Guys, really? I appreciate your effort but I don't wanted to watch YOU talking all the time in a review, I want to watch real life footage of the XF605... ;-)

  • @remektekmedia6641

I agree with the other earlier comments. By now most viewers know all about the specs including the ports. What is needed are some footage shots, both ungraded and graded from different scenarios, such as outdoors/indoors, sports, action, interviews, macro, etc.
I would also like to know about the WiFi remote browser based interface. What controls are available for that? Can a web browser on a tablet, be used as a wireless proxy viewer for framing the shot?
Please provide more user oriented content. Thanks. :)

Desperately waiting for one of these "testers" to test the actually camera and show some professional graded footage.

Sorry, but this is the worst review I've ever seen about a camcorder.
Probably you're the wrong persons for reviewing a professional broadcast camcorder, while you've never used something like the XF605.
You're missing the most important features of this cam, talking about ports on the camera and missing again most of the ports.
And when I want to watch a review about a camera, I really want to see some test footage.
You've shown 3 or 4 shots in total from the XF605 and they were ungraded and I wasn't able to even say if it's really in focus or not.
Why didn't you grade the footage or shot just in a standard color profile or Rec. 709?

Definitiv.

Thanks guys for the effort...but...I have shot with mt XF300 cameras for years and I would have loved to see some professionally graded footage shot with the XF605 to see what it can do...I can't expect it to look like the footage from my C100 mk2 and a Sigma lens of course or a C200 but I would love to see more footage-I can't judge from ungraded Clog...but I hope the footage is not just dull...here in Canada this camera will cost a small fortune! but sometimes a videographer needs a real camcorder....! Maybe you'll find the time to share a few minutes of actual graded footage shot with the XF605 soon...thanks!

Hi folks, something useful, that H265 codec bits/second is roughly the equivalent of double that in H264, so not only are you getting somewhat smaller file sizes but you are also getting better quality. New computers will be able to process H265, either with the latest version of QuickSync with Intel or the M1 series Apple tablets and laptops. Incidentally DaVinci Resolve is now reputed to run three times faster on the M1 chip set. Cheers. BobUK.

Can you record direct to SSDs via the USB-C? I've only got 170mb/s SD cards and don't want to shell out for V90s just yet. Edit - found the answer, no!

Why are your interior videos not vibrant, but a grayish cast? Was this intentional?

After skipping a few months’ rent, I’ll be able to afford that camera haha. Looks like a quality bit of gear and I’m eager to try it out soon.

What does it have over the XF405? How does the image stabilisation compare?

Congratulations on the great and informative video.
I have a Sony HXR NX80 and was thinking of switching to PXW Z90V but Canon XF605 came along.
    It's worth it?.
I care a lot about speed of focus and precision as well as low light performance.
Thanks and greetings from Lima Peru.

The image stabilization was poor on the XF300 - it was shakey also here on the XF600- am I missing something?

  • @DuffTV
    @DuffTV Před 3 lety +4

Zzzz, you guys did a similar flop review of the 705. Appreciate your effort but you obviously don't shoot with these cams. That was real shakey dodgy looking handheld examples. Where's the chat about using Image Stabilization when zooming in to a tight shot for example?

Can you manually dial in the iris to 2.8 on say a 70 or 85mm range? To get a shallow depth of feel?

    • @Andre1705able
      @Andre1705able Před 2 lety

If you want that then you need something like a sony Sony PMW-200 camera with a Fujinon lens.

    Hi,
Have you tested the 1.5 / 3/6 teleconverter options of 4k zoom and x30 advanced mode at 1080p?
Does the quality remain by appointment?
    Thank you

Shout out to Jakkie @ORMS! Cool video but not really a review for me. It's more of an overview. I am excited to test these in mid October when they arrive! Also has canon released better smartphone control software yet? on the XF405 it wasn't great but it worked (no zebra or focus peaking etc. like the apps for Sony has). Thank you

Sorry guys, STILL waiting for footage that is crisp, RAZOR SHARP 4K. Nobody's test footage has convinced me that this camera provides a sharper image than the iphone 13. What is the problem?

The specs are much worse than a lot of mirrorless cameras at it’s price range, why would anyone buy camcorders these days other than the zoom

Your aperture jumps by F stops with a camera, not so much with a video camera. Better ergonomics and ports with a cam.

No overheating. Parfocal lens, built in ND filters, long battely life, broadcast features. And the list goes on.
