Coming up with the idea is creative and very useful. However, the fact that you took the time to make a video (with narration) and post it here is very, very commendable. Thank you!
You’re an absolute legend. Was washing my clothes late at night and this piece came off and all the other help videos used the pliers to get it back on but your version saved me. Thank you!
This is what makes CZcams great... the unsung heroes that take the time to drop some knowledge (and ingenuity)! Thank you sir for saving me from ordering an overnight delivery from Amazon . . . though the pliers on Amazon are actually only $10 a one time use pair of zip ties (now) is better than a one time use of a $10 tool I would have to wait 2 days for!
You are a genius! Thank you for this great idea. Had to change my drain pump, which took about 15 minutes. I played with that stupid seal ring for 45 minutes, then hit the web for some ideas. Found your video and had it on in less than 5 minutes! Thank you!!!!
Chucker, you are a genius! After replacing the bearings, seals, spyder arm. I thought all the hard stuff was done. I had tried about 10 times to get the spring retainer on.No luck, it just pulled the seal out. Then I figured youtube and found your video. Worked the first time . Thanks a bunch for your tip.
Dude!!! this worked awesome. I don't have an expansion tool this size, and none of my other normal tricks worked (rubber instead of metal on metal) the tool is only like 11 now. this is probably almost as fast as the official tool. hats off to you
So, I’ve replaced 2 drain pumps in this pos washing machine in the last 10 months. The first time, I just had to fight the spring to get it back on. I’m not even sure how I managed to get it on the first time. This time I found your video. Thank you sir! After fighting the spring for a half hour, I found your video and had the spring installed in 5 minutes! You’re a genius!
This is a fantastic solution for a problem that many of us have faced, thank you for taking the time to make this video. One small improvement that folks might want to try is reversing the direction of a squeeze clamp, which allows you to slowly increase, and then decrease, the pressure on the spring. This saved me a ton of time and frustration, thank you!
You’re the Fkn best!!! I replaced the door lock and was struggling to put the metal ring back. My fiancé was upset with me thinking I messed it up. I told him I didn’t that we just needed a special tool. Found this video and proved that dummy wrong. Now I’m washing clothes. Thanks a million .
Man when I tell you I almost threw that damn washer to the curb because of this damn ring............ Hours of frustration and cursing only to find this video and dinner in 3 minutes 🤦🏿♂️. Thanks brother!!!!
Wow!! I fought with this darn thing off and on for two days walking away a few times in frustration. I broke down and ordered the cheap tool on Amazon but took another search and came across your video. On within 5min and I would have given you a hig if here. Thank you much!
I was struggling trying to get my spring on and the clothes was pulling up. Anyway, I tried your method and withing a minute I had it on. Thanks a million. Now I can wash.
You're a fricking life saver!! After a year of giving up and using a zip tie titing and ring saw this hack as I didn't wanted to spend money on the tool, and it worked!! Sooo fucking happy lol jumped with a success feeling 😂❤❤❤
Man! Thanks for this video! After about 4 hours and a hole in my lip, (from a pick I was trying to stretch the spring with). I tried your method. 30 minutes later I was done!
same applies for my kenmore - used a wrench w a 6 inch distance between the opening's minimum length - make sure you use zip ties with largest possible teeth and fits in the spring retainer holes. thanks for you posting this
I use locking needle nose pliers and regular needle nose pliers. Hold one side still with the locking pliers. Loop the spring around one prong of the regular needle nose pliers then grab the hook side with the other prong. Twist and squeeze. I do a couple of these every month
Worked. Should be right there with any instructions for gasket removal. A note: needed 11" ties to have enough 'pull'. And, you should say :"pull the spring wide while OFF the machine, and with the gasket in place, move the ring into position, top to bottom until the ring is in all the groove and the spring is close to position, then carefully cut the tennis tie." That was the only way it worked. But it DID work, and saved my _ss. Muchos kudos to you.
You deserve a goddamn medal for this.
Abso-FRIGGIN-lutely!
