Yeah, but Antifa is a special kind of "anti facism" that uses violence to silence anything they deem facist. They stood out as the most violent protesters during the George Floyd protests but they have been active since way before then. Not really an organisation tho, more of an idea, or an attitude as an anti facist.
And they most certainly are active in europe as well, saying this as a Swede.

What causes people to rob others? Poverty, oppression. I, and all antifascists, believe capitalism causes these issues. So, people breaking into your house is caused by capitalism making the poor poorer and the rich richer. In a classless, moneyless society, there is no poverty. This wouldn't be an issue. There would be no need to rob people. If someone did, there would obviously be consequences, but the idea is to stop that from happening, not to focus on punish those that do it.

I find the idea of someone breaking into your home, mentioned halfway through the video, as an interesting hypothetical. The Antifa individual is against the police, so calling the police is out of the question. However, he’s also against guns, so defending yourself against a lethal threat with lethal force is out of the question. So… what? Let the person breaking in threaten you and your family? Try to use non-lethal which is generally less reliable, especially if the criminal has a gun? Try to use a knife even though knife fights never end well for anyone involved?

@jeremytine 99% of the time the police are a response to violence if any. That or someone resisting arrest and in that case what are the police supposed to do? Oh you committed 4 felonies and have warrants out for your arrest because you're a menace to society and you don't want to go to prison? Oh okay well I guess if you resist we should just let you go.
As for the military that is murky water. The situation is unclear for a few reasons. I am in no way saying that the U.S military hasn't done absolutely fucked things by order of our government, and that goes for many militaries worldwide too. However if the U.S suddenly dropped the military altogether how long do you think it would be for China or Russia to capitalize on that and start something? It wouldn't take long. One major benefit of our military (while I think our military budget is much higher than it should be) is that it disincentivizes other nations from acting against your nation and thereby the interests of your people for their own gain or interests. Unfortunately we're far off from a world where military is obsolete.

That person needs to do a lot of self-reflection. They need to look at their own actions and compare them to that which they are criticizing. If they still don't see a problem, then they are part of the problem. They don't care about the answers. They want others to figure that out. Why?
Makes assumptions up about others and tries to get others to enact upon that. Labels people without attempting to concede there are ways to change things for the better. This has nothing to do with the violence bit either, cause violence is usually the end result of ideologies clashing with each other, meaning all sides are engaging in it.
It should be easy to spot the problems in the statements he made.

Transformative justice is a big one (creating living conditions and organizing communities in a way that takes away incentives for crimes), forms of neighborhood self-policing through community members with training in de-escalation and mediation, seeking ways to reduce (and eventually hopefully abolish) prisons as they will only weaken communities, restorative justice (seeking to repair the damage done to the victim, and to get offenders to see the harm they caused and take responsibility), legalizing victimless 'crimes', and trained social workers replacing police for mental health calls, are a few examples.
But yeah I agree with you, however rotten the police is and however much I would love work towards abolition, society hasn't given us many other tools to work with and in certain cases you have no other option. Be aware that bringing in the police will create the risk of added tension and violence in any given situation though, and only call them if the risk is truly worth it (for your own safety and others around you).

You want the world to be more loving for everyone, but take out random people livelihoods and homes in the process. Places that weren't even involved with the institutions.
