
Graslu00 Gotcha, thank you! Nice play through too!
You're welcome, glad you enjoy my videos!
+Kitty 1205 - If you unlock the Psychosis Gun and enable it for this level, you can actually prevent Cassandra from dying by shooting her with one of the sedatives before she makes it to the Skedar around the corner.
Cuando pase el instuto carrington sufri y dije no puede ver algo peor y efectivamente esta mision esta misión se me hizo peor, me hizo llorar sangre. Casi le disparo a Elvis por accidente en la ultima fase de la misión.😢😂😂😂
You can actually fail this by running out of ammo before you escape the first area. Ask me how i found out
Lol you upload once a month or what ?
No, usually I try to upload weekly but I've been busy working on other things. I'll upload more this week to compensate it.
Graslu00 Ok :) I'll look forward to it
I love it how she says there was no hiding from the Skedar despite CI not being able to find her.
Mr. Blonde found her in her office, same as Joanna did. Cassandra wasn't exactly doing a great job at hiding was she.
In her defence she was in her office with a shit load of guards
Do you play with the mouse ?
This is mouse and keyboard, yes.
@@Graslu00 Thanks, Project 64 ? I m finishing Perfect Dark on 360 then I ll make Goldeneye on emulation.
No, Project64 is not capable of doing mouse injection. This is 1964 GEPD Edition which lets you play both GoldenEye and Perfect Dark at 60fps with true mouse controls. There's a tutorial at the end of the description.
@@Graslu00 TThanks you, sir.
Why haven't I ever played this mission! No way this is custom
This is the original game, the one before the last level.
Any Master Chief Collection on the way?
Well, I don't have any way to record consoles yet. But since Windows 10 will have the option to stream the console to it, it might be a possibility, but for now I don't think so.
Graslu00 Hmm, that's pretty cool. I'll have to watch out for that. Still play Destiny at all?
Kreutz
No, not any more. I stopped after I completed it and got a few more light levels.
Jugai bn,pero no mejor que yo e.e xd una mentira
